i saw the ruins last night with my girls, pretty original idea for a horror movie.i was surprised, they kinda slacked on the ending, but i was so glad the rest of it didnt suck and was actually interesting, that i let it slide,XDā¦all in all i give it and 8
Really? I chose to see Vantage Point over The Ruins because I thought The Ruins looked like your typical, run-of-the-mill teenie bopper horror flick. It had Sean Ashmore (of X-Men Iceman fame), Jonathan Tucker (was in that dreadful Texas Chainsaw remake), and Jena Malone (meh), so I really didnāt give it a thought.
versus vantage point which had what going for it exactly? o.O;
light movie weekend, only watched Into the Wild and 42nd Street Forever vol. 3
ITW was alright but a little too pretentious. 42nd Street had some great picks to put on my queue but netflix basically doesnāt carry any of them. I still need to buy the dvd of Savage Streets. Other highlights were Jaguar Lives, Scorchy, Blood Beach, etc
Meh, the cast in Vantage Point looked pretty buff, and there wasnāt too much else at the theater. Vantage Point turned out to be pretty generic and uninspiring.
I guess Iāll gives The Ruins a shot when it comes out on DVD; I despise watching movies at theaters in general due to rude people. Thankfully, Vantage Point had 6 total people, and all of them were upper-class, middle-aged white couples.
So⦠how about that Manos: Hands of Fate?
i mean what do you expect from a dude who lives life like that and his philosophy??? i think any movie that you going to make about something like that is going to turn outā¦āpretentiousāā¦
im outi
Roberth
donāt mess with manosā¦torgo is going to bring the goat-legged beastageā¦
so i just saw Raging Bull for the first timeā¦what a fucking amazing movieā¦holy shitā¦i might have to watch this again within this weekā¦

me and the gf finally got around to watching I am Legend.
it was good, not as good as Omega Man (RIP Charlton Heston)
the ending was shit
my gf cried when he had to kill his zombie dog. also, why the fuck did he blow himself up? that grenade took about 20 seconds to explode, he could have gotten away for gods sake! fuck this movie, and NO special features on the dvd!? what the fuck!? so there is no alternate āgoodā ending?
Itās so bad that you canāt not enjoy it. Speaking of MST3K, I saw one of the Gamera movies recently. I laughed and I cried, mostly because I was laughing so hard. I highly recommend it.
manos is by far my favorite episode of mst3k, but mitchell hold a special place in my heartā¦i love that episode.
Did you get the 2 Disc SE?
It had an alt. endingā¦
Iām assuming he rented it from Blockbuster. Blockbuster just has the single DVD edition; no extra disc with features.
Watch the following this week:
I am Legend - Pretty decent film until he meets woman/boy then kinda fell apartā¦So whatās the alternate ending? 7 out 10
30 Days of Night - I usually get scared pretty easily but this movie didnāt scare me at allā¦A lot of raise eybrows or why dont they just fucking do thisā¦Still has some nice shots especially when the vampires went to town on the towns peopleā¦6 out 10
Enchanted - Not as great as a lot of people were telling meā¦Felt kind of bland & forgettableā¦Still its a good family film to watchā¦6.5 out 10
Man 30 Days of Night restored my faith in vampires in movies. These things didnāt play around and like you said they went to town on the people and then some. Ending did sort of leave it open for sequel somewhat if they wanted seeing as how with the leader killed and the other vampires dispersed once the sun was starting to come up.
The characters were soooooooo stupid! I agree; it definately wasnāt a very good movie. We may have indeed missed a ādeeper meaningā though, as from what Iāve read, The Mist is related to several other King stories (Dark Tower or something). Some King buffs even think that Pennywise (It) came from the same realm as the creatures from The Mist. I donāt know all the details, but the movie may have been more enjoyable for those who are familiar with most/all of Kingās work.
I actually thought for a second that it might be a psychological thriller/horror piece, examining the peopleās thoughts and mentality being bunkered in a weak fortress, fighting an unknown enemy. But no. Just retarded nonsense.
much better than the one they put in the movie. wonder why they didnāt use that one
