We have a lot of strong players guys. If your new to the scene don’t feel intimidated about showing up, you’ll find that a lot of us are really chill just shit gets misinterpreted online.
I think we have the potential to be the strongest city in Tx in MvC, AE, BB and MK because we have competent people playing. We just have to support each other. Funny thing is I read a lot of negative things in this thread but when we are all together I don’t really get a negative vibe outside of 1 or 2 people. Are scene is unifying, people speaking about how we need to drop the cliques aren’t paying attention. We are already doing that. We are becoming “Houston” again, not PZ, Monsters, or Smiley’s. We just have to respect the other places where people play and above all else just get a long with each other. And I honestly see us going in that direction.
Remember that since this is an open forum your opinions can shape other peoples perceptions of our scene. Speak with some responsibility if speaking seriously. Trolling on the other hand (DAVID)!!! lol
What’s up guys! Haven’t been on here on a while. Went to San Antonio for a small mk9 tourney. I was the only out of towner lol got 2nd place. Need more practice against some reptiles! Also went to Austin yesterday to play fubar at UFO. I sent kensou and Jim a message for y’all to roll with me but none replied :/.
Anyways… Where the meets at here? Haven’t heard anything or probably haven’t been paying attention. Since ae is almost out are you guys having a meet for it? To play some casuals? As well as other fighters as well. Need to level up in mvc3 really bad. I been working a lot lately. But this Monday hopefully I should be off as well as thur and Friday. Having friends over next Friday for gaming night. They are casual players so don’t expect much from them. Any if y’all are invited as well just hit me up for info.

Sup sonicboom, It has been too long man. Sounds great to me since I am in South Houston too. I think it would be great to have a place to game on this end of town for people like me. Personally, I am just looking forward to playing people in the newer games like mvc3, mk9, and AE. I love mvc2 and cvs2, but it seems like the newer games still draw in the most people.
About how much room do you think you will have? Would you be down to host weeklies like Cmutt used to do without worrying about extra fees etc.? PM me so we can get this going, I know a lot of people are hurting for EVO practice. Having a spot to play daily would be great again so we can build up team Houston.
Also if anyone is down for games this weekend, pref evenings, then post up.
I really don’t think another arcade is gonna run Monsters out of business, after all, they don’t rely on the arcade games to make the money since the card games there make waaay more than anything else. I guess you could still talk to Dre anyway though.
The first page of this thread pretty much has all of the info you need!
Welcome back, and congratz on the tourney placement!
Monster’s probably is doing something for AE’s console release, but I don’t know. You’d probably have to ask Dre (-Tetsuo-) about it.
Ha, I live in the woodlands, dude. I’ll be here all summer and I live in West Isle off of East Panther Creek. I’d be down to play pretty much anytime (unemployed lol, but hopefully I find a job soon, and no classes this summer). I play mainly SF4 and am currently learning 3rd strike. I hate MvC3, but if you REALLY want to play it I’ll oblige.
@DukAmok Yeah i been to monster’s a few time but my work schedule( I work retail) and money being tight right now makes it hard for me to go as much as I like. I’ll send you and Bman my contact info and see if you can’t get us a offline session going some time soon.
Yeah I can see where you’re coming from, money is definitely tight nowadays. I’ll be sure and try to get a session offline cause I’m always looking for practice outside of Tuesday nights. And of course, there’s always online
We should also get a big lobby going for Houston players someday online.
