i think you may have missed some background about why ASW is doing BlazBlue, in the first place. read through the thread again; maybe do a search for “interview”, there was an interview in a Tougeki Damashii issue with someone from ASW about BB and the “future of GG”, and someone posted about it in here.
quoted for shits. Pikachu confirmed for bb
And to think we could have played “Who’s That Pokemon?” with the character silhouettes if only that had that been posted earlier.
Fuck this goddamn place.:shake:
On a related note, Arakune makes me so happy, not only is he my favorite character design in this game, his entire combat system seems to play exactly how I love. Show em what’s up, No-Face.
I think that’s intentional though, lol
I think they purposely gave each character something that reminded people of Guilty Gear. They want that association because they want those same fans playing their new game.
But if you look at gameplay, they are far from carbon copies. Tager is probably the most like the GG char he reminds us of, but from what I’ve heard he doesn’t play like potemkin at all. He doesn’t have Potemkin’s ways of closing the gap on the opponent and instead relies on his magnetism arc drive to bring the opponent to him.
So bottom line, I think they look similar for a reason. But from what I hear about the gameplay, they might as well all be new characters.(Save for maybe Ragna, but fuck that guy)
I played some of those characters and they do feel much different than GG characters. Taokaka is more of a Wolverine character and Rachel plays much different.
Tager definitely reminds everyone of Potemkin, but his moves are different, I think you do the grab by doing a 360 motion not Potemkin’s motion.
I haven’t seen this link with better resolution pics, thanks :bgrin:
So her name is Litchi Faye-Ling, there was so many name translation for the Chinese chick.
Shouldn?t have been. ??? is one way to spell ?lychee? in Japanese. Litchi is one way to spell lychee in English.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, Aksys Games have decided to bring BlazBlue to American arcades. As we speak, we’re open for orders for BlazBlue with Taito Type-X2 motherboard. We’re also offering the new Vewlix-L cabinets for the general American public as well. So if anyone out there or knows anyone that might be interested, please have them get in touch with me ASAP as we’re only bringing in limited quantities. Pricing will be very competitive, as we’re planning to offer the US public the same cost as what Japan offers to their general public/distributors.
Pass the word along and support the fighting game cause!
Wow, great news for arcades in north america! Even though I’m not in NA (from Toronto but I live in Osaka now) this is a great service you guys are doing for fighting game fans. Keep up the good work!
Hopefully TGA/UP/CF get this.
Very nice information, I’m definitely going to try and see about my local arcades getting a piece of this.
edit: By the by, where would one be able to place an order. Trying to do some homework on this before I try and pitch anything.
I think my heart stopped for just a second X_x :lovin:
What’s up homies… I’ll help spread the word
and if the people interested isnt in usa, is there still a chace? (Honduras for being more precise)
Someone PLEASE let CTF know ASAP!
Thank you Aksys.
I hit up CTF and let them know about it last week… Hopefully they get it!
About an American release though? Granted I don’t know how much a difference it will make…
Thanks to Xaq.
Thanks for the great responses guys. As it stands, the Blazblue version that we’re planning to bring for the American audience is complete english and maybe a few minor differences in game engine depending on our location test surveys. I can tell you that we plan to support all titles we bring here to the fullest, including bringing in Sanwa parts to fulfill any operators needs. In the meantime, anyone can reach us about the arcade distribution through coinop@aksysgames.com
Thanks again guys.
Side Note: If anyone is interested in ordering, we’re taking preorders right now with no money down and we are willing to ship internationally as well.
