anyways, maybe i should clarify what i meant: even though i’m not sure (i would actually doubt) if someone representing ASW has come out and said, “we’re copying GG character design into BB because we want to keep that style in our new games,” it’s just a feeling/vibe that some people are getting, given this extra information.
of course, if you feel it’s boring/uninnovative, then that’s still your call to make.

And I’m sure the only reason why BB’s character design doesn’t seem all “crazy” is probably because the character designer isn’t a complete nutjob (lol Ishiwatari).
Well considering how long GG has been out, I think comparisons will end up being inevitable.
To be quite frank though, I’d rather get an entire new casts that kinda feels like the stuff we’re used to (ala 3S) but is still quite new vs the same exact shit we’ve been playing for 14 years (SF4), and this game seems to be doing a good job on the former rather then the latter.

Ah, I see. Also, as I have heard, since Ishiwatari holds some creative right, he is responsible for Guilty Gear NOT turning into an anime. He opposed that.
I’m curious as to what they’ll be doing with this series.
That aside, an interesting trivia bit: BlazBlue now has 10 characters, the precisely same amount of characters the original Guilty Gear has. So my guess would be two sub-bosses (was Baiken and Testament) and one final boss, who Justice represented. Cheers to me if I am right.
Also, concerning that new video: Watch out for Tager’s barrier bar getting decimated by Rachel shortly before the 2 minute mark. Pretty scary.

To set up her Lightning Rods, its 236+Any Button, each button launches a projectile ball critter looking thing on different lengths and when the projectile lands it makes the lighting rod. The projectile can even hit the opponent and after the hit the Lightning Rod sets up anyways.
To activate the Lightning Rods, you have to do 2,2+Hard Attack and all Lightning Rods will detonate and she even has a super involving the lightning rods, great for zoning.
The Purple Pumpkin projectile is very similar to Testaments Skull projectile, except it moves very slow, but once you hit her Drive, the Purple Pumpkin shoots toward the opponent like a bullet.
The Exploding Frog detonates when its close to the opponent, but the Frog can be stopped if the opponent hits the Frog, Rachel’s Drive has no effect on the Frog.

EDIT The arcade owner may have been mistaken when he said blazblue because he could’ve meant sf4. I’m waiting on a response to see if it was a mistake or not. If so, then he meant SF4 will be here next week in Philly and then blazblue when it’s released.
Does anyone know when the release date for the arcade version is anyways?
