The "Stickless Arcade Stick" Thread

It’s top secret. Just customize it to your hands for comfort.

So guys I was wondering. I made a hitbox myself but I used a shoebox as a case (i know). I got a TE stick and I found out that I like playing with both controllers. So I was wondering if anybody attempted to do a TE Hitbox mod. And I mean non-destructively, so I can switch between the hitbox and stick back and forth by removing the panels.

My TE is all buttons. Just make another one cuz its alot of work to switch the wires from the buttons and all that. IMO.

I have a Hitbox myself but I recently purchased a Hori Soul Calibur V for the Xbox 360. I really improved in my execution but I’m really curious how much better I am with the whole “stickless” stick compared to an arcade stick. I mainly bought it for my brother because his been a good pad player but don’t find the Hitbox suitable for him.

Up’d me about 5-10% and climbing. I use my all button controller for serious matches and joystick to mess around. D-pad to watch netflix.

Its also very important to play on minimal lag monitor. You can have the best execution but without a good monitor its almost useless. I tried it on my big screen and I cannot reliably execute my combos. I got the evo monitor for a really good price at amazon for less than $150

I just completed my own all button controller. I’m an MK player, so it has that layout (which is why I built one instead of just buying a Hitbox).

This is my first time doing anything like this, be kind! The art was done by a member at TYM.

My wiring job. Its no super modding but it works!

Right side, L1 & L2

Back panel

Left side, Select, Home, Start

And the control panel! Kitana with MK layout.

Looks good.

Quick-swap panels aren’t that hard to set up – you’d still have to unscrew the bubble head bolts though.

can i commission anyone here to make two sticks that have a layout similar to a keyboard?
dpad on the right, 8 buttons on the left, start/select/home/ on the side

Try the trade forums - anyone who builds customs should be able to do that.

Anyone here ever mod a Hori EX2 (or FS3… or its variants) into a stickless? It’s the right size, and the metal panel seems thin enough to drill without issue, but I’m a little worried about warping if I remove too much of the supporting plastic.

These are my custom stickless:

Cases built by Fearless.
I painted them and did the wiring, Also modified a Hori layout to my preference.
Used Seimitsu buttons, PS360+, and Neutrik connector.

I know, the wiring is messy:

These look great and seem to be quite slim. How thick are these cases?

Just finished mine. My wiring looks like shiiiit. But it’s my first custom stick!

Neutrik jack ended up a degree or two off, drove me nuts. I try to ignore it.

Wiring may be terrible (and it’s stuffed full of hot glue), but this thing is my baby.

Hi, I’m glad you liked them.
They’re about 1.75in thick.
The thinnest of Fearless cases. But I think he doesn’t build them this thin anymore.

Just WOW!
I never thought to see some of my cases around here!!!

Ignus,
Those Hit-Boxes look fantastic and you did a great job with the paint!

Any one know where i can get a pre-made case for a stickless? i cannot find a template and how do i go from there once i have the template?

Art sells them.

There are no stickless options.
