I don’t have a huge interest in seeing zodiac. jake g. really bothers me these days
I went to see ‘Hot Fuzz’ last night and highly recommend it. It’s a comedy from here in the uk by the team who brought you ‘Shaun of the Dead’ (the ‘zom-rom-com’ which gained critical praise from Romero himself). I’ve been a fan of their stuff since way back when they did the channel 4 sitcom ‘Spaced’, and what can I say, this new film is no dissapointment.
Some really big laughs to be had at this one. It’s set in the UK but there are loads of references to US movies, that’s one thing these guys do: load their films with subtle (and not-so-subtle) homages and references.
If this has got a US release yet then whaddyawaiting for, GO SEE IT!
EDIT: here’s the trailer:
i watched Pans Labyrinth and liked it, although i expected a little more fantasy. Good movie. which one is better? dream girls or the last king of scotland?
Me and my friend found this website to watch free movies. onempeg.com or something like that.
I told him to click on the DoA movie. I just wanted to see the beginning for the hell of it. But we ended up watching the whole thing. Man, that was crappiest movie I’ve ever seen in my life. Terrible story, stupid fight scenes. There was even a volleyball scene with the girls. Gen Fu was in it for a total of maybe 1 minute. Helena hooks up with some nerd named Weatherby that was in the movie.
It was entertaining, I suppose. I figured since we already watched about a half hour of it, we might as well finish the whole thing. Now I regret doing that.
Finally saw The Departed, just an awesome movie all around.
I hate to admit it…I was 100% positive that my Marky Mark hate would never be diminished…but that dude was fucking awesome…I can’t hate anymore. Loss of hate…damn.
finally watched inconvenient truth last night. i found it to be a very amazing and important documentary. i’m not even going to talk about it’s contents and i do NOT want to spark any discussion of it, but what i saw really shook me.
i have “who killed the lectric car” and “jesus camp” at the top of my list right now
hi
yesterday i watched 300 the movie…
best comic book movie so far i think…best movie i ve seen lately…
together with the gladiator its the best movie of that kind…
The Sentinel (remake): Started out interesting enough but crashed beginning when Michael Douglas is revealed to be sleeping with the first lady. Movie falls victim to too many unbelievable actions by characters, from Michael Douglas running in the first place to basically every single thing the assassins did. Keifer didnt have much to do and his character was basically a joke. The one scene of the foot race between Douglas and Kiefer was extremely confounding in that while it is going on you have no idea what the purpose is.
The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill - This movie ruled.
I couldn’t find the old thread for Horrorfest 2006 (was it merged into this one?), but I figured I’d put this here in case anyone is interested. 7 of last year’s horrorfest films are coming to DVD next week: http://www.horrorfestonline.com/index.html
I think the consensus was that the Gravedancers looked the most promising. I’ll have to see if they’re available on blockbuster.com…
