Can we PLEASE for the love of god get a kick based CA if that’s true. Her CA is quite possibly the worst in the game. It’s great from a hit confirming perspective but it looks like trash.

Or hell, can they just redesign her VFX and make them purple/pink? New Feng Shui Engine can eat a dick.

I remember first seeing her CA and thinking wtf is that?!

Well, to be fair, that’s what I was thinking about her whole gameplay style when I first saw her lol

Her CA lacks “personality” it’s just a big fireball,has nothing to do with her as a character. Compare it with both her ultras from 4 : FSE was a real threat,had her eye glowing all the time and transformed her into beast mode that she had in the OVA while Ulta 2 not only that it had a cool animation she also taunted the other character while sticking her foot on his spine…

V…lemme just throw this NON purple fireball that does not even go fullscreen.

Props to whoever did her character model and who designs the costumes,the rest of you who tuned this character and especially who thought a character revamp was needed to her gameplay,well you really need to recheck your decisions when it comes to her because her fanbase is falling apart.

Is her CA animation recycled? It looks a lot like her focus, which was recycled already as her… whatever that shit was called in x tekken… the buddy mode super.

I played VS a pretty decent bronze Juri on my alt account I use to learn Ibuki. I saw how our opponents s33 us, I was like "holy Fuck I just block low and press jab and she can’t do shit"
It was sad

Yea that’s one of the issues,nobody really fears Juri.

With Karin you get poked and frame trapped to death,anything combos CA.
Ibuki you fear bombs and vortex.
Bison,Cammy,Rashid non stop pressure.
Balrog touches you once and you are dead.
Zangief and Laura,Mika,grappler vortex.
Ken,Akuma burst damage.

Juri no threat with no stores,no threat with stores as well.Nobody respects her options and why should they ? Anything she does others can do back better and less dependant on resources.

She is a resource management character that is hardly rewarded for having them.

While it is more complex than that, you’re not wrong. The issue too is that, depending on who you talk to, whenever people suggest changes for her to make her more threatening, it’s met by cries of ‘No, don’t do that, it’d make her broken or unfair’. Hell, there’s a camp of people that think she doesn’t need changes at all, and should remain AS IS. Hell, it almost seems like people don’t want her to be strong, cause they don’t want to worry about another tough character to deal with, and that mindset is concerning. Like they’d rather Juri be weak and her players continue to suffer as long as they themselves have an easy time.

What makes a strong character, especially in this game, is having something threatening. People don’t even need to know the Juri matchup when their basic tools beat hers and as you pointed out they can just down back and jab for the most part. I’ve seen how players treat me when I play Karin or Mika; they’re suddenly on edge and make certain decisions. With Juri, it’s ‘oh, I can do whatever I want against this character’. And that does irk me. But still, too many conflicting messages on what people want for her, which is why I needed to make the buff suggestion list. Luckily, most people are happy with the list as a whole, although they might not agree with some of it.

However, I do sympathize with not wanting Juri to become the easy combos, braindead meta of other characters, cause despite her tier status she’s a beacon of creativity in a game that has none. And I can’t help but feel that to make her fit with the rest of the cast, her creativity would need to be sacrificed. Otherwise, they would risk making her keep her style but make it absurdly strong, and create a highly technical character that is a menace, and that would be incongruous with the rest of the cast. Either way, something would be lost. The solution really isn’t simple

Since we are on the topic of CA what do you fine people think about the possibility of her second CA to be a defensive one like SF4 Cammy U2 or Fei U2 ?
This game is flowchart and momentum heavy so an ultra like that will shift the momentum in her favour,however you risk all your ex bars on a guess and that sucks.

Ill be honest, having a counter CA when you already have invincible attacks seems somewhat redundant. I also dislike counter supers in general because it’s almost always going to be done based of a read.

The biggest upside is that it creates moments for you to press buttons when you shouldnt as people will be less auto pilot… but that is also a read.

