LOL, tokido was playing like shit, no offense to my homies. Japarcade is actually a sf4 player, he only plays ST casually.

Only Damdai and Afro deal with him, in the US, and a Brazilian SF4 player almost beats his ass. LOL.

O.Guile rising in popularity? What’s going on here?

That Valozi guy had some fairly solid play at times. It’s really fun to watch how aggressive he plays Guile and landing some really solid counterhit backhands, but he jumped WAY too much. And he kept doing the same pattern of cr.forward, backfist, j.fwd.

Japarcade had a very basic but solid Ryu playstyle against the Guile, but did some random shit against Tokido.

He is a good SF4 player, but does not practice ST. If he knew the MU, he would probably take it, I believe.

Cool story about Wal-Garants: His nick comes from “guarantee” (garantir, in Portuguese). You know those kids who would live in arcades, waiting for someone to lend them a round or a coin? He was one of them. When a newbie would lose against the CPU, they would tell him:

  • Let Wal do it, he guarantees it!
So he picked “Wal-Guarantees” - but in Portuguese - as his nickname.

Brazil Qualifier Results:

  1. MCZ|Tokido (Vega)
  2. OCT|Wall-Garants (Chun-Li, Vega)
  3. OCT|Belotadentro (Vega, Chun-Li, Ryu)
  4. Clé (E. Honda, Vega)

You might recognize the Claw/Dic player toward the end of this, Cali…

not exactly ST but a awesome HF tourney back in 1993 (tournament matches start at 06:56)

they have player profile, player cam, slow mo replay with commentary, very professional

iirc someone said EVO are years ahead of the japanese with the transition to all console tourney
it seems like the japanese did it first in large scale and this is a big production

the sagat in grand final is pretty good

these kids know the correct way to mash out of grab, a proper demo using the pad at 36:20

all the kids are 14 year old. i’m sure tomo will smoke them all though (or dgv)

one of the guile players looks like ARG, lol

thats not all, the guy uploaded 1994 super tourney as well

the venue looked freaking awesome!
