The SS Tenka Thread: The Resurrection

I wouldn’t say Yoshitora is up to SS0 snuff, I definitely haven’t seen an infinite for him yet for instance. He seems very similar to his SS0S form to me. I play him as a rush character, dash fierce, mix with throw, dash kick and, pause, overhead is good times. What Uncauzi is saying about SS3 grooves makes me wonder about Yoshitora…jump up and down fierce slash could be a lot of fun. But so far I’m doing decent with Yoshitora (good against mediocre to medium players, bad against good players)…I just wish I knew some brutal combos with him.

yo adverse hows shit!

anyways had a bit of a bash on the game tonight after dinner to kill some time. chose ukyo just for a laugh.

ugh hes too damned good, should of nerfed that shit (not given him an extra move!)

-hes got a great crossup which you can hit deep with even if you are quite a ways past and over them (j.B)

-he can combo his super, multi hit stab, etc off his s.D (kick) which is very safe and fast.

-he is almost completely safe after the qcb+A except if you use it in really close. basically that means he can get chip damage all round for free.

-he now has a good safeish option from almost full screen with the new fb+SLASH move which also can be used to hit high or low.

-great normals (j.C,j.B,s.D,s.A,s.B,dash.A/B/C/D, etc)

-his swallow slash (air slash) does crazy damage as well as still being useful for the c.KICK->jump->swallow slash mixup trick.

etc

It seems that Ukyo is almost as safe as SSII God Tier Ukyo…return to the roots indeed…

Nope not that safe, but Ukyos good enuff. P.S. maybe in Tokyo on Nov 21st. Oh, ho, ho. Too bad we probably won’t have time for gaming but if we do, I’ll post up.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but the PS2 release date is said to be January 2006 in Japan.
Also the meaning of the title is something in the lines: “Legend of the Mightiest Swordmaster on the Earth”.

And where did you get this launch info from?

That’s great! :badboy:

And how do you see him against Yumeji? Who’s better?

Don’t remember but I’m sure it’s sometime at the start of 2006

Play Live has it for November thats why I have been wondering…

yeah i said this earlier but that playasia date must be wrong… official japanese release date is the 16th of jan 06 or thereabouts…

How’s Hanzo? Is he top tier

C’mon, where is this thread…it needs to rise from the ashes…

hanzo is fucking ridiculous. turn invisible/instant crossup, running grab equals way too good. have not figured out how to get through his shit.

hes more technical than ukyo making him lose tierage imo, but yeah in skilled hands hes the devil.

Beel if you dont mind telling me, is the boss pretty easy in this game/same as SSV Gaoh 2nd form, or is he rather cheap?? This has been killing me for a while. BTW, your RB2 FAQ on NGforums IS GOLD…highly recommend it to ANYONE wishing to pick that game uP!!!

Man, is there any possibility of anti-Mina-keepaway tactics in this game? I saw this nasty vid where Galford tried unsuccessfully to rush her down only to keep getting beasted by those damn arrows…

Hit her with some hardslashes…notice how much damage she takes from jump C, 2B, plasma blade in that vid. You have to be patient. If you land a super you can go apeshit (she loses weapon).

Speaking of losing weapons, I noticed that being able to push grounded opponents can make losing your weapon way more significant (and may make SS2 groove obsolete in the process). You could knock the opponent’s weapon away and push them away from it, then hop over them as they get up and backdash to the other corner, leaving their weapon off-screen never to be seen again.

In SS2 groove when the weapon gets thrown back in, it’s in the middle of the screen, so the opponent will always have a better change getting it back than against any other groove. Guaranteed time w/o weapon (SS2) vs potentially losing your weapon for the rest of the round (any other).

Thoughts? Or is this not a big deal?

How come every match I see with Cham Cham no one does the scratch move? Did they tone that shit down in this game?

Also, I saw Rimururu do chain combo, Iceflower on wake up, dash behind at the same time it hit from the front, to another chain combo! Does anyone know if that is unblockable?

i wish i could. never fought him myself, i dont even try against the computer

PS2 version will have extra characters (Poppy? Kuroko?), AST*, the typical stuff (color edit, gallery, etc) plus… extra grooves.

  • Instant orgasm right there. The OST is already some of the best stuff i´ve ever heard! NGBC´s music was nice, but Tenka and KOFXI´s songs are just too damn good.
