The SRK Blazblue General Discussion Thread

Wait, differences in engine? Maybe I’m reading this wrong but the American release of the game will be the exact same to the last bit as the Japanese release right!?

-Tha Hindu

In essence if ARC find something they need to patch right after the Jap release, most likely the US version will have it first. The release date of the US version is only couple days behind the JAP release but we getting it express shipping on the boards to US so the time lapse won’t be too far off

that are great news to hear, on a side note, maybe you can tell us if the console port would have online play? please:bgrin:

After having lunch today with my family, I’ve discovered Litchi’s name can be spelled in different ways (but pronounced one way). Litchi is a chinese fruit. Wiki article.

Regarding the American release of BlazBlue, I would hope the final version is identical to the Japanese version aside from being in English… yes? Hopefully?

iron tager looks super fucking stupid but his gameplay looks like potemkin but more grappley i dunno if i should pic him or move on

IN regards if the US version will be identical to the Jap version, yes they will be. Other text of course. If the US version gets a updated version, I’m sure the Jap version will be patched shortly.

gameplay wise, he really looks badass, desing wise, i guess that depends of the taste of the people, i really feel that he looks cool, you should give him a chance, he really looks interesting

My thoughts on the BB cast as shown in the latest video:

Ragna

  • Boring design, lame sword (not sinister-looking enough), his arms are too skinny.
  • The “darkness” element seems well implemented, and is an unusual trait for a main character.

Jin

  • FAR too skinny (even for a bishounen character), his Distortion Drives could be more impressive.
  • Iaido-style fencing style, using EX/Force Break moves as a character trait is a novel idea.

Noel

  • Her voice sounds too squeaky, and her win pose fails to impress.
  • Very intriguing fighting style (balance between far range/melee combat), memorable design, best-looking Distortion Drive so far (Fenrir - say goodbye to recycled animation!).

Tager

  • IMO the worst design in the game.
  • Magnetic powers, comboable command throw + Distortion Drive, satisfactory voice acting.

Rachel

  • Both the umbrella and the bat could stand to look a little less… infantile.
  • Some fairly original moves and animations, the electrocution effects are priceless.

Taokaka

  • Big floppy paws, Wolverine vibes.
  • Chesire Cat-esque design, projectiles, her “leap on top of the opponent” Distortion Drive is uproariously amusing to watch.

Hmmm, thanks for the Nico video clip and the famitsu article. The ingame pics make me interested in Laichi again. And yes, I’ll keep on calling her that… much more Chinese. Bang can have a silly name, but not her… pah.

Hmmmm, been searching a bit but I can’t find what you refer to. Neither interview no future nor tougeki turned up anything useful. Actually, interview and tougeki specifically brought up your post as the only result. Are you sure this was posted here?

Any1 decided to buy it ?

Wow, after that vid I’m actually hype to play Rachel and the Ky guy now.

I agree. Though Racheal seems slower than I would have liked. The frogs are dope!

Oh wow, they finally showed Bang Shishigami! That character is fuckin’ awesome!

Rachel is a pretty sweet character, she has great specials with the frog, lightning rods and Purple Pumpkins.

Her attacks weren’t that great though when I tried her, she does have two attacks that are pretty cool like her scissor attack 6+Medium Attack which stuns your opponent for a second upon hit and her electric Chair which is her crouching Hard Attack which electrifies her opponent for a few seconds.

Somebody upload those vids on Youtube!!

Can anyone describe Rachel in more detail?

Basically is a mix of dizzy and testament (more like Dizzy I think) character minus the curse (which arakune has) and poison. Her gameplay consists on keeping the opp away while seting her traps on the screen, she has few attacks (3 I think) but all of them can be done in the air also. Her “Sylpheed” ability helps her to keep away opponents, as well to control proyectiles (im guessing you can do combos which other way would be imposible to do)

Overall a very original character if you ask me.

theres just 1 thing I dont know…her distortion drive. I think you can control where the lighting is going to fall by those…uhh
lightning rod things, but im not sure.

and to the questions about differences between versions, I think the guy meant that we’ll just get the fixed version based on what japanese players report was wrong.

Like the US accent core home version vs the Japanese one.

and the trailer is hot. I must say that the whole cast has grown on me. Will definitely be picking this up when it hits PS3. and if CTF gets a machine, I’ll make the trip to get on it.

Wow, a mix of Dizzy and Tesatment?

Holy shit I’m sold.

:lovin: :lovin: :lovin: :lovin: :lovin: :lovin: :lovin:

Probably helps that she’s a loli.

I’m going to throw that drink in your face next week.

Just you wait.