If juri can get her stores in more safe and reliable ways then she will by default be less likely to get rushed down and put in the corner as easily. She would be able to play a more sound neutral game without constantly having to give up her footsie ranges and walking herself in the corner. She is less likely forced to block or risk eating a jump attack.

A counter CA while a nice novelty to have is basically a bandaid for something that actually needs stitches.

Give her Omega Juri’s CA. Full screen projectile invincible and combo-able off everything. Give her Omgea Juri’s “leg raise”(it’s basically a feint). Hell, so much of SFV Juri is based on Omega Juri, so just give us Omega Juri.

Well, she does have a regular fireball. It’s like Goku having a Kamehameha, and then a super kamehamaha. And later on Ryu having a hadouken, and then a metsu hadouken. And I don’t know about you, but I have wanted a fireball super since her U2 in SF4 had shitty range.

I get you but I just feel like it would fit better of her ultimate move would be a flurry of attacks,mostly with kicks. She is a former taekwondo champion after all.

Hell,why not both ? Start with a series of attacks then finish it with the fireball :slight_smile:

Wow, that’s one fetish I was not expcting someone to have.

Played some games earlier for about two hours. Still got it, kinda. I really did miss SF style confirming, Juri’s cr.mk xx LP.Pinwheel/EX Fuha/HK Fuha is probably my favourite confirm in the game. Every ender gives you sustained pressure. I might have to hit up ranked and go for Ultra Diamond, adds some credibility to the name.

Anyway, time to talk adjustments and whatnot because it was brought up in the Lounge and it sparked some new ideas to my mind.

Some important changes -
Pushback on st.mp to be reduced on block and hit - Increased counter-hit combo consistency and block pressure.

HK Fuha damage increased by 10/15 - Juri’s damage output even with stores seems low for finite resource moves.

St.mp +3 on block - This turns her st.mp - cr.mp into a 3f trap and opens up other trap options in her pressure, this is required for a character who severely lacks the ability to retain frame advantage when she’s designed to play a faster more rushdown oriented game through her redesign.

LK Fuha decreased to -1 on block - I dislike 0 on block due to the nature of HK Fuha - LK Fuha strings allowing her to continue pressure, but this would be a QoL to allow trades with 4f characters and slightly more leniency on spacing to make the fireball + on block.

EX Variants of Fuhajin to be added - Alternate versions of EX Fuha that only require bar to be used rather than stores. The LK fuha version is +2 on block, MK fuha is faster and hits overhead, and HK Fuha is the current EX version. Would open up Juri’s meter management and allow for some strong pressure to be applied. This requires animation work to be done, so it isn’t happening because Capcom are ass.

V-Trigger,
Normals cancelled into another drain the V-Meter at a MUCH slower rate.
V-Trigger timer drains more when cancelling into specials.
Specials have new VFX whilst in V-Trigger, damage of specials is increased by 10%.

  • Her V-Trigger is terrible. This will make it not terrible.

Does this include fireball no longer knocking down? I can’t be the only person that thinks it’d be a good thing to have.

Season 3 Juri will be S tier! if we believe it will become true!

I wish that was the case… I’ve been saying “next patch” since ssf4. She was good in ultra, but it took Capcom years to give her substantial buffs, and they came with some pretty drastic nerfs.

Wait… if knuckledu can charge a flash kick during VT freeze, that means I’m at lvl 2 after the freeze right? He’ll yeah, finally something new to test. Mashing back dash should avoid getting hit because of the obvious VS and give me a lvl 2 store… right?

Random tidbit, I usually look for convential ways to land big damage and luckily I’ve been using a decent frame trap to land a style combo for extra points.

Anybody else use cr.lp - cr.hp xx LK.Fuha as a frame trap? If it’s blocked you’re safe, if it hits the cr.lp auto-spaces the cr.hp to allow the LK.Fuha to hit late, so you can do dash-up st.hp xx MK Fuha.
