We’re trying to get to Japan to compete this year. Someone may figure it out by then or who knows they might get around it. Right now we just find it hilarious. Lets just say, attack n die for now. We’re going to do some more testing to see how practical it is, but for now it’s our BFG if we make it out there.
Maybe by some weak, quick normals as well, but this is the one I notice the most. Ten vs. Ten is all crazy because if you block someone’s combo starter, you get to retaliate with an AB combo.
. . . which is why right now, the characters dominating are the ones with better AB combo starters. For example, my character (Charlotte) has a crap AB combo starter that can’t combo from anything and can be dodged by any crouching character (except maybe Earthquake, etc) and only does about 15-20% damage.
Other characters however have AB starters that hit mid, can be easily combo’d into from an overhead or low attack, and deal 30-50% damage (like Shizumaru, Enja, Iroha) . . .
I am starting to think its time to switch characters to have a chance in the tournament scene here -_-
No c’mon guys, are we gonna let this thread fall to the wayside…come lets talk…lets keep this thing going strong…just curious…as of right now who is THE WORST character in the game and why?? (Mina bc of low health?? Heard that be4 in SSVSP)
Mina in SP was still used though (I actually have some tourney vids of that too) and she has some really nice mixups with the falling arrows. But I haven’t heard anything about Genjuro or Yoshitora, not to mention other people like Jubei, Kyoshiro and the cannon dude (forgot his name, sorry ^_^;;). I do have one question though regarding Ukyo, and that’s is there any reason to choose him over Yumeji, or is she just that damn good?
This game looks really damn hot, and I’ve seen a vicious Seiger being played in some vids, Body Splash crossover all day to this big ass combo that launches them and he jumps in the air to grab them. His punches seem safe as hell, are GREAT FOR CHIP DAMAGE etc.
> Attack and die…sounds like Ultima may be onto something…=)
Er, what? I haven’t even played the game yet.
re: AB combo starter punishable by another
Suckage. I hope things don’t stay that way.
I heard that Yoshitora got improved from SS0S, almost back to his SS0 self. BUt with all the other grooves and Ten BS, he seems to to have gone largly unnoticed. :\
Oh, and Mina has to be a much better character in this game by default, since the low damage makes her that much more dangerous because she’s so much harder to kill now.
All right see how I handle this guys…unlike Time_Stop I am not about to be rude.
Sir, to take care of this just use the Search Option, just go throught the forums, I would type in SST in the search bar, and with this you will find many vids of everything for the SST vids… There is a SSt vids thread as well, you should be able to find it with ease.
Best of luck!!! They are good threads, I like the music as well!!
Yeah, her damage isn’t that great either, but it works out far more in her favour now than before. Fighting Mina was always a war of attrition, where you only needed 2-3 good smacks to take her out as opposed to her 8-10, which made it a lot harder for her to win. Now it’s, what, you have to hit her 6-8 times and she has to do 12-15? The ratio has gone way in her favour now, especially considering her style of play.
You’d think so, but some things of hers have been nerfed such as her uppercut move, now what HAS gone her way is the lowering of throw damage. That by itself is one of my biggest gripes about the game. Asides from that Mina isn’t really a big factor.
(P.S. If you really want to see something funny try playing Mina in SS3 groove. Tip:
airblocking.)
NOte that I haven’t even seen the game as yet, and am not likely to unless I get the import PS2 version. Are you referring to playing Mina in SS3 Groove or against Mina with another character in SS3 Groove? I can see air-blocking taking a big bite out of her annoyance factor.
SOmeone refresh me: Couldn’t you air block everything in SS3, including ground based normals and supers? How is the air blocking in SS3 Groove in Tenka? (Until I memorize the various spirit names, I’m calling the spirits by their respective game origins).
From what I can tell it works just about the same, my freind recently picked up Mina in SS3 mode and well, lets just say with the insta jump still there jumping up and down in the corner is absolutely retarded. Block+downwards fierce arrow = good times.
The peeps around here haven’t been playing all that much recently due to unsavory relevations…well that and Battlefield 2, the Villians beta, and err Fear.
