he never played on stream though, I would have liked to see if he plays her better now.
Only AiAi was on stream and his match got me confused, he did a normal fierce xx mk release xx crouch strong xx mk ryo combo but it seems to do a lot more damage than when I do it
@âDevilJin 01â I think you were right about Juri being able to take a tournament. I think sheâs good, but needs buffs.
She is still a discount Cammy IMO. But discount Cammy is still strong, cr.mk confirms and her spaced fireball pressure are good, 3f cr.lk is a good option also. Decent damage, good corner carry, probably the best throw-game out of the cast.
So yes, I think your opinion that Juri isnât terrible is true. But there are aspects that need changing. I think she only needs a retuning of V-trigger and some work on 1 or 2 normals and she is a very good character.
So, I have a bad habit I wanna correct and Iâm well aware of it but I just canât stop:
I always AA with DP or Air Throw instead of s.HP, any suggestions on how to lose this habit? I expecially go for air throw because is easier to do on reaction.
I am missing stores though, also it doesnât cover certain jump-ins say for example Head Press, Iâm more concerned on how much I rely on air throw though.
Finally found an Infiltration reoplay from Japan Cup, heâs playing solid and doing Juri things, also heâs anti-airing with standing fierce, I would say he was clearly just pushing for Juri to get buffs with his tweets making it look worst than it was.
DP > St.hp, St.hp is good but just use DP if you can use it. Youâll never trade.
Air throw really shouldnât be considered for standard AAâing, but itâs fantastic for A2Aâs and is also an incredible counter to Demon Flip pressure.
Just keep using DP, you get a free store upon landing.
Serious question: why do you think Juri has no + on block normals⌠Or well moves on general I suppose, outside of lights and s.MP (which does not lead to combos anyway if used twice)?
Her frame data looks a lot like the one of the big characters with long tracing pokes (Birdie, Abby) and I cannot understand why.
Because the idea was that she was supposed to be a mixup and combo queen, and V-Trigger would enhance that. Her tools, in theory, should be amazing for poking and whiff punishing. However, we can all tell by design that every thing in her kit was designed to be 10% away from being good, perhaps because they were afraid itâd be too good if they went all the way. So her stuff has needless restrictions and crappy faults. Why can her overhead be swept? Why can ryodansatsu be grabbed? Whatâs the point of lvl 1 V-Skill being slow AND unsafe AND interruptible? Simple answer; she was a good concept, but limited by both SFVâs lack of creativity AND Capcomâs current weird ideas for âbalancingâ. Sorry if I repeated myself at all.
And Iâll add as an addendum that this doesnât mean I havenât fought hard to make the best of her as is, and my tech vids and matches can attest to that. But Iâd be lying if Iâm not salty that sheâs still so jank compared to other character who get to do whatever they want.
what mixups though? She doesnât have an high-low combo and the only left-right I can think of is fireball pour ryo after CC sweep. Other than tick throw or thick into s.MPxx s.mk whatâs there?
