the stream

Who the fuck cares what you’re trying to convey? You made a username just to taunt the guys who worked really hard to produce a massive stream. That’s your claim to fame; you’re a self-centered ingrate that no one cares about. What are you proposing? That a random stream drop makes levelup third-rate? That just shows your ignorance. They uploaded the videos faster than any other tournament ever did, and AJ sent out an apology. Would you prefer that he stop making streams from now on and just toss all of his equipment? Go back to your godlike Starcraft streams and stop being such a prick.

hey, my friend came over to my house and we watched the finals on my projector. he hasn’t played Street Fighter since he was young, but he was so hype during the finals . when the stream froze he started screaming. we both did. then my cat started throwing up so i chased him off the carpet. i refreshed the page and it didn’t show up so i cleaned up my cat’s puke and refreshed again. nothing. finally when it got back up i saw s-kill and Adam looking all sad. my friend and i were pretty bummed over it. point of this story is: i want there to be a moment in time when i can forget how heinous my cat’s wake-up ultra barf is when i’m watching a stream of the world’s best street fighters with bros that show up to my house. what exactly happened to the stream and what can we do about it so this doesn’t happen again?

p.s. people that feel the need to jump in the thread and talk trash to “haters” should just not post. you add nothing to the discussion.

So people who are saying it’s a possibility that the hotel internet connection is partly to blame need proof, but you blindly saying it was Level Up’s fault needs no proof what so ever? Man you should be a lawyer.

Anyway, shit breaks down, just as Smorgasboard said, so if it was their fault I’m sure they didn’t plan on shit going wrong, and they worked to fix the problem as soon as they could. I have a feeling most of the people complaining haven’t been around very long and weren’t around when streaming was a long distant pipe dream. All the matches are up on youtube now, so pretend like it’s 2 years ago and go watch them like a champ.

And is everyone forgetting the great job Level Up did at MWC? A group of people do a great job at no charge to you and you don’t say a word, but once one technical mishap occurs and people go as far as to make alternate accounts and stupid, unfunny pictures badmouthing said group of people.

Good stream overall for the last 2 days sad that the finals glitched out. Just want to know was it a Hardware, Software, or Human error that caused the mishap.

looks like levelup pissed off more ppl than bp this year

Mistake can happen once, not multiple times in 3 days, especially when we are talking about professionals who earn big bucks for their work.

Next time we should have 3 redundant teams of streams just for the grand finals. That way if two fail, we have at least 1 left.

Stream crashing down was a bandwidth problem. It crashed first time in daigo vs shizza and ustream had 30k viewers at that point…crash

After stream restarted viewers started to rise up slowly. 15k, 20k, 25k and in the grand finals it reached 30k viewers in ustream and it crashed again.

The thing is Level fukin Down wasn’t prepared to handle the viewer rate. There was no buffer in bandwidth, it was maxed out. They should have bought or rent more servers from stream distributors like USTREAM but they half-assed it.

People saying the stream was FREE. WTF there has been always this attitude, let’s make fighting games real spectator sport and I believe that is the goal of EVO tournament in general. How the hell can you take fighting games seriously from viewers and sponsors point of view if the biggest tournament totally FUCKS UP. It should not be used as an argument that it was FREE stream stop crying etc., it fuckin has to be free if this community wants to grow.

Also nice ending. No speech and summary at the end. Fuckin winners interview would be nice but whatever this is a cellar and basement sport so no need. Without Critique there is no Quality.

who should i point my finger to then? did i unplug their shit? give me a break. stop leghumping

do you want a perfect analogy? go take a look at the adam sessler threads

ForumSkill is on spot

sup haters. raise your hand if you paid for the stream, clicked any ads, or patronized the sponsors as a result of the stream. if not, shut ur face

Damn, so many retards joining SRK and making dumb posts since the release of SFV. I remember when we couldn’t even post videos of top 8 anywhere. Levelup did a great job with the stream and it was a nice treat to see it live for free. Those complaining about the stream, buy the fucking DVD when its release. Support the community and stop trolling and making worthless posts. THIS THREAD SHOULD BE CLOSED.

Sup dickriders? Raise your hand if you’re secretly hoping level up folks see you defending them and award you a nut bugger medal. Raise your hand if you WEREN’T disappointed by how the stream turned out. Raise your hand if you didn’t pay directly but did invest time or travel to watch a stream you were assuming would be reliable. Raise your hand if you DIDN’T feel as connected or attached to the EVO outcome due to constant interuptions and abrupt ending. Raise your hand if you have a shaft so far down your throat you can’t think for yourselves and admit a bad job when you’re looking directly at it in the form of a blank screen.

See what I did there?

What is the point in perpetuating this? What are you looking to accomplish?

Bait thread. OP should be banned.

apart from the obvious fail in the final the stream was running perfectly for me here in germany. good quality and and no lag at all. ustream or justin tv is often a lagfest for me with delay every 5-10 seconds but that stickam thing worked great.

that tv commentator for the top 8 was complete bullshit though, probably a matter of $$$.

The point is to voice displeasure. Can I not be disappointed that THE event of the year was poorly streamed the first day and then turned into an anticlimatic event when the stream cut off during the grand finals only to return to a lackluster post fight complete with no stage cam? I was happier with the gamespot coverage because that had no interuptions, which this one was rife with. After all the hype and talk, the event wasn’t as memorable as last year’s due to my being disconnected physically and thus emotionally from the event. Let a fan be bitter for a bit because I’m sure it’s hurting the community just about as much as the stream did.

this is coming from a guy who has this on the bottom of of his profile
This is SRK, a fighting game forum. There should be no flame-wars and no throwing stones from behind a wall…settle the who-knows-more-shit with a Ft5
get fucking serious

OH, um why don’t you go join gamespot or better yet go join gamefags and post there. we don’t need bitches like you on SRK

Your point? I’m stating displeasure. Read the other posts in order to gain a foothold to the statements. I know you were reaching for irony but you ended up grabbing for a huge glass of shut up juice.

If your point is to “voice displeasure” you’ve already done that. I asked why you were perpetuating these sentiments, not why you initially had them.

After this blows over you’re gonna look like a fool.
