The Spirit movie thread

In a good way or a bad way?

I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. I’m glad it was funny, but Frank Miller’s sense of humor isn’t nearly as charming as Will Eisner’s. Visually, though, it was amazing.

The Spirit is what got me into comics in the first place.

If what I’m reading is true, y’all just saved me 10 bucks.

lol

i agree with this statement.

I saw it on christmas eve.

it was HORRIBLE. Seriously.

‘The Spirit’ movie that could have been

Finally saw this movie last night.

Wow, this movie was so bad it was good! A failure of epic proportions that must be experienced on the big screen! You want my rating, pfff, as if Frank Miller set out to entertain… ANYONE when he created this movie, PUHLEASE. Zero stars.

If you want to support Frank Miller but don’t want to see a bad movie than go buy a ticket for this flick. Once you are in the theater go sneak in to see Benjamin Button, Doubt, or whatever else is getting Oscar buzz at the moment. But if you have a sense of humor about bad movies and like straight to video B films than go see The Spirit.

I can’t say I was bored the entire time I was watching the movie so there is that. Like I said, it’s so bad, it’s good. :looney: Which is still better than being so bad, it’s bad, like Halle Berry Catwoman oooh…

Will Eisner’s The Spirit still deserves a lot better though.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago,it was pretty good. The only good part in this movie was Eva Mendes naked…LOVELY!!!

Saw it a few weeks ago too never read the comic but it wasn’t too bad made me laugh a few times and Eva Mendes is awesome I would have rather rented it though

Yeah, Mendez’s glorious booty was the one saving grace for the piece of trash.

I’m with sama, it was so bad it was funny. The dialog nearly killed me.

“Me and the octopus are connected! I know it!”

“How do you know!?”

“Because, he just told me!”

Oh and

“I’M NOT ON DRUGS!”

I can honestly say, I actually enjoyed this movie…if that means I have bad taste then so be it. I’ll admit, some of the jokes were straight retarded…but, overall I was satisfied. Anybody going into this movie expecting an Eisner-style story in a moving picture was sorely mistaken. All in all a decent solo film for Mr. Miller, it had a slightly darker tone than that of the original Spirit, but never once took itself too seriously.
