however i do disagree with Ex SK being that OP. It’s already a beast move, suddenly having one bar would REALLY fuck over fireball characters (not that I wouldn’t mind that though)

Dee Jay is very versatile in both countering and rushdown. Unfortunately, he?s received a bit of a nerf according to Seth. In the current build, his EX Dread Kick crumples and can be chained with more EX Dread Kicks in a 1-frame link. It was also possible to chain these into his ultra combo. No longer!

i like all these ideas for improvement in terms of his moves that he has.

but one thing I want to see him have is corner combos.
I mean WTF? why does not not have any? gouken’s are damn near broken, ryu’s are godly all of these dudes are defensive with the exception of ryu who can do what ever he wants but bison should have them by design. wtf!

Exogen, I don’t think Bison really needs some ridiculous corner payoff (I don’t even know how you’d implement something like that) since Scissors and shenanigans can easily keep an opponent on lockdown.

Back throw putting opponent into juggleable state so you can psycho banish/ultra sounds nice.

People already hate gouken for that retarded shit. Bison really doesn’t need a backthrow to ultra.

It would however be kindof interesting if they did something along the lines of: the first hit of PC puts the enemy into juggle state, so that if you FADC after the first hit, they’re juggled long enough to Psycho Banish or maybe even ultra.
But that should probably only work in the corner.

It would be a nice option considering he can’t reliably combo into his ultra at this point other than j strong x2. He also had this property to his back throw in the EX series.

A corner juggle using psycho banish if the move is added would be nice. The more I think about it giving bison more frame advantage instead of psycho banish wouldn’t be such a bad idea. j. strong needs more priority as well. PC definitely needs a faster startup

why do people keep insisting that he should be able to FADC ultra? Please explain to me how that would work, when you wouldn’t have backcharge to start it up?

Anywho, I’d like to see him get an other target combo. sMP > sHP would be good, or even sMK > sHK

:u: huh dude this a ssf4 thread of course he has seen dash ultras, fadc ultra etc but ur point is just GAY imo. Dictator is a charge character and it just wouldnt make sense to fadc cause you have no charge…

Corner combo’s would be nice for Bison. Oddly, until i just read it, I never noticed he didn’t have any big corner juggles. I do like the idea of giving him some big corner set ups, but then again, Bison has a pretty beastly corner game already, and on top of that, he can push people into the corner pretty easy too. I guess since he can pin people in the corner with his feet really damn well already, perhaps thats why I never noticed he didn’t have any real combos.

All Bison needs imo is a solid anti air, and give his j.mp x2 rufus like j.hk priority. That way he has a viable way to ultra someone. Since his roundhouse and BnB combos are so damn easy to land, giving him higher damage output I think throws off the balance of the character. Hell, all i really want is just a solid AA.

Yeah except you have forever and a day to tech Gouken’s throw so I figure they would do the same for Bison. Really, most times the back throw is guaranteed, you’d be better off comboing your opponent with Gouken anyway.

Frankly I don’t really give a shit about extra tacked-on juggle opportunities. It all seems like such an artificial and unimaginative way to improve a character.

Jump make his current tools more solid, that’s all he needs (and maybe change the hitbox on jump strong).

Personally I think Bison needs 3 things.

1.) Something to replace nj. strong.
2.) Better Psycho Crusher.
3.) Way to combo into his current Ultra or his new Ultra.

I couldn’t sleep one of those night…and suddenly came up with this in my head!! Here’s my crazy suggestion: -

  1. Remove Headstomp (D, U+K). And put some other new move in…whatever the heck it may.

  2. Revamp Devil’s Reverse (D, U+P), depend on the button pressed.

LP = fly behind opponent
MP = as per current devil’s reverse
HP = fly backward
EX = invulnerable and homes in on opponent even if they move after DR is executed

The button pressed after the initial DR will determine what move Bison will execute: -

LP = cross up Aerial Fist Dive (LP+MP for EX version)
MP = instant divedown (like Gen…LP + HP for EX)
HP = normal Aerial Fist Dive (MP+HP for EX)
LK = quick land
MK = Headstomp
HK = Flying kick for anti anti-air (esp Rufus j.hk and the like)

After the head stomp gets blocked, each button press should have different move as well!

LP = cross up skull diver
MP = instant divedown (like Gen)
HP = skull diver
LK/MK/HK = some new move

And please, no more Ryu cr.mk > skull diver. :annoy:

But yeah, the above will basically make Bison an aerial beast. Bollocks to the useless psycho crusher (except EX PC). Scrap that move altogether and make him use SFA3 Shin Bison’s Super Psycho Crusher as a 2nd Ultra.

Honestly, Bison’s top level game isn’t going anywhere with SF4 system option select srks favoring all the srk characters.

You overtly complicated Bison’s aerial game and that is never a good thing.

The cross up aspects of DR and SD should be controlled by the directional pad/stick. The velocity and altitude of all his aerial attacks should be determined by the strength of the punch or kick, the stronger the punch/kick the faster/higher the moves come out.

As for additions to these moves to strengthen his mix up game, I suggest the following: After HS connects, Bison has 3 options, nothing (land), Skulldiver or an air warp.

After initial DR launch, Bison has 3 options; nothing (land), Devil’s Reverse and a new kick attack (a badass looking throw) OR an air warp as well.

Why an air warp? It would totally mindfuck your opponent and it’s use would be limited to his aerial specials only so that won’t get abused. Imagine teleporting behind an opponent after they anticipate a DR or an SD, a sexy set up for a combo or ultra right there.

Seth and Dhalsim can warp in the air at anytime, no reason why Bison could not during his air specials only and only at specific moments during those specials.
