The SRK Movie Fanatic Thread (REVIEWS, QUESTIONS, RANTS, STARS...ETC.) EVERYTHING!

the only thing scary about the remake of tcm is that the people who made it find a way to sleep at night…

Probably the Exorcist, and Carpenter’s Halloween. I can’t really think of any other movies that genuinely gave me an inkling of that fight-or-flight response. The vast majority of “scary movies” are not.

saw The Bank Job…very good little movie. Nothing mindblowing, but a solid caper flick.

Not necessarily the scariest, but I will admit, being the little girl that I am, that What Lies Beneath actually scared the bejeezus out of me. I watched it in the theater, and during the last scene when she was in the tub, I was closing my eyes and just peeking through my fingers to see if the scary part had happened yet.

And, yes, I will also admit that I watched Blair Witch Project when I was 16/17 and had to drive home alone and my parents were gone that night so I was scared to be in my house by myself and didn’t sleep that night.

I am a wuss.

What Lies Beneath was truly frightening, I actually walked out of the theater haflway through.

blair witch scared me the first time i saw it, and i was like 19-20…it was just before all the super-hype around the film…

however, when i was forced to watch it a second time, it was just a big motion-sickness fest with no real punch anymore…

edit: the most scared i’ve ever been after a film was the first poltergeist when i was like 7 years old…holy shit that scared me…

oh, and i could never get through silver bullet when i was young either…i used to have crazy night, mares about werewolves in my backyard cuz of that busey/haim masterpiece…

I assume you saw the other versions first? Then I can understand. I never saw any of them, and the 2003 remake as a stand-alone presentation was really good, in my opinion. It already had the story cut out and ready for it, but I thought pretty much everything else was up to par with it. A relatively great movie, to put it that way.

The Exorcist gave me a good scare too. I hate it now. The atmosphere wore off and it’s left with nothing but a bad concept. I saw one or two of the Halloween movies, but the first is probably the best, I should check that out.

Hehe. Yeah, I thought the same about Blairwitch. I thought everything was real, though. I caught it on TV when it had already begun, probably past the introduction text and all. I was disgusted when I found out it was just a movie. What a let-down… and what would we want with a sequel for?

I actually saw the sequel on TV also, half-way through. Didn’t follow the same camera-work, and wasn’t all too bad as a scary movie. Not exactly worth your time, either, though…

I didn’t watch more than 20 minutes of Poltergeist. But I was far older than 7 when I watched it…

it’s wayyyyy more than i saw the og first, tcm is absolutely one of my favorite films of all fucking time. even the notion of it being remade at all offends me more than priests raping children…

The first one is a horror masterpiece. No exaggeration. The rest of the Halloween films aren’t worth the film they’re printed on.

i was pretty scared by the shinning that shit was frightening…

i saw diary of the dead this weekend…i thought it was really good…more focused on social commentary than zombies…but still awsome…there were some awsomely funny parts in it too…

So i turn on the tv this morning skimming through the movie channels and all of a sudden i see Guyver 2:Dark Hero playing on Cinemax.
I haven’t seen this in forever. I still think its a pretty good movie for its time. Leagues better than the first one.

A saw Johnny Bosch’s movie Broken Path back during Katsucon. Its a damn good movie. More on action and a little on dialogue.

Candyman and the original exorcist scared me as a little kid, that’s pretty much it.

Heck yeah. Solid Snake’s voice is the lead, too. He also wrote X-men and X2’s screenplays.

The action in that movie is great.

I was about 6 or 7 years old…It was during Christmas time & they played this movie about a killer Santa Claus goes back & starts killing all the people that did him wrong…The last part was creepy…It shows a nun sitting down quietly they were like “mother superior are you here” You see her back turn sitting quietly…Then when they move her, her head rolls right off…Fucking traumatize for life…
The santa eventually get shot at the end but after the credits he jumps out alive…Fucking scared the shit out of me until this day…The other movie would also be Jaws…Im scared to go to beaches because of this movie…

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed Guyver 2. I thought it was pretty good for what it was (B-Movie, low budget sci-fi flick based off an anime). David Hayter rocks. Excellent screenwriter, amazing voice actor, and not too bad of an action/sci-fi actor.

i saw bladerunner final cut in the theaters, that shit was amazing…hot damn…such a great movie…

i would like to see them re release aliens…when they released alien in theaters i was so excited that shit was tight man…but aliens would be epic…
