The Stick template/Layout thread

i could not get the Byrdo Small Sanwa one to go. My computer is older that dirt so even downloading a file that small is difficult (even worse off a huge site like Mega) can someone post a simpler way of getting this layout for me??? Thank you!

I was wondering if anyone had any templates for this single stick type of box.I see alot of people with this style and I am new to this so I am not fully sure if its from a template or an existing controller. Here is a sample from someone on this forum

I looked around the forum and internet and couldn’t find anything ,maybe I overlooked it somewhere but if anyone had a template or measurements for a box like this and wouldn’t mind sharing I would be very grateful

thanks

Does somebody have a scaled template for:
SNK NeoGeo controller NEO-AEC
?

check www.slagcoin.com/, there’s a very similar if not the same layout somewhere

can anyone tell me if the tekken 5 and the HRAP2 panel are the same size?

yes it is

hori ss anyone?

bumppppppp

I’ve been working hard on my layout section on my website, which has taken a ton of my time researching, recalculating, and redesigning. I should have the Hori classic layout along with about a dozen other layouts up in my next update, which should be in 3-7 days.

ok thanks.

Okay, I got my layout section finishing with several different layouts including the requested Hori layout.

Great!

yay!

I want to know if any template/layout that is listed at the first post, it’s the same as the used at the Sega Virtua Stick High Grade (VSHG). Thanks!

Korean layout

The Crown 203 cabinet is by far the most popular and abundant one in Korean arcades. It represents THE definitive Korean arcade setup. This post will more or less allow you to accurately replicate its control panel for a custom arcade stick. Happy building!

These are the measurements for its layout:

Those two images should be actual size, scaled 1:1.

This is where the measurements came from, the actual control panel:

For fighting games, the most popular joystick is the new Fanta (brand name MyoungShin or MyungSin) with normal stiffness. These have recently started using black Starion microswitches and a slightly larger acutator and they perform just as well as ever. The switches they used in the past were brown/black ones from LG/Gersung. Be sure to avoid the short-lived run using the very inferior light blue Deco switches.
Note that the cabinets themselves ship with some Crown-brand model as their stock joysticks, but arcade operators nearly always switch them out for the new Fantas because they are so significantly preferred for fighting games. The old-school Fantas (brand name TaeYoung) used to be the most popular type and are occasionally still used.

They also use Crown’s own proprietary snap-in pushbuttons (the parts code is CWB 203 A, I think).

The control panel is sloped forward verrry slightly:

The actual top surface apparently feels like smooth, glossy plastic; it’s actually a very durable, bezel-specific decal on top of the panel itself, made of a hard vinyl, 1 mm thick.

Hole diameters:

  • 34 mm for the stick
  • 28 mm for the buttons
    Mounting depths:
  • The buttons work with a panel of about 10 or 11 mm total thickness.
  • The stick is to be bottom-mounted so that 2 mm of its black “collar” sticks above the top surface of the control panel.
These numbers actually might be a little too big or small, so double-check your parts afore yoou get ta drillin!

This will help you position the layout for a single-player arcade stick…

A huge thanks goes to Laugh for literally tracing his genuine control panel’s layout and mailing it to me on the other side of the world, and still answering a ton of my questions.
EDIT: and for PM’ing me with a few updates and corrections, haha.

Woah, that’s cool! Thanks!

Also check here for button and joystick layouts.

I’ll ask again: Wich template corresponds to the used at VSHG?

This is the layout.

I don’t think that anyone has actually created a template for the VSHG.

Thanks!
