Simpsons movie soon, predicting mediocrity.
And RE: Sunshine, the visuals were great but it was kinda boring.
I like The Tripper which was also made by after dark films. All of their other movies reek of shit however.
I watched The Abandoned. Lame. Especially because everyone was hyping it up to be this awesome haunted house movie… No. It really wasn’t. It felt disjointed and you barely cared if these people died or not.
his short films are awesome though
Hot Fuzz on DVD soon, haven’t seen it yet.
Loved Shaun of the Dead. Can’t wait to get HF.
Second that…god damn when will we get the next big sci fi hit? children of men left a LOT of people wanting more, The island, started out as your typical everyday mediocre sci fi and it ended up as a shitty car chase movie.
Fuck car chase movies. They were shitty back in the 70s and are even more so today.
man the number 23 was not good…could have been but i dont know what happened it just didnt play out right…the twist was ok but too predictable…
saw reno 911 miami…not as funny as i thougt it was going to be but whatever…it was an average comedy flick, although i dont watch too many comedies…

reno 911 was just an uncensored extended episode. however, i’m a huge fan of tom lennon and ben garant’s comedy, so i enjoyed it. cann’t wait for hot fuzz on dvd. still hold the title of funniest movie i’ve seen this year.
i’m looking forward to superbad. yes, it’s going to be a dumb comedy with lots of cliche teenage humor, but it has george michael(michael cera) in it, so i gotta see it…
superbad looks funny. seth rogan ftw.
if anyone likes noir films and is in NYC big festival coming up
http://www.filmforum.org/films/nycnoir.html
they have a double feature of my two favorite silent-era comedians. There’s classic dramas, two Val Lewton flicks, some seedy noirs, and a Superfly/Warriors double feature
JULY 29 SUN: LAURA/THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW
JULY 30 MON: THE CAMERAMAN/SPEEDY
AUGUST 2 THU: A DOUBLE LIFE/THE SEVENTH VICTIM
AUGUST 8 WED: THE NAKED CITY/FORCE OF EVIL
AUGUST 15 WED: CAT PEOPLE/PHANTOM LADY
AUGUST 17/18 FRI/SAT: THE WARRIORS/SUPERFLY
AUGUST 19/20 SUN/MON: SCARLET STREET/SIDE STREET
AUGUST 22/23 WED/THU: KILLER?S KISS/SOMETHING WILD
AUGUST 30 THU: WAIT UNTIL DARK/CRY TERROR!
holy shit, Sunshine is the tighest movie i have seen this year so far…totally blew me away…like i do not know if i have seen a more intense movie than this…go see it immediately and you have to see it in a theater it will do you no justice to see it at home…

The Darjeeling Limited - This is the only movie for the rest of the year that I am interested in.Oh and I guess beowulf but I’m pretty sure that’s gonna suck.
Sunshine: Sun is dying. Scientists are sent to “blow up / reignite the sun” with a massive as fuck nuke. Shit starts going crazy.
Yeah, I’ve got to see Balls of Fury too.
Other than that, Bourne and Superbad… the one I really want to check out is Shoot Em Up.
Killing people with carrots is gdlk.
What did you expect it is a fucking Joel Schumacher film? That man makes Michael Bay look like Martin Scorsese in comparison.
tigerland, falling down, a time to kill, the client, the lost boys, phantom of the opera
those are all good movies by schumacher
What are yals favorite movies of the year thusfar?
I’m gonna have to go with Ratatouille for #1, Knocked Up, Hot Fuzz, Grindhouse and Waitress to complete the top 5 atm.
300 was enjoyable enough but not top-5 imo due to being less fun on repeat viewing.
I’m done arguing transformers, say it’s the best movie all you want <3
Last King of Scotland was good, but was ultimately too long. Same problem with Sunshine.
Live Free/Die Hard was much less fun on second viewing for some reason which kind of killed my interest in it.
best movie i’ve seen this year? grindhouse, no question. hot fuzz is the funniest movie i’ve seen this year so far…transformers was an ok movie, best movie of the year? lol, no. 300 was a visual feast, but i don’t know where it actually lands on my list of movies this year. while there have been some enjoyable films, there hasn’t been anything short of the two i’ve mentioned that really captured me. i’m waiting for the oscar season to see what gets put out there.
I still have to see Grindhouse, but I’m a little disappointed in the decision to separate the DVD releases. They will come out on separate discs, at different times. I think Death Race (or whatever its called, I still haven’t seen it) comes out in September, with Planet Terror coming out the following month.
I think it was mentioned a while ago, but Disney is doing a live action movie based on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but with a british girl and seven shaolin monks.
