The SRK Movie Fanatic Thread (REVIEWS, QUESTIONS, RANTS, STARS...ETC.) EVERYTHING!

Dunno people on IMDB said he actually did the stuff. They were pointing to the novel and its sequel as proof.

It’s been awhile since I watched American Psycho, but I prefer the ‘he actually did it’ angle. That would mean Bateman is so insignificant and indistinguishable among his social circle, that nobody cares that he confessed to being a homicidal maniac. But that’s pretty ridiculous.

It annoyed me that playboy Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins was Patrick Bateman-lite. The character was improved in TDK thankfully.

Just saw the trailer for this. Looks really interesting and I’ll be checking it out

^i should’ve said in my post to AVOID the trailer. it shows some key scenes that’s better if u didnt know about it. i went in knowing nothing about it other than it’s a good movie.

oh as for the top movies of the 2000s, one movie that i feel is HELLA underrated is master and commander…that movie was hella good…

Just got back from watching “A Haunting in Connecticut.” It was pretty good actually. A lot of the adverts on tv made me think it would be a movie filled with just horrific flashes for cheap scares like “The Ring” but it had a little more that carried it. The last movie I saw that had a vibe as creepy as this was “The Exorcism of Emily Rose.” Now that was a creepy ass movie. “A Haunting in Connecticut” isn’t as freaky as em rose, but it is definitely worth at least the price of an afternoon matinee ticket.

Just saw Knowing, great movie had me hooked from beginning to end. Raises some interesting discussions of aliens or angels and the parallels to the bible, our perpection of God or viewing technologically superior beings as Gods, and time travel.

Great combination of religion and sci-fi
8/10

You are missing out, its a great movie!

American Psycho ending.

Spoiler

It doesn’t matter whether it actually happened or that it was all in his head. The film takes place from his subjective point of view, so you’re not getting an accurate version of the facts either way. The ending makes its point, whether the events are “real” or imagined.

Watch Role Models this weekend. I think the Apatow-esque comedies are my guilty pleasure. Enjoyed it and laughed a lot…

Collateral is better than Heat in many ways, I’ll admit. For those who found Heat too bloated and drawn out, Collateral (while not really similar to Heat) doesn’t waste time getting to the point of the movie. It’s also one of Tom Cruise’s better performances (nothing mindblowing though).

I watched Twilight this weekend. took me 3 nights to get through it. It could have been much better. Didn’t feel very dramatic and nothing really happened. Ending was very abrupt.

I popped in Hellraiser 2 to see how it upconverted (pretty badly). What struck me was the music during the opening titles - total all out operatic bombast. They dont do it like that anymore…

I watched Hellraiser 2 for the first time a few months ago. I didn’t enjoy it that much, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the first one. Hellraiser goes into that huge list of movies that had a really good idea, but I didn’t feel it was executed as good as it could have been…

I would agree with you, but Heat is an amazing movie if you are patient enough. Only movie that I’ve watched were I wanted the bad guy to win. Were as Collateral had a piss poor ending

Taxi driver out shoots the trained assassin standing 15ft away wtf

Another movie I’m everyone has watched is The Departed (another piss poor ending). Does anyone know the Japanese movie that the film might of been based on or inspired by the original story?

I thought it was a Korean film it was based off of…isn’t it Infernal Affairs?

Thats the one thanks! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/
I wasn’t sure where it was from. There is a sequel(prequel) too , which isnt rated too badly either. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369060/

The Departed has a great ending

There’s 3 films (I saw the other two the other day). The 2nd’s a prequel, with the people who died in part 1 playing a larger role, the 3rd’s a sequel to part 1. Maybe instead of just copying IA scene-for-scene, they could have combined the best parts of the trilogy. I like Scorcese, but it’s messed up that a movie that’s just a Western facsimilie of the original would get the Oscar glory the original didn’t.

I thought Heat’s love/family interest subplots were too drawn out for the message the movie wanted to convey. Collatreral had problems, but it’s a leaner, more efficient story than Heat.

I just didn’t like how they killed off the character it didnt make any sense.

[details=Spoiler] Leonardo DiCaprio’s character uses Matt Damon’s character as a human shield to enter the elevator, then with no apparent logic when he reaches the bottom he thinks all well, he has no need for a human shield. Elevator reaches the bottom doors open BANG!

Doh!

It was so clumsy, they could of thought of 101 better ways to do it.

True, I had completely forgot about the wife and daughter problem. I need to watch the movie again.

just saw monsters vs aliens last night. very entertaining, some parts were really funny.

this might not be the thread for it but in case someone knows - i was told there are some korean soap operas that are apparently really really good. anyone know any names i can look up?

How is it compared to Bolt, that movie was a none stop laugh for me thanks to Rhino and the pigeons
