Didnt one of the makers say that they didnt want it to be like 3s where people always chose the better super art? Im sure i read that somwhere. I think one ultra should be easy to land either by being part of combo like boxers ultra that doesnt do loads of damage when combo’d ,being a grapple ultra , or a very useful punisher that stops oponents from using certaint tactics like elfs stops jumpins and vegas goes through fireballs. The second should be a punisher like e.hondas ultra that cant be combo’d into and doesnt have many opertunitys to use it but does good damage

No the developers have gone out of their way to not explain how two ultra’s will work (I really don’t understand why they’re doing this, unless they ARE still tinkering with it)

IGN however pointed towards it being ‘similar to the super arts in SFIII’ which were selectable.

However, nobody who has tested SSFIV yet has mentioned anything about having to pick ultra’s when they played, so…

All Ultra’s to be done by QCF,QCF+PPP. DOOOOOO EEEEEEETTTTTT

If this is the case, people will eventually pick the comboable Ultra every time. Guaranteed medium damage > theoretical big damage every time.

that’s my worry right now with selectable ultra’s. It’s like capcoms way of saying “yeah we fucked up your ultra last time, here’s a real one”. It won’t be a problem for some characters (Ryu could still FADC > Metsu Hadoken, or FADC > Shin/Metsu Shoryuken), but for some, it would just make the first one obsolete.

As bison, the only way I’d pick his current one is:

a) if they fix the priority on jMPx2
b) I’m drunk
c) I’m high
d) I wanna hear "This place shall become your GRAVE"
e) his other ultra is worse
f) they change it so it can be reliably be used as an AA (like it kinda works vs Boxer now)

as it stands now, there are a handful of characters who RARELY use their ultra’s, because they’re so fucking hard to land, and basically set you up for punishment. Man, I’ll still play if it’s selectable ultra’s, but that shit is gay. I’d just as soon enjoy selectable ultras as I would selectable specials. No way a fighter should just magically forget how his other attacks work.

If they made safe jumps harder to do, you can easily AA everyone with the current Ultra too. :o

bison’s weaknesses are greater then even imagined. his air game is completely worthless except in close here and there which makes it mediocre at best. PC sucks balls and is worthless except a few instances but the risk reward is way to fucked up so pretty much worthless.

this leaves low shorts, throws, and some of his decent normals (I say decent because chun has better pokes excluding bisons s.hk)

pretty much the way kuma plays with bison is the only really way that makes any sense.what they should do is make bison as if they think he will be broken. that way he will be even with everyone.

I feel that if you don’t understand how Bison works, he is one hell of an annoying opponent. I’ve fought some people who don’t know the matchup, and it’s like fighting G3 people. I’ve had people in tourneys completely fucking give up and pick Dan.

Yet if you know how he works, he is ridiculously easy to shut down.

I truly think that when you look at how the new SFIV system works (FADC’s, etc), he doesn’t benefit as much as many other characters do. Combine that with the fact that quite a few of his moves got nerfed to the point they’re laughable (PC is basically a poor man’s SK, with literally ZERO features that make it useful besides Ex…DR is for meter building, and even that isn’t saying much…teleport only works if you teleport backwards, and even then can be exploited…HS can be dodged almost as easy as Running Bear Grab), and it just hurts. Even his combo’s are lacking. cMK doesn’t work properly all the time, and can be a bitch to link…cLK x 3 gives even TOP bisons problems at times

Dear lord, I am not saying Bison is dirt tier or anything, but he definitely needs work. I hate relying on lucky psychic Head Stomps and constant MK and HK for wins.

right pretty much but add the that also that even meeter building with DR against a shoto is risky as hell due to air tatsu. EX HS can be shut down by simple anti-air normals or air ti air anti airs. the list goes on and on.

seriously bison got raped in this game, end of story. I want to be able to have fun with an all out offensive character that dic is supposed to be. why can’t capcom just give us reliable tools to do just that against any character.
bison should force you to be guess with bison having massive payoff if he guess right.

I hope the SSF4 Bison doesn’t have an impossible time against Guile, That’s one of the worse match ups in the game.

They should make Bison’s teleport recover faster. I mean he freaking created Seth and Seth’s teleport recovers quicker… AAARRGH!!!
