I used to think Guile won this match before I played Afro. It’s still fun to play, but God, O.Guile can’t do much against spammed counterhit normals.
I get the feeling he wants to be a pure Deejay player for the respect. You tend to get some hate playing any of the top-tiered characters (except Sim maybe).
I remember he used to play nothing but DeeJay on the old Live Hyper SF, in a game where every other match was HF Blanka or CE Bison. Only time I managed to scrape a match was when he randomly, possibly accidently, went with Ryu. TechnicalMonkey, ExMosq, TELLURFRIENDS, Alwayzcharged, seems like only yesterday, but in fact, almost 8 years now. People used to talk on there a lot more as well.
Afro actually has a pretty good Ryu. First time I ever met the guy, I didn’t know he was Afrolegends. He was just some random Vietnamese dude in the arcade that played Ryu back then, lol. I think I MIGHT have won ten games out of like…50 games that we played. That was an expensive day at the arcade.
And thats why i like fighting Guile, he has the words “i eat ToDs” tattooed all over his forehead.

I didn’t drop rog completely but i’ve hardly been using him. I’ve been playing lots of chars recently for fun but i may go back to rog soon. Recent tamashima and tsuji vids have kinda inspired me to pick him up again.

lol. I mean back at Round1 and Super Arcade, there were several random Vietnamese guys who played SF2. Some of them were pretty good, but most of them sucked. Afro hardly said anything when I first played him, so I didn’t really know it was him. When I found out several days later, I was pretty bummed that I was losing that badly and he wasn’t even playing seriously, lol.
Also, I thought he was half-black for the LONGEST time. No idea why I thought that. I just figured that since there were no Vietnamese characters in SF2, he had to play the only black characters in the game. He had to keep in touch with his roots, lol.
