After seeing how Alex turned out, I’m totally expecting Juri’s v-skill to be some kind of focus attack. Especially since she is the only SF4 legacy char for this season.
I’m convinced that it will be her counter teleport. It’s like a perfect move for a v-skill. Depending on the direction you press mp+mk determines where she teleports to after being hit, kind of like Nash’ v-skill teleport.
Agreed. Unless they really change things up, like give Juri a useful FA, or remove the raw FA usage, and just let her v-skill allow her to “FADC” out of certain moves to keep her opponents guessing.
Juris Counter works because of her FSE.
So far it looks like she doesn’t have it.
I except more TKD based moves as V-Skill and V-Trigger for her.
And her teleport as V-Skill would be stupid, that move would be better as V-Reversal.
Get creative with this stuff boys, you say what you want and accept it to be right,everyone who wants Urien is sure Aegis will be V-Trigger and in the end it won’t. Get creative.

I think her pinwheel and modified version of her projektile will make it into the game.
Her divekick might make it,but it will probably change too.
As V-Skill, she should get something for defence, maybe a counterstance that can counter the next move. If your guess was correct press V-Skill again to kick the opponent away,causing a wallbounce for a follow-up.
Her V-Trigger could be like a Red Focus attack. If done in a Combo, it will crumble the opponent allow you to extend it, if done in the Neutral, you can charge it,absorb anything that hit you and automaticly cause a Guard Break and a Crumble on hit. Against Airbone opponents will this cause a wallbounce with a free juggle. 2 stocks
Her V-Reversal should be something more badass, like jumping her opponent on the shoulder,than jump away while kicking them in the backhead.
Get creative and don’t do this boring teleport = V-Skill FSE= V-Trigger stuff, that would be to uncreative for all the redesign the characters got.
I agree with Cipher on this one. While i still want to play the Juri i know, i still want some change.
Her Vskill should be totally new, not the teleport with a different button input. I just hope the creative side of Capcom won’t make her vskill either useless or broken as hell.
I think the difference here is that some people are posting predictions based on what they think capcom will do, and people’s wishlists.
Juri’s pre-existing moves refitted into the SFV subsystems is boring, but would match what capcom has done before e.g. cammy’s spin knuckle.
I’m not a fan of bringing focus attacks back, but with Alex’s v-trigger and v-skill both being shoutouts to SF3 mechanics… I wouldn’t put it past them.
But anyway, I’ll play along. My wishlist for Juri would be something like:
Revamp the store mechanic to be her v-skill. While stocked she can throw out a fireball like normal, or perform an enhanced kick attack like the ones she has in omega mode. For added craziness, allow her to store multiple times, allowing her to chain several specials together kind of like Jam in GG.
V-reversal will be a “getoff me” attack that causes KD. Especially if she has no good wakeup reversal.
Let her keep her Ex divekick off a backjump.
Give her a CA that travels quickly across most or fullscreen. This is to give Juri something to punish with who are normally too far away.
V-trigger is FSE. Yeah it’s boring, but dammit it’s her signature install.
Would a focus attack V-Skill even be good in this game where backdashes are not invincible and can be CC’d? It’s basically a more risky version of Zangief’s V-Skill in these regards, along with it being more baitable too since you wouldn’t be able to cancel your focus attack.
And yes the teleport should not be her V-Skill… she doesn’t even have that many moves in the first place, I dunno what benefit she’d get from it becoming a V-Skill, they would likely make it so you lose white health in order to build V-Gauge too, and that wouldn’t be good.
I guess it depends on her inputs? It isn’t like they couldn’t give her new specials to replace the counter input. In my opinion if it built V meter, her teleport counter would be too strong so maybe they won’t, but archetypally speaking it makes the most sense. The reason she doesn’t have that many moves is because her normals and specials make it so that she covers basically every attack vector though, right? I mean why would even need ‘more moves,’ given that. I personally think they’ll need to give her a better wake up option given the general lack/tempered nature of fadc (I mean v cancel is strong sure but nowhere near as safe/reliable as in iv.) Her style didn’t rely on it too heavily in iv, but unlike other characters she is the only one without a template to draw from that did not include that mechanic and is therefore balanced for it. Definetly looking forward to at least /something/ new move wise though, even if it isn’t more than one move maybe a few normals tweaks.
Mix between one and two imo. As far as tweaks go I’d like something like LK Senpusha to hit twice on crouch blockers for example.
I’m certain she will remain a character that’s harder to use than the rest of the cast, as in not a good character for people not experienced enough. If we’re going with the gameplay stats thing I expect her technique stat to be at 4 at least.
Nice write up on it, in some ways it does make sense… her normals would be so good if they remain the same in this game, too.
I look forward to something new moveset wise as well along with some normal tweaks, personally her Omega stuff is good enough for me.
