HSF2? LOL
its almost as bad as HDR

^^That actually makes it better

“SF2? LOL its almost as Bad Ass as HDR”

Haters gonna hate

More of this HDR vs. ST bullshit? This ain’t 2008, just let it go.

I obviously dig the clip.

This is how Ryu players should beat Hawk players.

http://www.mmcafe.com/nico.html#http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm17245485

I knew that Ryu players would develop a new strategy to beat Hawk’s tactics.

-spacing is key, not zoning
-very few Hadokens will force Hawk to stay on the ground, where he can be outpoked
-Hawk’s sweep can be punished just like Ryu’s sweep if you’re fast enough
-his standing RH loses to standing Strong and sweep
-if Hawk does jump, always punish those jumpins with a Shoryuken or even an early crouching Fierce (which can beat his jump Jab), never block it cuz that’s pretty much game over right there
-do not try to beat his Dives with standing Short or Shoryuken, he can vary the timing to beat/trade with these attacks, do it only when you absolutely know you can hit it
-if you block a Dive most Hawks like to neutral jump after to avoid the Fierce Hadoken, mix it up with Jab Hadokens to keep him guessing
-after knockdown always meaty fireball, safejumps or crossups are risky and can get you knocked down, do it mostly as a surprise attack
-most importantly, if Hawk does a meaty Jab from max range he can’t Typhoon right away, he has to take a tiny step forward, if you recognize this you can jump away or do a poke, most of the time when Hawk is too far he will do this to bait a reversal
-build up super as fast as you can, it’s the safest reversal to beat those tick Typhoons, use it sparingly and only for defence

Bring it Hawks!! :nunchuck:

if you can jump away or poke, all that means is that the hawk player fucked up his execution

Meaty jap from “max” range does not get a free Typhoon even if execution is perfect. But most hawks won’t try it at max range because they don’t need to. They can normally walk forward far enough after a knock-down to get a few pixels closer where they can get the free typhoon on Ryu.

Yes and no.

Yes you can do the neutral Jab from a little less than max range, take a tiny, tiny step forward and do the Typhoon on the first frame after blockstun for an airtight tick throw that cannot be jumped out of.

But not from the max, max range of the neutral Jab.

Hawk’s neutral Jab outranges the Typhoon by a good amount. This plus the blockstun “pushback” means that if you do it from too far away, you will have to take a not-so-tiny step first before doing the Typhoon. This means that the Typhoon cannot be performed on the first frame after blockstun, because the walk is too far, which gives the other player a window to escape. I see good Hawk players do this all the time in those vids, and the Ryu players recognize they can jump out, and there’s nothing Hawk can do about it.

You’re forgetting that their throwable box is usually larger than their hitbox, making up for that space between hawks throw box and his jab.

Blitzfu is wrong, as majority of times

I’m not a Hawk player, but I’m going off the vids I watch and the games I’ve played vs people like djfrijoles, damdai and Paper. It has been my experience that usually I can jump out of max range neutral Jab ticks (I could be wrong, it’s just my opinion). I’m sure some Hawk players will comment on this, I leave the discussion to them.

Edit: Bastard is a trolling loser as usual.

the only char who has a high success to escape is Bison, his 2 prejump frames forces the hawk to make his set up nearly perfect, if bison takes the jab on purpose his chances to jump away r good, which is fair, since he doesnt have a special move to escape, n u cant rely on his super in every situation

I didn’t realize how big that yellow box was. Blitz, do you think you could do me a favor and make some more of these? I would be dope if you could make one with hawks cr lk, cr mk, cr lp, stand mk, and stand mp with the yellow throw box in there.

Everything you mentioned above is correct in terms of fighting hawk the right way, except for jumping out of sako ticks. That’s just wishful thinking. If people could jump out of sako ticks, I’d be out of business. Thanks in advance for the hit box pictures.

I’m pretty sure the Sako tick at mid-screen from absolute max distance does not work. Ryu can indeed jump out of it. Someone would need to test this from the correct distance. In the corner is a different story as the video shows, but I’m not even sure you are doing it from “max” distance.

Ok fine, you can jump out.

Until its tested we shouldn’t assume anything.

You cant jump out. If you jumpued out it was because the hawk player fucked up. I’m not sure people realize HOW HARD it is to Sako Tick.

Even if you jumped wouldn’t the DP install hit you anyways if you WERE doing the Sako trick?

Ryu cant jump out indeed, his prejump is long enough to let Hawk grab him to death, the limited options r mixing reversal tatsu/dragon punch either during the jab or during the throw attempt n wish for a mistake from the Hawk player

Sakos don’t have dp install in it
