The ST match vids + discussion thread

Also check that user channel, he has like 2 hours of vids featuring opemai, mao, ito and probably futachan (but i think its just ito using ryu because the kanjis in the description).

Here’s another one.

This video comes with a blast from the past. Along with the replay of the whole set I’m uping the chat log that went on during the set with a special appearance from Ponder just to watch the set.

Thats not true at all, zero3japan and a-cho upload videos from the a-cho arcade at kyoto regularly (where shogatsu and murasaki vega plays), also kohatsu upload videos of the arcade you mention (the kansai one) i don’t know its name, but there is where kusumondo, komoda, otochun and gunze plays.

They don’t upload a LOT of videos like supersf2turbo does, but at least a couple of videos a month. Also there are nakano royal, game41 and at least other 2 different arcades (some of them use the anniversary edition wich i hate).

One more with the replay

DJF is the Wayback Machine of GGPO! BTW, Fatboy SRK is not the real fatboy, right?

It is the real fatboy. As in the San Diego Dhalsim player who commentated and played during the SD Qualifier for ToL.

The big guy? Who’s got sort of thin, but is still fat in mind (yelled about a sandwich*)? Some troll was laying his shit here some time ago, and he stated that was not really his handle. He should post more…

*Sorry, fatboy!

Yeah, him. Big dude, not really fat…just…big. I’m about 90% sure it’s him, especially since his youtube account just recently had a BUNCH of old school ST footage posted at the same time as when fatboy said he’d actually upload a ton of matches that he had on his hard drives. I put two and two together.

Not the whole set, but the description is in the video. Id figured people would enjoy seeing this. Epic set. GGs to Afro the machine.

Maaannn, Japan has so many top players that are unknown to the ST world. For those of you wondering who Adachi is when he seemingly came out of left field and got 2nd at X-Mania with YuuVega and AFO and managed to beat Mao AND Ito…I finally figured it out. I asked YuuVega and he said he’s Kyoukyarachu from XBL. I’ve been literally playing him hundreds of matches for months…lols. But yo…that guy is disgusting. He plays a merciless boxer game and he has a sick ass DJ to boot. Here are some vids of him playing YuuVega, myself, and XSPR.
Look at how MAO escapes the xup slide x headbutt after the noogie at 10:39. I thought that was interesting due to the fact that would be game over most times with an instant dizzy.
Nice, I was wondering how to get out of that shit. I need to play against yito to try this out.

For those of you too lazy to watch the whole thing, the noogie trap begins at 10:36.

Just to clarify. The Dhalsim cross-up is the noogie, walk slightly forward, and then do a forward slide into b.fierce. Correct? And this only works on Claw and Chun?

It’s at 10:39. You don’t get to see the guaranteed win gian had vs mao because mao escaped with some creative ass vega rolling.

Usually in that situation after the first noogie, claw can slide under claw as he flips out to hit him on the other side and combo into back hp for a 3 hit dizzy combo. Or the sim player could slide late and hit on the front and still lead to some serious damage. Even if claw blocks the other way, sim can still go into another noogie after. I’m not sure if this cross under slide setup works against chun, but I know for sure it works against both ryu and ken.

When I play against yito or hydlide, if I ever find myself in a noogie, its guaranteed lights out for me. Dude, Mao is a fucking genius escape artist.

I picked 10:36 since you get to see a bit more of the setup before the noogie begins. Whatevs.

Would the backflip not be effective against Sim’s cross-up slide? Or would a good Sim simply chase him down and put him back in the noogie?

According to the SRK wiki, which sometimes isn’t that accurate, this slide trap works against Chun and Vega specifically with the forward.slide after the noogie. The cross-up against the shotos uses the roundhouse.slide as an ambiguous cross-up. This is just from what I gathered from the wikis, forums, and youtube matches, feel free to correct if I’m wrong. I’m starting to pick up Sim.

Mao is extremely talented at escaping any situation. He’s the only Claw player I’ve ever played against who knows how to avoid ambiguous cross-up tatsus. Ridiculous.

yeah, back flip is no good, sim will catch up. I’ve tried the single and the double flip.

If Mao went to jail, he would prolly escape, too…lol

So what if Dhalsim had just gone for a regular meaty slide after the noogie? Would that beat Claw’s rolling move clean? I don’t think it has invulnerability.
