My reaction when cr.mp xx Ryodansatsu did enough chip damage to give him V-Reversal ā¦ but he didnāt realize
I alt Cammy, she is my stress removal button. Works good for me since she is my second favorite female in SF.
However even if she is my alt it triggers me when i see how much reward she gets of so little compared to Juri. Often it feels that you fight the character itself when you play Juri , not just the other player. I have said in a previous post that Juri needs to be more of a Street Fighter V character in order to be effective, for how much bullshit she gets, she needs to be able to throw just as much back, thatās how this game works like it or not.
People compare her with DAN , i also said that her light fireball is basically his Gadoken, but she really is not Dan, she really is Dee Jay in my opinion. Has the tools, low damage ouput, works a lot for wins and a variety of other characters do what she does with less effort and better.
Season 3 better be worth it, because otherwise i have 4 characters in WoW that need leveling, oh ā¦how i miss Ashenvale.
I remember even LI Joe forgot to V Reversal to avoid chip super during eLeague. It can happen.

the more i play Juri the more I donāt understand why she have to store her moves to do the same the things the other characters do even better for free, maybe itās my inexperience with the game talking but would she really be overpowered without the need to store the fuha moves?
Juri would be way OP is she didnt have to store thoughā¦ You can literally make everything safe with hk release into fireball, punish all fireballs with v skill. it would be complete autopilot lol
Way op is pushing it in my opinion. She is negative after all her fuhajin releases and the damage output is average at best. Stores need to be worth it, and as they sit they are not.
I do not mind the stores ,itās part of her gameplay,hell we played her for years while keeping kick buttons pressed at all times,but in that game it was worth it.From all her stores, the only one that justifies a store charge is her light fuhajin,nothing else,and even thatās a stretch looking at itās range ,itās damage and the fact that itās minus on block.
Itās not meant for zoning that i know, itās meant for pressure but she is minus after it. So whereās the logic ?
Stores can stay because they are what make Juri the character she is, but they need to be her strenght , as they sit now,itās only a hassle thatās there to gimp her some more.
She needs a bit of a buff to her releases but making them free special moves is quite a lot tbh. LK fuha can be made +2 oB with spacing, took me a while to learn how to best take advantage of this, punish max range sweeps with HK fuha, with great oki right after.
I think she can fundamentally be improved differently instead, give 3 active frames to her overhead or allow it to link in v-trigger; have stMP have slightly less pushback on CH, some of her normals need minor adjustments, like give crHP a better hitbox and give it a better hitbox to anti air, more like her v trigger version. Theyāre minor changes that would make things a lot more stable, and push her significantly higher in the ātierlist.ā
She has great tools that could/need be readjusted but doesnāt need much to be high mid-tier, it just takes work to make them work. Unless you want to be able to win from a crMK into v trigger like balrog, urien or ibuki.
Iām not talking about ābalanceā (well tbh I was but thatās not what pisses me off about her stores), I just donāt find it fun or logical (logical as in game design choices) to store her moves just to perform the most basic things like her bnb, If I happen to block a DP while Iām without stores I canāt even punish it properly while on the other hand they donāt seem to be very useful ,strong or āspecialā apart from her fireball.
Theyāre not resources that allow you to perform some moves that makes juri totally unique, theyāre just basic stuff, I mean without her MK store she canāt even perform her 234 dmg meterless bnb.
If they made a mod where she could throw all her fireballs for free with no stores, sheād most likely be number one in the game. The LK fireball strings youād be able to do would be essentially inescapable other than guess EX DP out of tiny gaps. She would essentially shut down anyone who doesnāt have an EX DP. When she has MK/HK stores ready I think only Karin can get more damage off a c.MK without burning meter or V Trigger. MK/HK stores are rather boring and not very imaginative comparing from SFIV Juri, but balance wise I think theyāre about ok at this point.
I called her DeeJuri in Season 1, so yeah (as a joke, but it probably was close enough to truth then).
DeeJay is a better comparison, but I still feel optimally sheās better than Ultra DeeJay. Season 1 might have been truly Ultra DeeJay, but with her buffs sheās above where he was now IMO. Sheās just extremely technical to optimize to the point where you canāt be an average player and make her work. Sheās near IV Viper levels of execution and management. Which optimized gets you a decent mid tier character and someone generally better than Ultra Deejay I feel.
Dan wasnāt bad up close, but he had nowhere near the toolset that Juri had and wasnāt relevant from anywhere near as far of a range as she is.
Do you guys think Capcom will give her any of the buffs the community keeps suggesting? Back in SFIV she was regarded as garbage, and the buffs that she received as a result were extremely incremental. Iād love to see her get some better frame traps and hitbox fixes, but I just donāt see Capcom actually doing it.
If Iād created Juri, Iād like to think I would have put in the work to make sure she was solid. Making sure a character can compete is just as important as creating animations, especially in a game like SF.

