What I don’t like is that her normals have been nerfed into fucking oblivion.

Pinwheel is now a SRK input even though it’s not a DP.
Her fireball is complete dog shit.
Store mechanic is simplified.
Only one fireball and not 3 anymore.
Her Pinwheels whiffs A LOT during links.
Her Fuhajin store animation has a really bad hitbox lengthways. (Maybe intentional)
Double sided jump.HK is gone. (FUCK SAKE MAN!!!)
Mp > Hp target combo only works on standing opponents
No mediums into heavys
Too much recovery on the HK ‘Fuhajin’ special on hit.
Now on to the good things about her…
Air throw
Walk speed (Definitely getting nerfed lol)
Anti-Air Senpusha (Kreygasm)
She can store new specials with qcf+k and use them in combos
B+hk now links into lk.
Feng Shui Engine classic normals-into-normals and no need to ‘Fuhajin’ her new specials.
Fuhajin is a good anti-air.
That’s all for now I guess. At first I didn’t like the new Juri, but when I adapted to the new Juri I was actually having loads of fun. Really like her new ‘Fuhajin’ specials and her flashy animations. Can’t really go in depth with FSE since it takes forever for Rashid to hit me and build v meter but it’s looking good, I’ll go into it more when she’s avaliable in training mode.
Overall she needs her normals buffed, damage duffed a little, fireball range BUFFED, walk speed nerfed.Oh and I expect her Pinwheel to be changed to qcb command and her new Ryodansatsu (the movenwhere she does the splits) to be SRK command when she’s ready.
I agree with cr.mk and neutral jump hk, and yes s.hp was awfull but it had great animation and with a little tweak it could be really awesome as AA and target combo which is probably how it is intended to work this time around but cl.st.hp can be easily replaced with fuhajin store or dp pinwheel to juggle after j.mp
Well,now that the hype is wearing out i see that people have started to share my concerns regarding Juri.
Gameplay - we expected change, but they changed her quite a lot.Did she really needed that ? I would say no, because she was really unique in the SF 4 roster,nobody played similar. I am pretty sure they thought she is under utilized because how her store mechanics worked,but that was one of her biggest charms,to me at least. Her normals have also been changed for the worst,gone are the anti air properties of some moves and so on …
Story - to make it worst,did you guys actually saw Juri in her prologue and the main story ? In her prologue she gets owned by Bison and Viper talks to her on a bossy tone,actually threatening her with jail. This is Juri btw, the powerhouse from SF4,reduced to a “don’t worry i’ll be back” type of villain.
Visuals : she does look good though,however a kick in the nuts for me is the fact that she lacks her default from SF4. A truly unique costume that set her apart.
Overall , sry but i dislike most of her changes.I am fully aware that things will change,because Capcom did say she is unfinished. But the core of her gameplay is here to stay,most likely what will change is frame data since i really doubt they will change her storing mechanic to be as it was in SF 4 or add new special moves to her list.
PS : I consider myself a Juri fan, but when i enjoy playing as Urien more then Juri in the short story scenes i got to play, then you know something is wrong.

@Skort I disliked Juri in the beginning too. But I’m actually starting to like her now but those normals have to be fixed. And even more so with her piece of shit fireball.
As story goes, I was also kinda salty how bullied she got in HER OWN prologue. She didn’t win a single fight smh…

Juri got owned by Bison this time no doubts but unlike the last time the fought Bison was buffed by the moons and Juri’s eye probably needed some mantainance since I dont remember it being green, about C.Viper I think she was able to talk like that to Juri because she lost her eye.
Wow, they completely changed her. I guess they wanted to rework the entire character similar to what they did with Nash. She doesn’t seem to play anything like a zoner anymore. She plays like Tanya from Mortal Kombat.
i’ve been mulling over how i feel about this character, and i have two frames of thought.
if i have the frame of thought “i wanted as much of the sf4 character as possible to be ported over cause i was good with that character”(which i pretty much had up until last night) i’m fucking pissed cause about 80% of it is long gone…i’m really disapointed in the direction they took w her gameplay, it seems still kinda far fetched how they tore a basically new character down from the ground up after most of her stuff in sf4 and xt was her signature stuff its like i read someone in GD say…you dont give ryu a command grab…its different for characters like mika or nash, that are being revived from 20 yr old gms, but we are fresh off playing juri in her old form in the two games directly adjacent to the current one…too soon
but if i have the mindset of “ok, i get it, this is sf5, not sf4, “that” character is in that game, lets see what this one can do” i’m optimistic, but even in that optimism, i’m concerned, cause this version of “this” juri needs a lil work still from a fundamental standpoint, but we know that, so i’ll see…i’m ok with accepting this version of her specials and normals if the game plan, set ups, oki and whatnot evolve into something fun…i kinda refuse to touch her as is right now, i’ve only played story mode once…i’m reading early tech ppl are posting, and it seems good i might try some eventually playing against brain dead rashid is kinda frstrating…, so, i’m just waiting
Fourtunately Im loving Karin and Chun, if in the end I dont like Juri I will switch to Karin as main and Chun as secondary and never look back.
I know Juri is not finished yet and I like a lot of the changes but the stuff we have been mentioned early must be addressed if they want to preserve Juri’s essence so far Im not feeling the Juri I felt in love with.
I think I’m a happy person. I lived Jury as a character but hated SF4 mechanics, in SF5, for me, Juri feels right mostly because I don’t have any strong bounds to how she played before.
But I have to agree that her move set still needs work
I really don’t see capcom changing any of her specials back, even if most the Juri fans start spamming them with the angry mob tech. New animations + plus all of the the testing required would cost too much time and resources, let alone on a larger scale they have bigger issues they still need to address. The main thing I loved about Juri was her playstyle and how it matched her personality, and even though I think capcom did a great job with her animations and parts of her new costume, I hate how they shoe-horned her moveset into this shitty design philosophy of theirs. I hope those of yall that like her changes have fun with her and she turns out to be a beast whenever they get around to releasing her, but I’m done with this game unless they make some huge changes to her and the games mechanics as a whole.
Which pisses me off since I bought this game based on the promise that Juri would be in it. Well at least I still have F.A.N.G…
And btw, “she’s still unfinished” doesn’t hold much weight… She’s 1-2 months away from release, there’s no way they’ll add something as work-intensive and bug-inducing as a new skill, so we can say goodbye to dive kick and counter… They’ll tweak her frame data and damage, maybe hitboxes and pushback if they can be arsed, and that’s pretty much it.
