Well dang, now that I’ve gotten my senior moment for the day out of the way. Somewhat related. . .
I hate the snow, and just crank up some Powerwolf while attacking that mess with a shovel.

Sadly, human rights was part of politics since there was humans.
I felt that games where deeper and more interesting for it, even if there was a game where I didn’t always agree with the message. Which is not always the case, I did agree with the message the MGS series had to say in each game. And I agree its more relevant than ever.

I think it means that the entertainment value of the product is too awful to ignore ideological nonsense and dogma. But I don’t watch sports except MMA unless it is in person and haven’t watched television for years, so what do I know…

To me it seems like it was brewing for years between them. I’ve seen loud ass arguments because one person put snow, or trash, in the other’s yard. When I read the story I was like WTF but seeing the video of it I was really like WTF!!!
You know Yak has made it when we get complaints about it, when a few years ago, Sony stepped in to release Y5 outside of Japan.
Border Break is dope and I thought it was going to leave Japan when the PS4 version was announced. Same with VO:OT. What’s worse about VO:OT is reportedly as solid as the 360 release. Damn you Sega.

The problem is that it’s not usually dogmatic nonsense, it’s an actual point and instead of addressing it people be lazy and go “I don’t want politics in my entertainment” which is generally code for “I don’t want ideas I disagree with in the media I choose to consume.” Can also be code for “I don’t want ideas I don’t understand in the media I choose to consume.” I see that one a good deal to.

Superficially, I have no beef with Yakuza games.
I hear they’re fun, and people enjoy them.
The problem is I grew up in the Jurassic era of gaming. I remember the Master System, I remember the Genesis, I remember the Saturn, never mind the arcades - and all the fun games Sega used to make.
Although I also remember Sega and it’s business ties to the yakuza, so I can understand their desire to keep the bosses happy with popular depictions in media. Perhaps with Nagoshi stepping down other titles and better relations with America can thrive?
Let’s get a new Altered Beast and Golden Axe to compliment that new Streets of Rage.
