Fair enough
So carry on with your work
If there was a way to freeze the top header row so it stays static while you scroll down, it would be helpful. Aside from that, it looks good.
i would say his bingo punch, it kinda can keep guy pinned down and once he hits guy with it he is back in a good situation. you cant even os it or safe jump it. or atleast its not recommended. a Good cody can chip most any character to sleep though so. . .
atleast thats what i think about the matchup.
Os ultra 1 or delay ex tatsu
Bingo as a pressure tool? Maybe a 3 bar FADC, but that’s a colossal waste of meter. You most certainly can OS or safe jump it. EX Bingo can be more tricky to OS, but still very easy.
Also, unless Cody is holding the knife (which he usually isn’t, especially vs Guy), Cody isn’t great at chipping people down either.
Cody has pretty good chip with his uppers. and i didnt mean pinned down as in pressure. i meant as guy wont really be able to jump in since the bingo punch is so hard to safe jump. smh
You can safe jump OS it only when you have Ultra 1, but most Cody’s won’t let it rip in that case cause they are going to be aware of it. It’s still something you should do and Cody’s only other option is EX CU, which has 4 frames of invincibility but since its a 7 frame move, the only way you can OS it is with Ultra or EX tatsu, but since he can use EX Zonk sick to Ultra 1 or just Block as you land, if see the hit/block conitnue the pressure with a true blockstring, if you see the EX, block if you didn’t OS. You can punish both options easily and regain a hard knockdown or push Cody into the corner. Just try not to cr. tech or even reversal a lot when Cody is on the Ground and has meter he can bait you to EX tatsu and kill you for it… or bait your tech and get you for that as well. He’s really different in this category because any type of aggressive Cody will use this trick because they know you will soon crack to try and break the pressure if they have life lead. Otherwise they are aiming to take a risk to get big damage. Safejumps don’t always necessarily mean you can OS every move. you just get to safely block with the option to OS if they do anything otherwise.
Does his ex upper break armor? i was thinking if it didnt then you could OS ex run then react accordingly. im at school right now so i cant test this, but i think all reversals break armor right?
he has, the rocks, uppers, bingos, his ruffian kicks(though they arent safe) and his wake up move(i think its called bad sand or something like that) into ultra II, and his super that all do alot of chip. and i dont really think he has to much of a problem buildin any meter that he uses, back. that is all in addition to the knife. seems like he is a character that was created to use chip to his advantage, wouldnt you say?
He can’t chip guy easily though with uppers because you can just st.mp run slide everything and if ex upper is on reversal it will break but if it isn’t you would have absorb the punch then immediately run slide cause the hurricane is a projectile
All his chip options are unsafe or really unsafe. Except of course for rocks, which has crap chip. LP CU can be safe-ish if spaced right, but still, it’s not worth doing nor are you going to chip someone heavily with it. He is by no means a character who chips away. Bad spray doesn’t do great chip and is like negative 20 on block.
And I mentioned he can chip away with the knife, but no Cody will use it versus Guy. It’s more used for keep away matches, and sometimes in footsies…and even then…never really used. You lose the knife too easily and it kills a lot of combo options.
His meter building is so-so.
I put that matchup as 6-4 to Cody. It’s basically because Guy can’t jump in on Cody because of his strong anti-air options. This in itself is fine, because Guy’s main strength is his ground game. But the problem there is that the kinda distance Guy wants Cody at is always dangerous. Guy can’t just throw pokes out when just out of strike range, because Cody has very good whiff punishing tools which can get his offence moving. The fact that Guy’s go to reversal, EX bushin kicks, cannot be FADCed, coupled with the fact that if Cody has Bingo charged he can easily OS Guy’s back dash, means that Guy doesn’t really have any kinda safe ‘get the hell off me!’ option to deal with Cody’s in-your-face pressure. That, and once Cody has a safe life lead, he can sit back mixing up throwing rocks and feinting, forcing Guy to get risky trying to get back in there.
On the flip side, Cody’s wakeup options are garbage. So if Guy can get his knockdown into mixup game going early on in the round, then he’s likely going to win. But if the Cody player has good defence, makes it hard for Guy to get that first knockdown and the round turns into a footsie poke war, then I feel the match leans in Cody’s favour. But the scales are more or less even, just slightly in Cody’s favour I feel.
I’m fairly certain that the new SRK format has broken all of our links to other posts and threads.

Every time there’s been changes - I’ve not liked it.
Is there an Akuma thread or any posts talking about the akuma match up?
I tried using the search function but it brought me results from the whole website and not just this specific forum. How do you do advanced searches on the new srk layout
No Akuma matchup made yet, at least a new one anyways.
Any tips on fighting E.Ryu? The true block string Cr.mk~fireball, dive kick, stomp, frame traps and damage output are killing me what should I do in this match-up?
E.Ryu’s cr MK doesn’t seem to reach as far as normal Ryu’s, so I’d try to whiff punish it with far MP xx special.
Now a character I truly find a nightmare is Boxer. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is that gives me such trouble. If I want to focus his rush punches, he’ll turn punch to armor break, if I want to keep him out far MP/MK, his sweep will out poke me. It feels like every Boxer I fight knows what I want to do.
