…how can seth warp in the air?

give him hitler moustache

What’s up with people wanting his only jumping attack that beats crouching lariats removed ?

It’s only Sim that has air warp.

I have not read through all 42 pages of this thread, but I would like to see at least one of these things given to bison:

  1. Faster start up on crouching fierce
  2. Remove the telegraph and recovery on teleport (make it similar to seths)
  3. Banishing Fist ( Either have it absorb fireballs, act as an overhead or act like a dp that puts you in juggle state)

A system wide addition I would like to see is the inclusion of a guard break bar. If people are blocking and mashing through strings toward victory, reward the offensive players who keep the pressure on by allowing us to break that guard.

I duno, I would love a guard break system, but it over complicates things and shift more momentum for other characters.

re: air warp

I think air warp after Stomp would either be too good (makes him too good at running) or useless. Giving him SF2-like control off his stomp (and of course making it track better) is sufficient for mind games.

I shudder to think what fighting rufus would be like for any character without a solid DP if there was guard break.

I would much rather just see absolute guard disappear, it leads to massive scrubbiness.

^^^this

I don’t really think they will change teleport much, but if they do, I owe Ono a happy ending.

Banishing Fist launcher would be badass

Query: Didn’t Sf2 have absolute guard? In fact, isn’t Third Strike the only SF game not to have absolute guard? If so, then it wasn’t a problem in the past, and it’s really not a problem now. It’s a symptom of another problem, not a problem in of itself.

Either that or I have a different concept of absolute guard that what is being talked about here.

No, you are correct.

What makes AG problematic in SF4 is the presence of input shortcuts (can dp without standing), input leniency, and the very large reversal window.

Its not AG by itself, its these mechanics working in concert to produce some very poor situations where options that should be high risk become low risk, but keep their very high reward (DP > FADC during block strings is a PRIME example).

They sure as hell aren’t getting rid of those other mechanics, but they COULD abolish AG and fix a large portion of the problem.

Just imho.

:china:

Ah. I suppose that makes sense, because it is indeed unlikely that those other issues (large reversal window and input leniency) will be addressed. It would indeed be the easier, simpler solution. Thanks.

Am I the only one who would like Bison to get a projectile. I’m talking about the one from MvC2, his psycho ball. I think they could make it a unique projectile in that its arc makes it travel over other projectile. It could be used as a psychic sort of attack so that if you throw it out as the opponent throws out theirs, it travels over theirs and hits them but gives you enough time to block their projectile. I think this would be a good tool for bison to have against projectile happy characters (except I doubt it would work against Guile since his recovery is so quick, maybe the ex version would work though).

Hell no.

The problem with this is that Bison has to lose his Psycho Crusher. Sure it isn’t very useful now, but we’re all hoping that it will be made more useful in SSF4.

A more subtle problem with this though, is that the SF4 series is supposed to feel like SF2. If Bison got one of his Alpha/VS moves, then it really wouldn’t be a SF2 themed Bison.

Yes. You are the only one.

**You people need to stop with the Psycho ball shit. Seriously.

He does not need a projectile…**

I don’t know why he’d have to lose the psycho crusher. Is it because they have the same motion? Well, that would pose a problem, but I was thinking more along the lines of his projectile being a circle motion rather than charge. It would then have to have very limited uses and only work at specific ranges in order to prevent it from being overpowered.

But if it strays away from the norm too much then I guess I won’t be seeing it (although Guile’s supposed 2nd ultra (sonic hurricane) comes from MvC2). O well, I liked the idea because I felt like bison seemed more powerful/intimidating when he could fire off his energy in projectiles. In any case, I know ppl on these boards get really pissed when they hear bison + projectile, so I’ll let it go.

The problem is that giving Bison his Psycho Shot is probably exactly what Capcom is doing.

**Am I missing something?

I’ve been gone for a while…**
