watched “funny games” last night. not necessarily a bad movie but not a good one either. was wayyyy too slow for me.

naomi watts is SUCH a hottie…I cant believe she is like 40…:hitit:

where the hell has taichi been?

anyway, been a little slow on the movie reporting. recently I’ve watched -

Don’t Deliver Us From Evil - classic grindhouse structure: scintilating poster art, you think there is going to be mad nudity/gore, end up with no nudity, one murder, boring as hell up until a good ending that kinda makes it worth it

Lions for Lambs - this movie is fucking horrible. This would have been my worst movie from last year. What a POS. How can braindead conservatives think this was some kind of liberal propaganda? Right, braindead. Anyway, this is the biggest piece of pseudo intellectual wishy washy crap and Redford is a senile old man.

Troll - always a classic. Michael Moriarty dance scene rules. Beuchler would go on to do the superior Friday part 7

Chained Heat - Boy do I love me some Sybil Danning. Interesting juxtapose to Reform School Girls. Good T&A, Linda Blair titties, rape, death…classic

Lucky Number Slevin - Not that bad actually. Pointless and shallow but it held my interest.

haha this movie was fucking tight…halarious shit…

slevin was like smokin aces for me…trying way too hard to be “cool” without delivering anything new or interesting. same with shoot 'em up, cept that had monica in it which is auto-win.

saw sweeney todd and did not care for it. it was ok, but i’m just not a musical fan (which is funny since i’m a former theater geek.)

saw walk hard, thought it was funny, pretty much your average apatow dumb comedy (as opposed to his romantic comedies). i don’t care if it’s cool to hate on the apatow crew because those guys are about the only ones producing mainstream comedies worth investing time in…oh, and it had jenna fischer in it, so that’s always a bonus.

Machine Girl is playing here this weekend, might check it out

so i saw the counterfieters (sp) the other night, dope movie, suprisingly the monte carlo scenes were my favorite and i thought they were the most powerful, also suprisingly i did not find this nazi film piece “sad” not sure why but i did not…

i also saw paranoia park last night…dope ass movie, first movie i seen from this director…very well done, a lot of long shots without any dialouge, sort of expressing the characters emotions just throughout these long shots…very intersting how he pulled that off…some very interesting scenes like the shower scene and the teenage “sex” scene…

i highly recommend paranoia park, be warned it is an apreciation/thinking piece…

Please let us know how Machine Girl is. Won’t get a chance to see that for some time. Looks like it might be too over the top to even be cool, but obviously thats the point. Intrigued by it.

!!! gotta give a review if you see it

You never saw Good Will Hunting?

To Die For?
Elephant?
Last Days?
My Own Private Idaho?

nope, my friend that went with me also threw these at me and the only movie i heard of from the same list you and he gave me is good will hunting…

he told me elephant is similar to paranoia park, but good will hunting is not…

elephant was pretty bad

i think the best school shooting movie i seen was zero day

anyone ever see the documentary on a history of violence? i saw it in theaters and didn’t pick up the dvd until today, but the documentary is really good. he gets pretty in depth with the film making while including cast interviews and other behind the scenes stuff well into one nice package instead of having a bunch of smaller featurettes for each thing

is that on a blu ray or regular dvd?

weekend viewing:

Smokin Aces - this was garbage. lower than garbage. so bad it made me angry. entirely devoid of originality, characterization, logic, etc. Cant believe liberal put Slevin in the same category as this turd.

The Mist - I thought I would like this but how wrong I was. Darabont has really proven himself to be a one hit wonder. The Mist was a terrible fim all-around, from the laughable thomas jane performance to the shitty script, the horrible monster effects and a dumbass ending.

AvP: Requiem - not as bad as I was lead to believe. Unrated version appears to be almost 10 minutes longer than theatrical cut and Im not sure what it added but I ended up liking this one okay. There are definitely numerous flaws and the aliens themselves were pretty bad but for whatever reason it held my interest. Maybe because the first one killed my dreams of a good AvP movie I really wasnt expecting anything.

Aeon Flux - This one was pretty shitty. Plot was completely nonsensical, designs were stupid, characters were stupid, etc. Much worse than Ultraviolet, which was at least fun stupid. this one was boring stupid.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - in hindsight, did not need to see this one. Not as funny as knocked up or super bad.

Juno - Thought it was a bit boring, i dont see how this got nominated for best picture…Then again Michael Clayton was garbage too… 6 out 10

AvP-R Alot better then the first one…It was a fun movie but the action was hard to follow/see…Still not worthy of Alien or Predator movies…6 out10

Before the Devil Knows Your Dead - Wow movie starts off with Marissa Tomei getting doggie styled…That alone was worth the rental…Get to see her boobs too 9 out 10

Chocolate - Pretty cool MA film girl is a bit slow but yeah she kicked ass…One of the better MA films iv’e seen in awhile 8 out 10

Just watched Southland Tales. Do not recommend to anyone.

Its like the producers or whoever wanted to see how many b-list celebs they could put in a terrible movie. I guess it was good for watching and going, “hey, its that guy/girl”. A lot of it just seemed like the guy who wrote the script was just throwing random stuff in there just for the sake of being weird.

I found out that this movie was based on some graphic novels, so I guess something was lost in translation. It was also written/directed by the guy who did Donnie Darko, so I guess it explains some of it, but its like he was trying for something profound that you could read into like Donnie Darko, but the execution was terrible.

regular dvd, its not on blu ray (yet i hope)

he gives away a lot of his techniques too which was pretty cool

but its not boring like most featurettes

too bad eastern promises had nothing good in terms of special features

i just watched the matrix 1-3 for the first time ever. why does everyone hate 2 and 3? i thought they were pretty good. maybe too much philosophy, but i dunno i liked them more than the original

You also get to see Philip Seymour Hoffman’s bitch tits no homo.

I loved matrix reloaded, saw it 3 times in the theater. was disappointed in the third one but it has grown on me since.

last night went to a double feature of Soylent Green and Westworld. The concession stand had a plate of soylent greens, yellows and reds out for people to eat.

Re-watched Predator. So good. Arnold was in prime form in that movie. The Predator’s glowing yellow eyes were tight, I wonder why they changed it to white/translucent in AvP:R.

Second and third Matrices aren’t as tightly scripted as the first, but the first had the annoying cop-out third act. So… meh. None of them really live up to their potential, but they all have great moments that make them worth watching.
