Yeah I guess it will give me a reason to dust off the PS4. Its been nice having a decent PC. Itās the first time Iāve had one since the Unreal Tournament and Quake days. Speaking of Quake, I missed so much of the SFV Beta because of the Quake Champions beta. That game is so much fun.
Sorry for beating a dead horse but I noticed something hilarious when checking some costume colours on the Japanese SFV site. Pay attention to Juri at the top and her small icon at the bottom:
You mean the censoring ?. Tbh i donāt mind her current default, but i do wonder why they even bothered to censor her cleavage when in this game you have characters like Cammy ,Mika and Laura that show their ass and boobs 24/7.
Oh well,itās the least of her problems in this game.
Yeah, Iām done with it as well. But seeing an official picture of a non-censored model on their own site pretty much confirms it was a last-minute decision. It also explains why most of her standard colours are god-awful.
Was trying out ed during the beta didnāt like him as a character for me. Instead used the time to learn Kolin. Kolin helps with the likes of rashid and bison. Two characters I absolutely hate playing. A lot of others matchups always feel even-ish.
hello everyone, as a beginner to Juri and SFV in general i find the sheer amount of learning material a bit overwhelming, could you please suggest me where to begin in order to learn her properly? Like what si the first thing a newbie should learn about Juri?
ThRedGambit on youtube has god some very good stuff for beginners, then as you might have notice reading this thread JusticeSoulTuna has a lot of tech videos on Juri
Now that Iām thinking about it, however, a lot of my videos assume that people have prior Juri/SFV knowledge. I should look into that. Hereās the playlist anyway:
Actually thatās some of the stuff I was looking for, make one one frametraps, I went from Laura to Juri and the main thing I realized is I had no problem getting in close with Laura thanks to s.MK, light elbow and canceling normals into forward v-skill, but with Juri I donāt know how to get close, it feels like evrything I do puts the enemy at more distance.
My abysmal knowledge of the game tells me that frametraps are what I should be doing.
Iāve already suscribed to Marlon, JusticeSoulTuna and Moom4n youtube channels and thatās exactly what i was talking about when i wrote about the āoverwhelming stuffā. I just donāt know where to start.
Iām silver so I know at least the very basics like ādonāt mash DP on wake upā but like ZioSerpe i donāt know how to get close to my opponent, how to break trhough their defence or how tu use her charges effectively.
Interesting point, as I never really had trouble getting close with Juri. st.HK moves you forward and is safe from the right distance, her fireball can give her cover while approaching and her dash/walkspeed are pretty good.
And if nothing else works, just start storing Fuhajins from a safe distance because the opponent will usually come to you then.
Juri doesnāt really just āwalk upā or get close without substantial effort.
When learning a character itās very specific to you, guides will only help you cookie cutter out how to play. You need to create an independent character plan, itās why you can have two world class players on the same character but neither play alike.
Letās say you have trouble getting in - her best tool to allow approaches would be LK fuha, so letās use that as a basis for your plan. Where do you want to throw LK fuha? At a range where the opponent canāt react in time with a jump, and somewhere we can poke into it. Cr.mk and st.mk are both great midrange buttons that control space(St.mk) and can set up LK fuha pressure or be hit confirmed from(cr.mk). What will the opponent do in reaction to this? Theyāll attempt jumps to get over the LK fuha - letās always be ready to St.hp xx charge or MP.DP against those jumps. Theyāll try to outpoke your normals - letās be ready to counterpoke with cr.mp buffer xx mk.ryo. Letās say your LK fuha is blocked from range and youāre +, what to do now? Letās apply some pressure, St.mp is her best button for pressure along with St.lp, so letās mix these buttons in and be ready to hit confirm St.mp > St.mk xx LK.pinwheel/MK.ryo, and St.lp > St.lk xx LK pinwheel. If the opponent is blocking a lot, letās throw them. If theyāre delay teaching to avoid your tick throws, letās shimmy them into St.hp xx ender.
Thereās also a sub-level of a gameplan in which stores you need to prioritise in match-ups, because lacking a store in specific situations can deny you huge meterless damage or a safe ender.
Guides can only help you so much, you need independent time in training to string together a gameplan and Marlonās and others videos will give your gameplan more depth. Itās all a time thing and having good fundamentals to put together a plan.