She is a very important āproductā of theirs imo. Very well received, added to multiple games so far and they keep adding costumes for her ( that means people buy them ). It would be a smart move to continue and trying to keep her fans interested and hooked into the game. Nerfing her or leaving her in the current state is not really a smart thing to do.
I have high hopes for season 3. One thingās for sure though, if we manage to put up with so much bullshit and be decent, imagine when she actually does get buffs.

Who knows where capcoms priorities are right now, weāll really have no idea till Season 3/ the rumored Super SF5 comes along.
But Iād say Juri will definitely be getting buffs as weāre seeing her so low in the online data every single time, the question is whether they will buff her in any meaningful way or just give her small improvements hoping players will magically figure out how to make the character work.
Juri wasnāt considered garbadge in USFIV, unfortunately a bunch of her bad matchups were mainly popular top tier characters which wouldnāt make her that good of a tournament character.
Beside that she required a character specialist due to her unique playstyle.
Juri without her stores isnāt Juri, and it takes away one of the more interesting aspects of her if they would become regular specials. The problem is indeed that her stored specials give her ābasicā utility which a lot of the other characters have without needing to store. They need to be worth their effort. The actual releases as well as the store special itself adjustments.
She has a bunch of normals that need need adjustments too such as st.mp(less pushback), cr.hp(bit more horizontal range and a reliable anti air, made -2 instead of -5) and cr.mk(more range), there are a few more but they arenāt a priority imho.
She also has a useless special in lk flipkick.
Her v-reversal doesnāt do its job, always whiffing in so many scenarios.
Then there is her VT, too much problems to name.
Juri her SFV design goes against the meta of SFV, combined with her tools being unreliable and unrewarding
I understand Juri couldnt play the same as in USFIV, her having so many fireballs on screen covering all these angles would be way too good in SFV, her redesign is fineā¦atleast the idea, the execution of it is just very poorly implemented.
On another note, iām pondering buying her nostalgic costume, although i donāt play SFV often enough to really make it worthwhile
Might get some big changes. Remember they aim this game towards the casual audience ( or so they say ). Hoping a small number of players get to the top with her is against their new development ideas.

@LockM I meant she was garbage when she was first introduced back in SSFIV. She got some buffās each time, but they were never anything that made her instantly jump up the tier list. She was pretty decent by the end of USFIVās lifespan, just seems like they reset her back to vanilla SSFV in terms of overall strength.
Anyone bought colors 11-13 for nostalgia? Iād like to see them; I like jacket-less 3-6-8.
Also to be honest Iād be ok just with a damage buff overall at this point, is not the best solution but it seems to me that opponents donāt respect But Iād options especially some high tiers. My wife was watching me play VS a Barlog I won the 1st round and was winning the second then he caught me and went full v-trigger on my ass thatās where my wife naively asked āWhy are you dead? You hit him a lot moreā

Tbh at times I kinda agree with the idea that her charge gimmick isnāt worth the trouble. I like the concept, but like others have said, why does she need to charge to get basic combo moves which other characters have for free, but hers are minus. Honestly, I wouldnāt be against her fireball being the only chargeable move, whilst MK and HK Fuha are latent abilities. I donāt think thatād make her broken, just as other characters having basic combo ability makes them broken. Know what I mean? LK Fuha, the fireball, is where all the utility comes in, but the fact that without MK Fuha you lose access to your best CC punish, and that without HK Fuha, you lose access to your best meterless corner combo, seems a bit silly. It may seem boring, but real talk if all I had to charge was LK Fuha, Iād be ok with that. I mean, that and fixing her hitboxes for normals and such.
In a dream test scenario, Iād like to see how Juri feels with only LK Fuha and V-Skill being charges, so you dont have to spend the whole match trying to get MK and HK Fuha just to get decent damage. Think about it; you always have the combo ability, so that solves that problem, so all your CCs hurt, and all your V-Trigger starters and corner combos are strong. LK Fuha being chargeable but still -2 seems fair. So really, I donāt think MK and HK Fuha need to be more safe or whatever (Iād like HK Fuha to be 90 damage though, and V-Skill appear charged on-screen). I dunno, just an idea.
