His oki is trash and gives juri more chances than she usually gets.
Might be a bit early to say exactly what goes on in that matchup. Specifically because Abigail has a lot of tools for a big body/grappler character. I think like most matchups where Juri can play from a range, sheāll probably have solid options to keep him at a range and charge V Skill. Matches where she gets lots of opportunities to charge V Skill are generally even or in her favor. Once thatās charged thereās a lot the opponent canāt do safely anymore and Abigail doesnāt seem to have anything particularly great at punishing ranged V Skill charges.
Matchup has felt pretty even to me. Juri gets to run and stuff but if she gets her charged v skill blocked then sheās getting dropped like a ton of bricks. Abby gets a 310 damage punish on her blocked v skill for free:
Cr.hp xx ex flip, H rapid punch juggle. Itās 496 with super from a regular cr.hp xx h rapid punch. Thatās outside v trigger.
In v trigger the first combo does 354,
And the second one does 559.
I approach this matchup slow. Try to walk her into a corner and then get loose. If she v skills out and I block it thatās her ass so she will have to actually fight with pokes and stuff.
Still a very annoying matchup if I try to play it fast because then she just gets free v skills out and itās like chasing her back and forth from corner to corner forever.
So far I had no problems against early Abigails seems like he wants to be close but a lot of his stuff long reach so he pokes you but canāt get in.
Also I bought Nostalgia costume, first time I fork money for a costume outside of season pass. I am happy with it, but I need to remember to remove jacket and I forget a lot
For some reason iām having issues getting crush counter into vskill charge cancel into dash target combo,any tip for it or do i just need to be faster ?
Why would you want to do all that? Just dash afterwards from whichever crush counter. Cr.hp(CC) dash st.mp, back hp into whatever. I try to get max damage or good corner carry with ex fuhajin.
We do it for the mere swag!
You canāt charge a lvl2 v-skill in time after a CC and still combo with a normal.
CC cr.hp xx vskill(hold), dash, something a TON of players did when Juri was first released gave no added benefit at all as you canāt charge to lvl2 and combo afterwards.
literally only have the frames to do dash into standing strong after crouching fierce CC and only dash into jab after roundhouse CC as far as I know.
On another topic I changed my voice setting for Juri to JP and I feel stronger.
My left hand is still in shambles. I am failing to do a ryodensatsu combo ender when I am on the right side and letās not even consider canceling CA off l. Tensenrin, I couldnāt do that reliably with a sane hand, now is a nightmare; I literally say a pain infused Fuck every time I tryā¦ DAMN YOU MUSCLE MEMORY
Pardon the noob question, but since you were talking about that in the lounge thread, how exactly do you space her LK fireball to make it plus on block?
donāt use it at point blank range
space yourself with a blockstring, to get + frames you need to be around cr.mkās max range. I use cr.mk because it doesnāt move Juri forward when you cancel from it.
Iāve seen gentlemanthief do crLP>stLP>stLK xx LP tensenrin >>>crMK xx LK release. If you dash forward youāre +, and if the fireball hits you can land stMP. Also after EX fuha OS on no recovery wake up whiff stMP xx fireball, it should hit on its last frame as well.

Try other characters, are you sure the anger comes from playing Juri and youāre not just angry at yourself for not being good enough at the game?
To me itās the contrary, I try to play other charcaters but I always go back to Juri since Idonāt find the rest of the cast to be as fun as her to play

Itās a complex feeling tbh. Thing about Juri is, sheās so fun to play as, and like others have said, no other character feels as fun or satisfying in SFV. Even recently; after making the new costume vid, I decided to practice against CPU Abigail to see what heās like. Playing reminded me why Juri is so fun! But the issue is that, honestly, the CPU at highest level often plays more fair and fun than even real people. Sure it reads your inputs and punishes even the smallest mistakes, but thatās just it; it plays footsies, punishes jumps, respects pressure. Real SFV play is shimmies, and side-to-side switches, and 50-50s on wakeup. And really, thatās what finally wore me down and made me enjoy SFV less. Cause on top of feeling the pain of Juriās limitations, the annoying, overly aggressive, and frustrating way people play the game bothered me too.
My last set was against a Kolin, and getting CCād from half screen while trying to play footsies, and dealing with her oki setups with little defensive options, it was the ālast strawā. Cause even when Kolin, another ālow tierā character, can just walk all over Juri and āplay SFVā as annoying as possible, it gets you down. For a brief time, when I switched to playing Mika properly, I wasnāt feeling as oppressed. When i fought people, they were actually quite wary of Mika cause they know what sheās capable of. And winning with her is much easier AND fun. But at the end of the day, sheās not Juri, and she canāt reconcile the frustrating nature of the game anyway. So for me personally, iād love Juri to change and/or the game to just feel better as well. Cause right now, playing Juri online or even offline, with the current meta, is just not great. People can say I suck or that I gave up or whatever they want, but my channel is proof that I tried. I really did tryā¦
As for yourself, I recommend taking a look at what you actually like about Juri or SFV, and try to take it less seriously. Cause right now, Juri is what she is, and we can either accept that or not play the game.
