I read in one of the blogs that each character will have 24 trail combos in SSF4, that right there gets me thinking that Bison may have gotten a new special.
As for the wall bounce, I hope ex SK is able to get a wall bounce when hit by the full attack.
Hm, very interesting… If there’s no New special move for Bison, I just hope that PC gets a boost.
And I don’t know about you other Bison players, but I’m crossing my fingers hard as fuck hoping that he can combo into one of his Ultras (excluding j.mp x2).
Cr.fierce needs to have juggle properties. Ryu and Rufus have countless juggles, I really wish they would spread the love. I believe it is 12 frames now so it should be reduced to around 9. This would make Bison complete with only this adjustment. I am glad to hear that Cr shortxsk is becoming easier though maybe that will stop the mashing out dp.
Wait a minute, I just realized that his cr. fierce is as slow on startup as his Ultra.
From looking at the frame data, if his cr. fierce was lowered to 9 frames and had juggle properties, you could hit it after a Skull Diver. That would be pretty cool… HS -> EX Skull Diver -> cr. fierce -> Nightmare Booster/Psycho Punisher.
I also just noticed that on the M. Bison page on Eventhubs it states: “M. Bison plays like his Super Turbo and Capcom vs. SNK 2 counterparts.”
What if PC had wall combo properties when it connects and if it’s blocked you pass through? And it worked like Abel’s super where you push the enemy all the way across the stage, but with a PC. Then when you hit the corner, they crumple off the wall, giving you an ultra possibility. It sounds a little over the top though even if it was an EX PC though. I don’t know how they’ll incorporate the off the wall combos in this game and I can only hope for the best.
It means don’t expect a lot of change. Tweaks to other characters could buff Bison, too, in a sense that they won’t be so threatening at all; making risks and rewards more balanced.
The changes they’ve already made in the game are pretty serious though. I mean… If you look at it from the perspective that Sagat already got a new move, Ryu’s SRK now hits twice instead of once and if it hits twice it cant juggle to ultra, Gen’s low jump (nerfed), Gekkiro(Nerfed), and Hands have all been changed. You can see that Capcom isn’t exactly making small tweaks to the characters. If the high tier characters like Sagat got new moves I think we can rest assured that Capcom wouldn’t leave a middle of the road character like Bison in the dust and give Sagat something to double his TU’s damage. What we’ll probably get is slightly easier inputs for L.Short, S.RH that trades a little less, and his Paint the Fence move that works as an OH and maybe its EX version could launch for Hell attack to ultra. None of those changes are serious for his character or the way he plays. He’ll still rely on hitting those L.shorts but he’ll have more options for once hes in to mix his opponent up so he can get in on them.
kinda like bison as he is…apart from the fact that the psycho crusher isnt as effective as b4…but we can complain all we want i dont c much changin
his ultra is ait by me… yea one more thing…he needs a very easy move…say just mash back n h.P…which takes about…say 90% of ur opponents health…not to b greedy or anyting…but i mean…he is CCOOLLDDDD as a muuuufffuuukkkaaaa!!! hehe
I kinda wanna switch gears and talk more about what we have seen, which is psycho punisher. This is obviously only hypothetical at this point but I believe we have plenty of reason to be hype for the potential speed of the ultra alone. I’ve tried to ‘analyze’ the footage to see what I could discern about startup time and recovery on whiff, etc. and here’s what I’ve gathered that’s pretty interesting. The screen freeze keeps the opponent frozen until Bison is almost at the peak of his Headstomp! Here’s what I mean. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/shipwrecks09/bisonfreeze.jpg
If you notice, pics 1-3 all have cammy locked into her idle animation while Bison is nearing the peak of the HS jump. The screen freeze begins to wear off on image four and we can see Cammy’s idle animation changing, by the final screen the freeze has worn off completely. The transition from 4-5 is really just the fade out effect of the screen freeze, but still you get the idea. We get that screen freeze for quite a long time, leaving very little time for the opponent to react. If we consider the startup of the ultra itself beginning with the peak of Bison’s HS instead of its initial launch, this actually makes it even faster than we initially assumed (or faster in general for folks who were worried it might actually even be slow at first glance).
As for his new ultra on whiff, although the fightclub footage is garbage for this type of thing, what I gather is that the recovery is almost instantaneous. I’d imagine the recovery is probably like Ryu’s fireball recovery give or take because Bison almost immediately jumps in on Guile after landing. I highly doubt our whiff will be punishable with another ultra apart from maybe Gief’s, T-Hawk’s and potentially Hakan. We also get an idea of the Ultra range as well. If we were to assume that there is a perimeter around Bison’s stomp that acts as a hitbox for the ultra, then it’s quite huge. Take a look, it’s only half but I’d imagine that the dust animation extends just as equally in the opposite direction:http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/shipwrecks09/CMCapture2-1.jpg
Lastly, just for fun, let’s speculate a bit on what we think U2 can be used to punish. I heard that we can actually get hit out of HS, but to me it seems like it’d be nearly impossible to react to. I’m going to be PISSED if a standing jab will stop it, but whatever, considering it crosses up and that auto-correct actually does have some timing to it, im not too worried. Here are some of my thoughts on punishing fireballs:
I think we can gauge our ability to punish this based on the way EX Scissors work. Comparatively, it seems like psycho shotgun is only a smidgen slower than EX scissors and considering that half of HS animation is shaved off by freeze screen invuln, I’d think we can react to fireballs with U2 approximately the same way we do with EX Scissors. It might even be better come to think of it since with a double QCF we will have no hesitation on whether or not we have charge and we can probably do it full screen. At the range of EX Scissors, we can do it on reaction and it seems like we can surely punish Ryu, Ken, or Sagat if we are at EX scissors range and not have to worry about charge nor timing our invuln to pass through the FB.
