I’m not a fan of using b.hk as an anti-air, felt unreliable. There is this very specific and tricky window you have to press it to make it work, and even then it’ll trade at best. If it however does hit clean as an AA that is GREAT though. One of the situations i used b.hk as an AA was against not perfectly spaced crossup attacks, situations where you might use st.lp whenever people jumped over you.
Omg really? Gen 4 was like my fav. I thoroughly enjoyed it as a follow up to gen 3 before everything got really crazy and power creep went everywhere. The only poke from that gen that i hated was garchomp. It was also the only generation where I got almost every pokemon myself. After that the game got a little tiresome although I still play the new ones. I’m just ready for an updated version of those games.
Some real Gen 4 love here, eh? Admittedly, Platinum was a great game. Wasn’t a big fan of Diamond and Pearl. There are things are about Gen 4 that I really do enjoy, though. Like how it’s the only Gen where I like the final evolutions for all three start Pokemon.
Garchomp is a mon I’ll always hate. Well, so long as it stays viable. It overshadows Flygon and I love that weird dragon so much. Gen V is forever the best. And not just because I could use Scrafty in competitive play without Fairy types bodying it.
I remember seeing a video of some strong juggles after bhk AA
@Lion_Jak GGs last night. You were pretty solid. I definitely have to learn some of your strings and pressure. A lot of stuff I tried to press against but definitely got counter hit from. That’s where I need to brush up with her is optimal strings to keep people locked down as long as possible and keep recharging stores.
As far as critiquing goes, your AA game was really on point so don’t really need to worry about that. It was only really when I used Ibuki with her kunais and command dash hop that I was able to get any real jumping on you. Main things to work on though is just to panic a little bit less on defense. There were definitely some moments you could have stayed in the game or I was just casually walking up to you on wake up and you had to blow your EX DP or hit out a light attacks. The light attacks are lower risk at least, but eventually once people get their meaties right you’re going to have to choose carefully when to press lights or take big counter hits/CC’s.
Also, I think those really extended V Trigger carry combos that end with 2 HK fireballs into EX uppercut are a waste of meter. Unless the EX uppercut is going to stun just save the meter. The damage and stun scale so much after the 2 fireballs that it’s not worth the waste of meter that you could use for defense, getting through a fireball or add to your next combo.
I found it interesting that you always V Reversaled my EX fireball. I guess you don’t like dealing with the minus 2 mix up.
It’s mostly for the corner carry. There’s a lot of damage potential with the v-trigger when you can time your trigger to be effective with two combos maybe 3 combos. The already depreciating vtrigger plus fuhajin and chained normals. Its a lot. If you’re not in the corner after I confirm it. Then I feel It’s wasted. That’s just me. No excuse either just how i feel about her v-trigger. Bypass the neutral with her dash and scare people. That’s fun.
Confirming even one hit is an even stronger way to use her v-trigger. Confirming links is even better. I figure if corner carry and maybe another combo before stun wears down then I’ve probably already won.
I had fun. I wish I could really critique on ibuki. I haven’t played her much since juri came out or even s2 came around. Idk anything optimal. Don’t second guess and drop combos. Git gud. Jk I had fun. The game is nothing but setup fighter to me and it’s just getting used to new things people throw at you. When to block and what not. I think playing ibuki gives me a better reaction time to her bull.
I’m a juri fanatic and got some skills to back her up so I want to just learn what I can do to make myself better. So it’s much appreciated. :#
LOL Ibuki is cheese in every game. She’s a ninja so she has to be cheese. There’s no fair ninja characters. She has solid enough neutral though and they gave her good walk speed again which is all I really wanted.
Yeah the corner carry seems solid for those fireball combos, just wondering if the EX uppercut actually adds to the carry or if it’s just a waste of meter at that point as it seems to be. Your Juri stuff overall is good though and it’s just some small panic habits you had that I saw more than anything. I prefer setup fighter to vortex fighter as setup is more familiar from 3S than stuff where you’re just completely locked down guessing 50/50 for cross on HKD’s.
I was able to confirm the changes to Juri’s ‘Tensenrin’ (uppercut motion) special moves. Now, each have become reliable as a specific counter to either throws, attacks, or jump-in attacks. I particularly highlight her MP Tensenrin, and how it is now her most reliable anti-air ability.
As an addendum, I must point out that the evidence for HP DP beating meaties is still inconclusive. In our tests, it seemed to beat multiple meaties, and it only got stuffed if I didn’t input it in time. However, until the official patch is out, we must take this as provisional information. But the main takeaway of the video is simply that MP DP works properly now, and even HP DP can anti-air when done right.
Playing some umvc3 strider again made me realize where they went wrong with Juri. His command to summon his orb is pretty similar to Juri’s charges. Only the having the orb up was such a huge benefit compared to her mk/hk charges. They really need to make all of her charges worth the risk to get them.
If anyone is good to great with Juri please inbox me or just send me a PSN message.
My PSN is BV_ZeroCool and I play Akuma. Just looking for some MU experience against her. Shout outs to GentlemanThief and Rammel if they post here. Two best Juri I have fought.
There was a rumor circulating with the previous beta that Capcom forgot to actually implement the invincibility change on her MP DP, so it still gets stuffed.
I dunno if that’s what you were running into or not though, assuming you mean it still gets stuffed during start-up. Frame Trapped doesn’t work with the beta so I can’t check :bluu:
I would normally agree, but they keep on giving her new costumes. So that theory falls short. They only remember about her when they need to squeeze some money out of her fans. I honestly feel guilty buying all her costumes, but shit…i just want them.
To your point, I can confirm that during my tests for the video, there was one moment when it got stuffed. But it didn’t make much sense tbh. As shown in the video, the MP DP hits early and late, so it’s genuinely consistent. When it got stuffed, I recall it looking very strange and it said ‘counter-hit’. One thing that I will need to do, when the official patch is released, is test it against multiple jump-ins including Cammy’s canon strike, divekicks, Chun-Li jump in with V-Trigger active, etc. Cause I do think MP DP (and all her DPs) is genuinely better, but I do admit that there is still that little bit left to be worried about, haha.
NieR Automata is fantastic. Its only downside to me was coming out too close to Persona 5 because P5 is…well, the best. Both games also have 10/10 OSTs if you guys pay attention to those kinds of things.
I was going to get NieR on PC, but I heard it’s a pretty bad PC port. I’m really excited that Vanquish is coming to PC on the 25th, so I think I’ll get that instead.
