The SRK Movie Fanatic Thread (REVIEWS, QUESTIONS, RANTS, STARS...ETC.) EVERYTHING!

Yeah well that doesn’t give the movie an excuse. Also, this young whippersnapper did real those novels later on.

Rocky Balboa was a great ass movie. Sly wrote/directed/acted in a great, great film. If I had it my way, he’d be a Best Actor nod, but it’ll properly go to Leo :arazz: (Its not that I don’t like Leo, its just that I can’t get over that baby face of his. Trying to act and hard and grow a beard didn’t help. Neither did having that phonyass accent in Blood Diamond either.

Did anyone see the movie “One Missed Call”? Its another Japanese horror movie along the lines of “The Ring”. I thought it was pretty good, but could someone explain the ending to me? It seemed like a joke.

so i watched eragon. Ok movie like a 2/5. Ive never read the book or anything but on a sole movie critic, movie felt like it was rushed. Like they tried to cram and move the story along way too fast.

What’s the longest American movie ever made? A couple that came to mind were:

Once Upon a Time in America: 229 minutes
Godfather 2: 200 minutes
Lawrence of Arabia: 216 minutes
The Ten Commandments: 220 minutes
Lord of the Rings Return of the King: 201 minutes (252 minutes extended edition)
Dances with Wolves Director’s Cut: 236 minutes
Ben Hur: 212 minutes

Kill Bill would have been up there (both volumes together are 247 minutes long) but the movie was split up. Are there any other movies that are up in the 200+minute range that I may have missed? If so please let me know. I’m still trying to figure out what’s the longest movie ever made.

P.S. I already checked Wikipedia and all they had were a bunch of experimental or foreign films. I wouldn’t even count those as movies.

I’m guessing the answer would be von Stroheim’s Greed, an American film whose final print ran 10 hours long. Unfortunately MGM later had it re-cut and destroyed most of the negative so now we only have a 239 minute restored cut available.

I enjoyed A Scanner Darkly, the ending threw me for a loop trying to remember what the fuck he was doing haha.

Sat through the Riddick trilogy again over the weekend; still good, nothing great but plenty of potential in the char / universe still imo.

Gonna go through Half Nelson & Good Sheppard later.

HK movies still suck.

HK movies still suck.

what? either the ones you have seem are either stupid or you have a lousy choice in selecting the channel 5 action cinema specials. (im assuming you’re referring to hong kong films) if so, try blade of fury for starters

they made a third riddick? or do you mean some cartoon or other?

Dark Fury is considered canon apparently.

I think they put Escape from Butcher Bay a part of canon as well lol. Quadrilogy!

wtf. Hong Kong movies rock. A Better Tomorrow, The Killer, Hard Boiled…these movies kick ass!

what are some good kung fu flicks with lots of action.

Shaolin & Wu Tang. Buy it tomorrow.

re: above

you obviously need a lot to learn about the genre

yet you dont attempt to help.

Great, now we’re gonna get this huge rant about how awesome Kung-Fu movies are, how much of a fakeass bitch Bruce Lee was, and a laundry list of subbed and dubbed flicks.

Just joking ya know('cept for the Bruce Lee part) >_>

Anyway, watched A Scanner Darkly today. I liked it, in that “WTF is this shit” kinda thing.

There’s a kung fu movie thread a few pages back if you want to search for it.

has anyone seen "pan’s labyrinth’? it’s getting some pretty good reviews…

Something I received in my email today…

Hmmmm…I was skeptical for a minute. Conspiracy?
