this morning I watched STAYING ALIVE, the Sylvester Stallone-directed sequel to Saturday Night Fever. Stallone’s cameo was top tier…this was during his coked-out heyday. This movie ruled more than The Apple. Satan’s Alley = now that’s broadway

That movie was kind of disturbing to me. On one hand, it makes me half-ashamed of my hobby, but on the other hand it almost seems like the film-makers are condemning these people instead of studying them, or looking beyond them. It’s ‘hey, look at these guys with no life’ for an hour and a half.
Also, finally saw Annie Hall, how do I miss movies like that.
did anyone see Captivity? I want to see it, but I read they cut a lot out to get a R rating including reshooting the entire ending. Might want to wait for the DVD for that.
I saw Rescue Dawn recently, great movie. Christian Bale I think is the most consistant actor out there. I can’t really think of a bad role he’s done besides Shaft.
Also saw Joshua. I dunno no one can get the creepy little kid vibe down anymore like they could in the 70s. It’s not even that hard since kids are creepy in general, but it looks like they try too hard and ruin it like in The Omen remake.

So I just finished sitting through Cashback. I thought it was pretty fucken interesting, with and without the gracious amounts of bare breasts and snatch shots.
Nice how they included their '04 short film within the movie as well.
4/5 from me.

As much as I dislike transformers, it was better than joshua, as was harry potter. Haven’t seen rescue dawn or captivity, rescue dawn seems good though.
Just saw “Captivity” (by After Dark Films)
Wow, what a boring movie. It’s slightly better than their “8 Films to Die For,” but not really by much. ADF keeps on marketing their films as the “most controversial of all time” or “too violent for theaters” etc, but they always end up being so lame.
Captivity’s about a female model who gets kidnapped. The kidnapper locks her in a room, and frequently drugs her and puts her through a series of physical and psychological torture. It’s not as exciting as it sounds really. I almost fell asleep during the movie. The only thing that kept me awake was me paying attention to all the people walking out on the movie.
Yeah, captivity bombed huge on RT.
My friend in LA saw hairspray and said it was her favorite movie of the year, topping Ratatouille. Everything I’ve heard about it is good, gonna go see it friday.
So I finally got to see Chasing Amy since the HMV here got it in stock.
Fucking depressing ending.

they went crazy then when the genre was dying, kind of like how horror is dying again
I saw zodiac yesterday as well, good performances but too fucking long. Still good though, serial killers are always interesting, even though I already read the dudes book and some other stuff on the Zodiac.
I just saw die hard 4 and, can I say, rediculous. Very over the top fights. it was like watching a subdued version of metal gear without the smart plot. The semi vs. the F-34 was crazy. What did you guys think of the movie ?
transformers was ridiculous and yes I know someone is about to bash on me but I rather be honest than to lie about the movie in general. Had points that were unnecessary especially the way they mocked the bug. just my 2cents
Did anyone get a chance to see Sunshine? The visuals and music are fucken quality… and all of Danny Boyle’s movies are great.

That’s true, but I feel like After Dark Films really rely on that type of marking way to much to make up for their lack of entertaining films (at least for me).
I think too that they tend to really over exaggerate excessively.
