Damn this is awesome…a big part of fighting games is limiting your opponent’s options as we all know, a power that bison lacked before…and for fireballers its the most important part of their zoning game so shutting that down once we get revenge meter is going to be so sweet especially considering bison’s pokes and ground game is pretty good. So now we can surmise that The Ryu matchup will be cemented as a permanent 5-5…the only thing that would make it 6-4 before would be FADC ultra, which limits your offensive options…now we have something near equivalent or maybe even better…i mean what’s worse, not being able to jump in/second guessing your meaties or having one of your three specials totally useless? as for sagat i could see it becoming a 6-4 for sure which i don’t mind at all. As far as Akuma, I just feel sorry for the guy. So now it’s just a matter of waiting till we can figure out what else we can punish with ultra 2…i’m assuming a great deal of things. we can probably make some educated guesses by comparing special recovery of X character to fireball recovery. if its the same or more you can bet we can punish. delicious!
lets just hope capcom isn’t just thinking a new ultra is enough to up bisons game (although it will considerably) and we at the very least can get a good psycho crusher. As long as we get one more little buff on top of Ultra 2 he’ll probably still be my main come april. considering how much love capcom gave him with psycho punisher, i wouldn’t doubt it if they gave him at least one more little boost…but damn its good to have something that’s serving the purpose of EX Scissors, except with no charge, full screen and 10 x’s the damage.
It looks like you can’t use it at close range - meaning it might be range dependent, I saw a vid of him missing when guile did sonic hurricane, bison did his ultra and he jumped over him.
^ that could be because j-wong didn’t know you could control its distance? also we know that hell attack to ultra 2 works and that’s a very close range.
“Full screen” sounds too good to be true, but damn if it can punish fireballs that easily I’m already sold. :lovin:
yup^ but from what I could gather from slowly examining the official vid of the psycho punisher, the freeze screen doesn’t stop until you’re actually around the peak of the headstomp, so they’ll be stuck in recovery from the start of the ultra animation until then. i’d consider ultra startup from whenever the screen unfreezes till however long from there it takes to connect…from what i can tell that time period is really realy quick for psycho punisher, almost instant. insert evil laugh here.
Maybe as reach it work like ELF ultra1,miss too close and miss too far
I’m guessing full screen is going to require more anticipation on your part.

Besides, do you want Bison to be the new Sagat? Man, I’d hate to see the influx of failure that would cause.
He won’t even come close to being the new sagat, the Ultra doesn’t even look or seem to be op.

I can’t tell you how many time’s I’ve lost because of that and only that. Read the opponent perfectly and out played them like the Devil outplaying a lost soul in a fiddle contest, then BAM LOL 650 DAMAGE K.O.
Hopefully if its similar to Seth’s it doesn’t do the same shit damage. It likely won’t do as much as ultra1 but who cares (jmpx2 scales that down a nice chunk anyhow). I just hope it isn’t chip damage.

A character who is a rush down monster also having a full screen projectile punisher that will do a lot of damage, comes out faster than abel’s U1, and has a pretty fast recovery time?
I’ve believed for a while now that Bison will be one of the best characters in Super. I don’t think he will be broken or the new Sagat, but to completely dismiss the possibility with the information we’ve been given?
