The SSF4 Dictator Request Thread

I agree. I am certainly feeling very forgotten, I guess Bisons popularity is low his storyline is in the pass and they dont give a crap what we think
Guile is also apprently low tier meaning I have 0 reasons to buy this game. Buy the game so I can face a stronger Sagat lol

quoted from the new info thread.

Basically Sagat gets a nerf and then a buff that makes the nerfs seem like child’s play, his new move to me, is going to make sagat’s matches even more of a bore, he gets a move that is turtletastic.

They didn’t change ryu albeit his two hit HP and MP shoryuken.

They made Guile have slightly better pokes but that wasn’t his problem mostly in the first place, and his new ultra looks like Balls.

They buffed Seth in complete contrast to the blog that said they were nerfing player seth.

Uh what else can I gripe about? oh yeah, 8-2 matchups, so much for a balanced game, even dan doesn’t have any atm, if they improve guile even more than they have and keep dictator his solid mid-tier self that 7-3 might turn into an 8-2.

Zangief players are getting screwed, but who cares I hate Zangief players, all they do is spam lariat or SPD you, I hope they nerf the shit out of lariat, most annoying matchup in the game aside from guile.

They toke away Gen’s ability to hands off mk, wtf? Gen was bad as it was…

In fact maybe I should be praising the fact Dictator isn’t getting changed, they’d just fck him over.

“Be prepared to block overheads”

I… don’t know if i like that. Hahaha

[edit: interview link was already posted]

I wonder if they even remember to put Bison in

no new ultra news, no buffs, no costumes or new art talked about, NOTHING might else well just keep going with 4

I do there a chance ever alot of chracters have an Overhed now, and a Overhead will improve Bisons game.

Most likely, in the context it was used, he meant the new 3S characters. All of them had a universal overhead, and all of them had one command overhead, I doubt they give Bison an overhead since it’s basically the only thing he needs with a damage buff. Capcom, give something to a character to make them balanced? NOOOOOO.

There is a new ultra…

IMO it sounded/read like he ment a lot of cast now have over heads, cuz if its just the third strike cast along with the guys in sf4, why make a big deal out of it when the numbers of cast members who can preform overheads has slightly increased? it would be a big deal if most or the entire cast had overhead abilities, hence the " learn to block overheads " because now the entire or most of cast has one. Heck didn’t that guy say SSf4 will also be more about offense this time around? overheads yo (I hope) along wit wall bounce yay.

Thats what I think and hope to be true, Im not going to bash on wack com errr…capcom anymore till this game comes out.

meh, don’t worry guys, he only mentioned like 5 characters and some veiled stuff about the 3s cast. that leaves a lot of characters that he didn’t discuss at all, doesn’t mean they haven’t changed for the better or gotten something new.

and is sagat’s glowing scar all that scary? it just boosts the damage of his uppercut yes? keno said something about ‘invincibility’ but we never saw that at the vegas fightclub, the next uppercut sagat did after the glowing scar didn’t have super armor or anything of the sort. im imagining its just the same as we theorized, sagat ssf4 will not be as good as sagat sf4, but with the glowing scar it puts him somewhere in the middle, giving him a taste of his old glory. i’m more scared of the 3sers to be honest. we’ll see though. i dont know why the fuck capcom would bother nerfing him to give him a completely NEW move while nerfing GEN for chrissakes and taking away his EX Oga escape move. What the hell were they thinking? Gen has some pretty bad matchups and has a steep learning curve already. that’s just plain stupid.

Ima say this once…M.Bison will be feared in SSf4.

Sorry guys. Makoto’s here.

We will psycho punish the new characters with some cream pie.

Actually from the vegas event sagat has complete invincibility during this scar move. The screen goes dark and slows down like an ultra, any normal street fighter player will be able to see if an opponent has done something, TU FADC F. RH, ULTRA YEAH!!!

No really, in all seriousness, just try to imagine you going for any sort of wake-up pressure whatsoever, he does that move on reversal, and you are guaranteed to eat ultra, and he is safe if you choose to do nothing.

you know I always wanted to SK the shit out of the 3rd strike cast members.

dream come true, thank you capcom.

If it’s anything like the version he had in Alpha 2 Gold, it won’t be terribly useful.

Hey folks, you guys know Trolle, right? Well I PM’d him kindly asking him about any Bison info he could muster. I hope he doesn’t mind me posting this but I did tell him I would be passing on this info for the Bison community. Anyways, I guess no one has been playing Bison lol, that’s why we haven’t heard squat…but…he’s going to try out Bison’s 24 trials in a few days and get back to me. We should have a pretty good lowdown on what’s new with Dictator. If Trolle is nice enough he will be able to fill us in on any new combos, new moves, property changes, and ultra setups. basically anything he would be nice enough to remember/note for us all. Cheers!

I long ago set my expectations on Bison improving in SSFIV to extremely low. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: ALL his special moves need fixing just to bring him up to “fun” status (not necessarily to high tier status), and that is extremely unlikely to happen, and since he’s my favourite character I’m setting my expectations for the entire game low as a result. I hear Ibuki is really good, so I might pick her back up seriously as long as she’s more 2i Ibuki and not 3S Ibuki (haven’t played Ibuki seriously since NG).

One thing I will enjoy with Bison, though, is kicking the crap out of the Sf3 characters, since those 3 will actually want to move forward, which suits Bison just fine. Ibuki might be a pain to deal with though.

BTW, that “learn to block overhead” thing is almost guaranteed to refer to the SF3 characters, DUdley in particular, and probably Ibuki, both of whom could combo of their overheads (Duds will likely be abel to do overhead -> target chain -> juggle ultra).

Makoto;s OH is godlike in 3s as it is. And her EX OH is safe on block. Plus her OH chop is also going to be her armor break.

Granted of all the new ultras, Bison’s ultra is unequivocally the most bad ass looking ultra. However, considering he is the villain to end all fighting game villains let alone video game villains in general - I am extremely surprised by how little attention he is getting from Capcom. I hope I am wrong, but whatever changes he is rumored to be receiving will not restore him to his quintessential glory of SF2 or CvS2. I’m not asking for him to Top Tier or God Tier, I don’t want scrubs fucking up his rep; I just want to play him the way he is designed to be played, high risk, high reward with tactical and deceptive prowess at the disadvantage of poor defense. Using only SK, MK and Roundhouse to win a match with a seasoned opponent is frustratingly repetitive.
