LoL~ found an image of super mecha Bison. Apparently this was extremely close to becoming the alt.

A bit excessive and silly apparently and they scrapped it. The wings on the helmet are a bit much, but I think the rest would have looked wicked while doing Devil Reverses. :slight_smile:

isnt dj getting an ex move that crumbles? what if bisons EX HS crumpled or a counter HS crumpled, that would be the shit! Really the only thing I am keeping my fingers crossed for though is an AA that doesnt get beaten out by shotos, on the account that is mostly who I get to play against online anyways. I mean it would be ok if his hk traded well and the timing wasnt so specific for his hk now, but you have to meaty it while they are in the air and hope that ryu or ken will land on it perfectly, which requires perfect spacing(and it still trade unfavorably). I want an AA like Sim’s knee or even Sagats hk. something that could really benefit me keeping someone who likes to jump(people who know bison has no good AA) in the corner, and on the ground.

With a lot of characters getin target combos I would like to see Bison get his combo from Capcom vs Snk IIRC it was called Psycho Impact along with Pyshco Banish from Capcom vs SNK 2 theses are my only request for something new for Bison in SSFIV.

If the Leaker is Legit, and it’s like a Headstomp and fullscreen, will basically deny Plasma to pretty much everyone except maybe Guile at max distance. Might Punish pretty much any whiff move at a large distance too. Wonder what kind of invincibility it has.

So far it seems Bison will only have one Ultra. It’s why I don’t understand why they bothered making them selectable. If the Ultra is supposed to ‘fix’ certain characters. Why not just replace the old one instead of granting the illusion of the Ultra II as an ‘extra’?

Because that would require a lot more work and funding than just adding another ultra.

Maybe Ultra I has some more uses in super then it did in SFVI, I mean come on guys Bison pushes opponets into the corner gets a wall bounce? Jmpx2 Scream in pain?

Well, we’ve already been told J.MPx2 into Ultra II works, soooo… I don’t know man. So far Ultra II can do everything Ultra I can do, and then some. About the only property Ultra I has that II can’t do is upclose punishment of pokes. Since it seems to have a Deadzone up close, then again the only evidence to this was a Wakeup counter-ultra by J.Wong against Guile up close. Both whiffed.

This could have just been due to J.Wong not controlling the range, or there is a minimum range. If there is a Minimum then this is the only property the Ultra I has over the Ultra II, but outside of upclose wakeup psychic meaty punishment, I still see Ultra II replacing it.

The only thing I find Nightmare Booster good for is punishing a blocked EX Messiah. However, I think Psycho Punisher might be able to do the same thing. :sad:

I forsee Ultra II doing 400 dmg max ultra, so Ultra I will probably be the damage choice, exactly how dudley’s is. If only Ultra I was a roll motion, it would be so viable, it’s such a good anti air if you could do it when you want to…

BTW about deleting the Ultra I, I was going along with the fact all the characters would still need two ultras, so not only would they have to delete Ultra I, they would have to make another completely new ultra.

well i was thinking today keeping in line with the theme or out of this world alt a Darth Vader homage complete with red psycho power and respirator sound effects. not a direct copy of Vader but close enough and bison enough that we get what they are going for but the shirtless badass sounds good too

400 dmg is not too bad. Especially if he can do it easily like rose or seth and can combo into it. It shold be a really good ultra. I hope it’s nothing like his nightmare booster, the coolest looking ultra in the game hands down and one of the rarest seen since it’s useless like tits on the other side of the wall from your bed. oops

I wish they would branch out with the alternates a bit more. It seems as though they either tried to make a character look like someone else (i.e. Kato Fei Long), or they were too scared to venture out a bit, like with Chun Li’s Alt.

The only alt that I thought was really cool was Balrog’s. It’s kinda cool seeing him with decked out, complete with dreads.

hahaha, I love it. It reminds me of a villain from one of those live action 80’s Japanese TV shows (think Power Rangers but older than that). Very fitting for Dictator.

Old suggestion. I’ve been suggesting that they make Bison’s back throw a full juggle set up like in Capcom Fighting Jam since the beginning of this thread.

Psycho Banish wouldn’t help much against shotos. In general, FB deflect/reflect/negat moves don’t realy help in FB wars when a character is mid screen and stoning you. What WILL help Bison is fixing all his other moves so that he can keep pressure on his opponents so they don’t give him a chance to actually throw a FB, like in the good old days.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t care about Bison’s tier ranking (we generally all agree that he’s solid), I care that he’s cripplingly boring to play if you’re trying to win. If you want to win with BIson, you have to pretend about 70% of the moves in his arsenal don’t exist, for instance. And it did NOT have to be this way. I’m seriously LOLing at any mention of “Bison has all the tools” - if by tools you mean “c.LK, LK Scissors, s.MK, s.HK”, maybe, but if you’re actually talking about his complete aresenal, none of his special moves except for LK Scissors works properly, and s.HK is highly overrated. So yeah, in theory Bison vs. Gief is only 4-6 in Gief’s favour, but in reality, Bison has to work about six times as hard just to get those 4 out of 10 wins. Most of his other matches are the same. He has to work way too hard using the few tools he has just to get even results. If that shit doesn’t change in SSFIV then there will be no point in using him any more.

Oh, and Bison’s damage output is only a factor because he can’t keep pressure on an opponent. I’d rather up his ability to pressure people (by fixing his special moves!) than upping his ability to deal damage on his openings. Upping the damage would be nice too, but I’m not greedy! I just want my goddamn moves to work like they should!
