And why should EX messiah not beat Scissors clean? Without EX Messiah Rufus would be a WHOLE lot less scary. He’d actually be trash pretty much. It’d be really stupid if Scissors or any other special could just clean beat it since Rufus has nothing else basically.
Bison is about subtle mind games with rushdown. As he is currently, much of his best tools are not useable in high level play.

Stomp/Demon reverse ; The fix is not improving the tracking on the stomp, the fix is improving the Reverse (d-u +p - p). What they need to do is make this move have more agressive options. Right now if you press punch he turns the other way and changes direction. If you press kick it should do the Skull dive like it does in the Alpha series. This way if people just walk forward to dodge the stomp, a Bison playing mind games can actually punish with a Skulldive and use it like his FP jump in for comboes.
-
HK. I mentioned this earlier. The slight timing difference between his MK and HK in ST was a really Subtle mind game tool for messing with people’s timing. Make the current HK work as F or B + HK and make Neutral HK use the same but slightly slower animation as the standing MK.
-
Jump + MP should always be a threat. Not in a broken way, but knowing he can use it to juggle into an EX PC or SC or into Super or Ultra should always be a concern. His Jumping MP needs a tad more advantage. Even just a few more pixels of reach would make a huge difference. An airborne Bison should always be a worry. As he is now, the is heavelly grounded.
-
I am fine with SC as it is, but PC should not be throwable and should be able to punish Blanka Balls.
-
I think he should either be able to Air Teleport, or use his Taunt in the air to float in place for a second (arms crossed and laugh at you)
I like your unbiased logic. I would rep you if I could.
Fake slide is good but I think roundhouse slide you can FADC out of is better. Hopefully they show Lord Vega some love in the next iteration, right now you never see Vega winning any majors. But that is also in large part due to the unpopularity of the character.
Yeah without Ex messiah Rufus would only be able to rely on his 32 varieties of launch into ultra. He’d be totally nerfed.
Without EX Messiah, he’d be like Abel, but worse. Being able to launch into Ultra isn’t very helpful if you’re stuck in a scissors loop, or even just in Shoto crossup town.
once again, just daydreaming, but it’d be kind of cool if similar to rogs EX upper, depending on spacing EX scissors won’t knock down so that you can continue to combo with strict timing. damage scaling would make doing something like EX scissors - cr.lk x3 xx EX scissors four times worthless, but maybe damage scaling would make it worth while to do once for a little bit more damage. it’d be like fadcing scissors for more cr.lks but for only one meter with same timing and all. maybe corner specific? i dont know i miss scissors not knocking down, the mindfuck from that is sorely missed.
i’d also like to change the blue hitbox for skull diver to be more of the angle it used to be at, like our current jumping forward jab.
From the last blog.
They can’t deny him now.
(I tried to make a funny)
Lord Vega would never say please
that could mean anything…but at least they’re acknowledging their mistake. Just bring back Beta Bison and everyone will be happy.
Hell, just give Bison a decent j.MP hitbox and I’ll be happy.
what if in mid-air by pressing two or three punch butons you could do EX hell attack? i could have a biger hit box and would help him combo into ultra.
If it’s going to cost meter give it some invulnerability IMO. Not a whole lot, just before the active frames start.
yeah thts probably better, i just want it to be a bit more usefull and not get stuffed by everything.
if theyre going to bother to give bison juggle abilities with hell attack other than ultra, it should do some decent damage. for the risk the reward is pathetic. i could get that damage with a counterhit roundhouse with far less risk.
if they turned scissors into his new signature special, they should make it stronger than just leaving things even on block and give it some invincibility frames. it seems like they just gave him a lot of subpar tools and nothing in particular thats especially powerful, hence making him a very average character when its just a matter of sprucing up his moveset, i.e. beta bison!
you already developed him capcom, don’t screw it up the second time around.
yeah its stupid. i dont now what the hell they were thinking when they did the damage output on mp X2 follop sk or pc? its just more logical to hit jmp mp 2 FP OR RH for the same damage. Shit would be nice if they tweaked it ex pc to 220 damage/260 stun ex sk 200 damage/240 stun. that would be just great & not waste ex bar as is now.
What Bison needs!:
-Invincibility startup on EX Psycho Crusher. And a bigger hitbox for more Anti-Air property.
-
Psycho Crusher needs to be SFIITurbo Fast. Not some sluggish purple streak that looses to snails in a distance race.
-
Faster startup on CR.HP. it would mean another tool for AA normals
-
EX PC already has invincible startup. Invincible startup means it’s invincible before the active frames start. EX PC active frames start VERY fast, this is why you can’t use it like you use EX Scissors. You already have EX Scissors for going through projectiles and such, EX PC doesn’t need to. They just need to make EX PC a bit more Safe/useful in another way.
-
That would be decent, but above that I would like them to make all PC’s safe on block at max-ish range. Advantageous at completely maximum range.
-
I simply agree with this one. It can already be used but lowering the startup will make it useful in more situations and Bison could really use a little more help on the defensive end.
Light Scissors 130 damage
short,short,short,short light Scissors 133-140 damage(dont remeber 100%)
why do the damage reduces so mutch?
It’s called damage scaling. When you do a combo that is 3 hits or more the 3rd hit and beyond are reduced by X%. For example when you do c.lkx4 xx Scissors the 3rd c.lk is only 80% damage, the 4th is 70%, and the 2 hits of the Scissors is at only 60% of it’s total damage. If it wasn’t for damage scaling there would be a LOT of 100% combos in SFIV.
This was hardly the right place to ask that question though.
