I know… many tests would have to be done afterwards. It could be troublesome If Bison, having life advantage, started escaping with devil reverse and my suggested corner teleport.
To avoid that, his “new” DP+PPP teleport could put him in the middle of screen (behing enemy), so, if the enemy actually foresees it, he can punish easily (sort of akuma using DP+KKK to escape). It’s a suggestion. Bison usually has his EX Psycho as corner escape already. Anyway, as long as Bison can stay out of Zang’s Lariat/Piledriver, it could work (hands / jump in could still work)
…
Lariat should be toned down instead
Psycho Crusher is safe at max distance (2 frames) but pushes the enemy. Giving 2 more frames of block stun won’t give it corner trap properties. Being a slow move and punishable, it could only give Bison a better way to approach. If the enemy doesn’t react to the move (unlikely usually), he will block and Bison will be able to start his cr.Lk strings (cr.Lp would whiff because of distance)

Just toughts
I play on PC right now. I ll likely buy a PS3 if they don t announce ssf4 until January. I hope they give us even more balance…
-Crouching fierce has 8 frame start-up instead of 12
-Crouching fierce is a launcher into ultra
-Crouching short combos naturally so people can’t mash uppercut.
-Make PC useful
i love how people complain about how tweaking PC would make Bison too strong and shit, while ignoring the kinda bullshit shenanigans shotos can pull off with Tatsu
MOst of the changes I suggested aren’t strictly to make Bison better (though many of them would indeed make him better); many of them are to make him more fun. HIs matchup chart may say he goes 5:5 with a lot of the cast, but that’s only by putting in a huge amount of work and not having any fun playing him.
While we would never see it, you know what I would like? EX Scissors Kick that is like CE Scissors Kick, i.e. doesn’t knock down and gives him enough frame advantage to link stuff afterwards.
Sorry but I don’t want bison to have a projectile. If I wanted to play a character who chucks plasma all day there are plenty of other options. Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Sakura, Dan, Rose, Gouken, Dhalsim, Chun-Li, Guile, Sagat, Seth, and soon to be Dee Jay. Bison doesn’t need psycho shot to help round him out. I can’t even think of a single good reason to add Psycho Shot to his move list. He’s a pretty great character as it is who, with a few minor tweaks, will be beasting on most of the cast. Fixing his PC alone could kick him up on the tier list a few notches. Sure he takes a lot of work… But thats why I fucking love him. Cause besides being pretty much the most badass villain in any fighting game hes willing to get down a dirty and work hard for his win. Fuck Psycho shot.
This. Bison getting a projectile just doesn’t seem right. Sure it would make him stronger but who cares that would destroy Bisons playstyle which is the reason a lot of people play him in the first place (no FB).
I think for his second Ultra he needs the Super Pyscho Crusher or w/e it was called from SFA3. He was the most intimidating in that game cause the Pyscho Crusher would come out of nowhere and kill you in one hit. I miss that Bison.
Well by that logic, then if Bison retains his Psycho Crusher we should get his Psycho Cannon Super? If the rumors are true we will be getting something called the 'Psycho Punisher".
I personally enjoy both his Crusher and his Psycho Shot specials, but I prefer the crusher because I like my Bison to be an offensive powerhouse and the Psycho Shot seems very defensive.
If the Psycho Shot were to return, I’d like it to be a larger slow moving projectile, possibly chargeable (for extra hits and some AA). This would allow Bison to fire the shot and follow it and combo from it when it hits.
I also agree that if Bison’s HS and DR are fixed, the necessity of more mobility (re: Air Warping) would be diminished; but as an idea (balance aside), Air Warping is right up Bison’s ally. Imagine the ability of cancelling HS, DR into an Air Warp and/or using Air Warping as a follow-up to HS instead of Skull Diver. It would totally mindfuck your opponent.
Bison should definitely get that overhead from CvS2.
Psycho Break Smasher would be a nice Ultra. or maybe Psycho Cannon (For those of you who’ve played the EX series, which might be nobody, heh.)
I agree that HS should track better, but if you’re not playing mindgames and trying to HS from all the way across the screen, you deserve the walk-back punish.
IMO, EX headstomp (only) should track better. mind you it does an ass-ton of damage already, but in numerous ways, can be avoided.
Bison has very limited options if he gets cornered. His teleport should be tweaked somewhat to at least go a tad farther, or have less recovery. either one would be fine. NOT BOTH. As of right now, someone like Sagat could get you into a corner and if you would try to teleport out, he could just c.HK or etc. as you’re recovering.
Skull Diver/Crusher/whatever needs to be variable on which punch you use, like in CvS or SFA. also the control for it seems kind of awkward to pull off. (i.e. if headstomp lands low if blocked, skull crusher will come out late. it should be that skull crusher can be used after bison does the backflip. It also should be a lot safer on block. You’ll hardly see this move used in high level competitive play, and it’d be nice if that were changed. it would bring forth a lot more variety than just Ryu/Sagat/Rufus/Rog/Gief
Bison’s Warp should only be used when cornered if your opponent tries to cross you up, for whatever reason, as the TP will auto-correct itself and send you to the other end of the screen (forward KKK)~ Otherwise, forward+PPP will just bring you right next to Sagat in which case you are obviously getting punished. I don’t see how you could tweak TP to make it go farther unless it just brings you directly to the other end… but that would be stupid. Bison has pretty good reversals imo: ex DR, ex HS, ex PC, ex SK, TP…
I agree on the shortcuts. Nothing is more annoying then playing friends who started with 3S and when I play them in it now they complain they can’t do dps cuz the shortcut doesn’t work in 3S. I just keep telling them stop using the shortcuts in 4 that way it doesnt mess up you other games, but they don’t seem to care.
Also I want j.mp to have way more priority. It is hard enough to combo into Bison’s ultra as is, but nearly every air move Ryu has beats out j.mp.
he has teleport that is relatively safe on wakeup as a reversal as long as you aren’t cornerd. He needs some kind of a weakness, it isn’t that easy for him to get cornered anyway.
Actually, I would be in favour of Bison still being weak in the corner, IF I get my specials buffed so that I don’t have to worry about being put in the corner as easily.
I don’t know who brought up Psycho Shot, but I’m 99% sure we’re not going to see it. It’s incompatible with Psycho Crusher and completely changes the way he plays, so people need to stop mentioning it. We might get a projectile ultra though (Vs. style or EX style, could be either), since I don’t envision him getting Mega Psycho Crusher back and nothing else really fits for the character.
I agree that Mega Psycho Crusher is not likely. It’s not functionally different from his current ultra, which juggles, has a slight vacuum, and pushes through the opponent. Animation wise, his current ultra is already really good.
I wonder if any of the characters are going to get life returning ultras/supers.
Fix Psycho Crusher, so the M. and F. PC’s work like the EX PC works now, and make it that the EX not only fully absorbs an EX-FB but still go through and finish the job.
Add Bison’s overhead (uppercut with punch that glowed with psycho power), and make Bison’s 2nd Ultra something that can go full-screen through a fireball, much like Chun Li, Abel’s ultras.
Yeah I hope Capcom takes in all of this, especially some insane psycho crusher ultra that goes half or full screen like Seth’s tandem ultra, so people think twice about jumping in against him.
