I am still confused as what they did to juri. And hey, if she ends up being more powerful, great…however, it feels like they basically made a new female character, and slapped the body and name of juri on her. IMO…from what I gather, the only things they kept for Juri was her fireball store, overhead, and Cr.Hp. with the FSE…everything else was changed…And I played Ibuki today, and she feels not just the same, but way better. That’s an example of a character upgrade done right. Many tools, and still keeps her trademark way of playing…She still has a vortex in many ways

I’m ain’t buying that Juri sucks. I remember when people said how much Ryu, Ken and Mika sucked and look how wrong that ended up being.

I think there’s a difference though, by now we have a decent idea of what works in the game and what doesn’t. I don’t think it’s fair to say she outright sucks, because FSE will probably be a good V-Trigger, but I definitely see her as inferior to the other DLC characters so far. She doesn’t have a good V-Skill, doesn’t have great pokes outside of St.MK, has very situational damage, etc. Still early though, keep in mind we’re essentially playing the beta version of her.

Has anyone been able to make any of her buttons hit meaty enough to combo into heavies? Something like Throw/Sweep -> Meaty St.MP -> Cr.HP -> MK Fuha -> Cr.MK -> EX Fuha would be pretty nice to have.

People know how the game works universally, not so for characters. People thought alex was gona be bad. People thought guile was in need of a nerf because Vt corner combos. And yet…here we are…

She doesn’t sucks. She is just a completely different character. They should have kept some things the same.

Thats the biggest issue I’m having with her. I’m cool with and encourage characters getting new moves or elements to their gameplay, but why bring back a char if your going to change they’re playstyle completely? You wouldn’t make gief a rekka character with only a hit-grab. Fireball store and release was a large part of Juri’s playstyle, and made her unique. As much as people love shitting on SF4, right now there seems to be more variance in SF4 mirror matches then between individual cast members in 5. It seems like almost all of her tools have been nerfed except pinwheel maybe acting like a dp. Yes I understand she’s not finished but a lot this shit seems like this is her planned direction. Hell even her rushdown in 4 seemed better, since you could chain into/out of overhead in FSE. Also doubt that her overhead looking specials will be overheads on her release.

I’m loving Juri personally.
I need to replay her sections to get more time with her.
I do wish they kept the button holding, I look forward to seeing some more enough on her.

To early to call her terribad. Especially when you are questioning what her frame data even is. If her stores are still + on block she will have good pressure. She might have meaty overhead combo’s or something liket that also in FSE.

Her f. HK also looks to crush lows. If people can’t low profile it, it will be a solid move also. People should hold back their pitchforks a bit. Every character has been pretty different, Juri always had some cool frame traps and it looks like she still has good fireball recovery so way to early to call shit yet.

Yeah, I’m not sure what to think. I think I agree with the fact that it seems like a new fighter with Juri’s skin, with only slight remnants of her old moveset. I’m also sad that fireball storing via button hold is done. That was my favorite part about her gameplay. And she was perfect in SFxT.

That all being said, Juri’s my favorite character. So I’ll be maining her regardless. :slight_smile: Also, let’s see what she looks like on release.

her new stored specials are literally the same ones as omega mode usf4 juri. the store is same as sf4/sfxt (not like omega mode). her upwards pinwheel is also from omega mode, now it is a dp motion and ppl told me the mk one is a true dp.

you can link sLK off sMP , bHK, crHP. sLK goes into LKdp and HKrelease. HKrelease 1st hit vtc into sHP qcfMK crMP into whatever ender you want.

you can store the charge of her vskill. lets her combo into a lv2 to build vmeter. also helps her win fireball wars.

I’m almost entirely certain Juri didnt have a different pinwheel in Omega.

Nah, I mentioned earlier it seems invincible after startup, but it gets beat by meaties. Though, I’m basing this off the Juri training mode mod with bugged infinite v-trigger.

My impression and analysis so far
Juri got some good stuffs but she feels really incompleted, she needs a lot more polish to be honest she doesnt feel right.

Moves she needs back from SF4
*cr.mk (better range, better animation and low profile)
*Nj.hk (Great tool overall)
*j.hp (great to punish DP mashers)

Moves she needs to be improved
*cr.hp (more active frames to work as AA) or change it for her SF4 cr.hp
*f.mk (needs to be combo able from FSE)
*Target combo (fix it since it wiffs on crouched oponents)

V-system
***Improve FSE **(allow normals to be canceled faster and into command normals aswell)
*Improve V-Skill (make it more versatil)

Aesthetics
*Effects MUST add her pink/purple color effects
*CA Improve its animation or add Flashier version in FSE
***Idle animation **was way better in SF4 hope they change it back
*cr.hp from SF4 had better animation and better active frames I would love to have it back

I actually have one good thing to say about Juri’s buttons in this game.
