Yeah that’s all I’ve said about her is that she’s better than the worst characters. People didn’t want to believe me and had her worst character when even Capcom is really scared to give this character much more than she has. Only thing that makes her appear weak is her learning curve which she is by far the most difficult character to use in a game where most characters are generally easier to use. Having an extremely high learning curve when you’re not top tier usually masks your overall power for a long time. Once you get all of her nuances down she’s a character with a good amount of options for neutral and opening people up while being able to shit on fireballs as well.
Nearing solid mid or there. She has too many tools that other worse characters don’t. She has some differences from Cammy as well including the ability to charge a V Skill which shuts out fireballs even easier than Cammy can and the fact that she has a fireball that she can follow allows her to be fundamentally different and apply pressure differently from Cammy. Plus having an overhead to help break people up when they are stiff on defense.
Some small buffs to her and changes (aka nerfs) to other characters will have her in pretty good spot. If certain V Trigger are toned and she gets some basic QoL changes she can very easily be high mid or better.
ok seriously which are these worst characters in your opinion? I can’t see many, if any myself so you’ll have to elaborate
I agree here, she has all the tools but they all have minor problems and I strongly believe that with all the small problems fixed plus her toolkit she would be by far the strongest function.
I don’t think she’s hard, but harder then the rest of the cast. You actually have to learn when you are + rather then just looking at raw frame data. You’re max damage doesn’t consist of strong>fierce>dp/fireball. You have to decide what to cancel into or adjust your attacks to make shit work, i.e. if you ch stMP you have to decide where to combo from there and omit the stMK because first hit will whiff and end your combo.
With Juri you actually have to know and work on whiff punishing/ buffering, throwing/baiting and OS’ing because otherwise you don’t get any damage and will end up straight up cornered.
When you put it this way it makes me wonder: maybe this is the reason sometimes losing with her makes me mad while I don’t get mad when I love with other character, when I play Ibuki I can always tell myself well I fucked up here and here, but with Juri I have some games where I am overwhelmed and all I can think is “what the fuck was I supposed to do?”
Back on the SF4 board, I posted a video of this cosplayer doing bellydancing as Juri Han. Even Ono liked it. But her channel has been deleted :annoyed:
True, but this one has one of the better hair drills
Same, its easier to look at mistakes on setup heavy characters, you loose from setup drops or the opponent guessing right, Juri is much more technical in that sense, no guaranteed 50/50s for meter.
I always take it off at the start, then I rematch and forget to take it off, then 1st round ends and I forget again, but if there is a 3rd round… I still forget, man I would love for it to be a predetermined choice instead of an input
