i saw the new bourne movie this weekend…dope…that is all, probably the most solid trilogoy i have ever seen…
i also saw the lookout…it was good…that dude from 3rd rock from the sun is like one of the most underrated actors…he is mad good…dude is probably going to explode soon…but i dont know if he will like mainstream explode but more like on the indie level explode…
I don’t think he has any intentions of doing more mainstream stuff than he usually does.
In a radio interview back in 2005 (Loveline) he said his dad wisely invested all his 3rd Rock money that allows him to just do indie movies for the rest of his life.
Saw Hot Rod with no expectations, it was alright. Kind of charming in a napolean dynamite kind of way, although some (about half) of the jokes just don’t work.
Walked into Underdog, could only stand 5 minutes of it. Something I found odd was that they told Jason Lee to do the voice EXACTLY like he does in My Name Is Earl, same voice, speech patterns and everything (If you’ve seen Lee’s other stuff it’s very distinguishable, Kevin Smiths flicks for example he sounds completely different). I’m guessing they hired him specifically to do that voice exactly the same, although who knows why they’d want him to.
Also caught No Reservations, decent romantic comedy. None of the movies I’d watch again, kind of a dud week.
Bourne Ultimatum was good but I couldn’t take the ridiculous shakycam.
Recently saw Shooter. I read a bunch of negative reviews, so my expectations were quite low… but I loved it. Maybe because I like the whole sharpshooter thing, but I really enjoyed this film. Entertaining, easy to follow, good mix of action/shooting with conspiracy. I liked it.
i thought it was alright…it was too cookie cuter action/shooter flick to me…and the marketing was halarious in the movie…“where did that guy find this”…“he was at a sarbucks…where they have free wi fi”…i seriously loled when that shit was said…
right at your door - grabbed the import dvd for real cheap. very cliche. the surprise “twist” it actually what I thought was going to happen so who knows. looks like it was shot very cheap which is cool if you wanna make a movie. you could film this movie for like a couple thousand if you got the equipment already, even if you have to rent it shouldn’t cost that much
slither - finally saw this. really enjoyed it, if you like b movies check it out. you might have to use subtitles though because i don’t understand southern slang
Need some help. My friend told me that he saw a trailer on TV, forgot which channel, but he said it had 3 giant monsters in it. At first I thought he meant Dragon Wars and he said that wasn’t it. Then I thought that maybe 1-18-08 had a new trailer possibly confirming the 3 monster theory, but I can’t find anything online about that. So any idea what trailer he might have seen?
Just saw “Disturbia” and “Fracture” this weekend. Disturbia was okay, except the first half was like watching an entirely different movie than the second half. The pacing/difference between the first and second halves is just jarring. But… I like Shia enough so I overlooked it. Overall, entertaining teen movie.
Fracture was pretty nice, except it as far too formulaic. I like Anthony Hopkins and his acting in this movie was a pleasure to watch. Gosling played his cocky/arrogant DA role to perfection. Gum-chewing, cell-phone vibrating, hand gestures… all great stuff that added to his performance.
Hatchet - good for a laugh, don’t let the former nc-17 rating fool you. They make it sound like bitches are getting raped and killed at the same time, they’re not.
Bloodrayne II - don’t ask. I didn’t start it yet but I’m not too excited about wasting my time either.
Saw 3:10 to Yuma. Didn’t know it was a remake.
It was ok.
Character Development
Spoiler
Why did Ben Wade get all soft towards the end? Because of sympathy? I thought he “wouldn’t last 5 minutes” if he wasn’t completely “rotten.” Seems too drastic of a change. I mean, Ben was so broken in this movie, he could’ve easily fucked everyone up if he wanted to.
