you know they will release a special edition grindhouse dvd set just before the holidays like they did with sin city…
Once
i had to look this one up…was it really that good? i’m not a fan of movie musicals, is this one different from your standard fare?
yes…it’s not really a musical, just a movie with a lot of music
sunshine is under 2 hours…like i think its an hour and 40 min…that is too long??? that is news to me…i never bought “this movie is too long problem”, it is either good or it is not good, if you are concerned with a movies length you are watching it for the wrong reason…

and Last King of Scotland was 2006
It’s not a matter of length, it’s a matter of how compact content is. You can have a 20 minute short film with only 10 minutes of material, that would be ‘too long.’ A film like pulp fiction or lord of the rings can get away with 2.5-3 hours because of the immense amount of content present, but movies 1.5-2.5 hours commonly are ‘too long’ in my eyes.
It just means the content is decent but they stretched it out too long and should have tried to shorten it a bit, or add more content.
I thought last king of scotland was early 2006, oh well.
but what im saying is that this wasnt the case in sunshine…why should have it been shorter???
i had no problem with the last king of scottlands length either…both movies utilized the time effectively if you ask me…
and you are still baised “but movies 1.5-2.5 hours commonly are ‘too long’ in my eyes” with no justification…especially if the content they fit into the movie makes sense in that period of time…

w/e, with last king of scotland and sunshine it’s only a clerical problem because I still liked the films, it was just an explanation of why they weren’t in my top 5.
you forgot the whole Forrest Whitaker winning the oscar thing last year?
wasn’t really thinking to be honest.
if it means anything both directors of last king and sunshine are european
european movies tend to be slower paced than USA’s
why is everyone hating on the 2nd half of sunshine
logically where else could the story have gone
on another note, i wish they’d make some new music for trailers
i’m tired of hearing the requiem for a dream theme, the edward scissorhands theme, the 28 weeks later one, etc.
Heh, yeah. In Europe you can open on clouds, cut to clouds, and then cut to more clouds. In America if you open with clouds, you have to cut to a plane, and if in the third cut the plane hasn’t exploded the audience is bored.
really they hating on the 2nd half??? ya i dont get it either for the same reason you just posted…it just made sense to have it go that way…btw i thought the psycologist dude was tight in the movie…

…sigley can tell us if jersey is really like that
I’ve got a stack of movies to watch but I have to carve out some time. got an old Sean Penn flick called Bad Boys as well as that movie Perfume that came out last year
I hear perfume was terrible, which makes perfect sense being that the entire book takes place in the characters mind and you can’t capture that on film.
i was planning on watching that movie (imported it in HD) but i’m a little backed up due to 24
never watched it before and taking some time to go through 5 seasons
i also imported perfume in HD to watch since i missed it in theaters
this might be random, but in late september we’re making a movie and if anyone wants to work on it i can get you on
it’s gonna be filmed in eastern PA
even if you have no experience on film we can get you in as an assistant, it’s kind of low budget but we can still give you like $1500 for 3 weeks of work
if you’re interested let me know
oh i liked eternal sunshine and i think most of that movie took place in jim carrey’s mind
i sent you a pm…eternal sunshine was tight…my fav jim carey movie…
