The comment about the soundtrack was just in response to you saying the game “sounded bad” which is wrong.
I don’t get how you can enjoy clunky controls, awful camera angles and poor levels as well as boss designs.

If the controls were as unmanageable as you say they are then it wouldn’t be feasible to progress in the game. I’ve never found them to be a problem in any way, so I think you might just have a negative bias.

I’ll always prefer sonic’s movement from SA2 over the slippery racecar boost to win movement from the newer 3d games. Whenever you stop boosting, sonic feels super weird and difficult to control correctly. In SA2, I feel much more in control of his movement tbh.

edit: I also really really don’t like the 3d-2d shifts. It’s dorky and really shouldn’t exist. If I wanted to play platforming 2d sonic, I’d play a 2d sonic game. I don’t want some strange hybrid that forces you to play slow platforming sections randomly mixed in the middle of racecar stages.
I don’t know what’s worse, liking Sonic Adventure past the shamu sequence, or being a fucking neckbeard because people like Sonic Adventure.

Everything else is not really worth buying until you play it for yourself, try it, and shape your own opinion of it. Emulate if you can. I have played 95% of all sonic games, minus “SONIC TEACHES MATH ON WINDOWS CE” bullshit. Never played Sonic 06 and never will.
Sonic Lost World is game you’d probably wait for to get on sale too. Decent but the weakest game on the list. The 3DS port is alright, but the WiiU game is the better of the two. Sonic Generations on 3DS is NOTHING LIKE THE MAIN GAME.
The mobile Sonic 2 game let’s you play two cut levels from Sonic 2. It’s pretty awesome. Someone on a SEGA site is trying to reflash Sonic 2 carts to add that content in, but that shit looks impossible. the Simon Wai Prototype should be used as a base, but dude isn’t listening.

How was the Bioware RPG? I recently saw it at a local pawn shop and wondered if it was any good.

I’ve always preferred Sonic without “rails”. Basically meaning that I’ll take a glitch here or there for more freedom and more control over the character. Any more restrictions and I feel like I’m playing FFXIII.
Ended on a massive cliffhanger that will obviously never be followed up on.
If these two tracks aren’t enough to dissuade you from trying it…go for it I guess.
It’s not a rhythm game so the soundtrack won’t be a deal breaker but holy shit is that music awful.

Yes, I said that shit. O-ver-rated. It ain’t a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s just a 1-zone-longer Sonic 1 with a goofy mechanic that boils down to:
Yeah… Sonic CD is an alright game, but pales in comparison to 2 and 3&K. I want to say 3&K is the greatest of them all, but with an exception that Sonic 2 has the better bonus stages by far. The half-pipe was way more enjoyable than that horrible-to-control mini-world ball-touching shit.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles - Great game but a lot of the levels just dragged on. Sonic 2 I can say I’m in love with every single level in the game but with S3&K theres more than a few I would skip if given the choice. Its a shame cause Hydrocity Zone is amazing.
Sonic 1- Also a good game but there have been improvements since.
Sonic Adventure - A lot of nostalgia but still a pretty fun game regardless.

Sonic After the Sequel - An amazing fan game with tons of new levels and great music.
Sonic Generations- Combines some of the best thing about sonic games although classic sonic still feels a bit off.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Probably needs no explanation. I will add though I did a count the other day of how many copies of sonic 2 I actually own and I am currently at 8. I think I may have a problem.
Sonic 06 - This one however I’m sure needs a lot of explanation. I think the best way I can describe how I can love a game as shitty as this is it so shitty it goes full circle and becomes a great game in the right light. Once a month our school has the a video game night so I had the awesome idea of bringing sonic 06 with me and playing it in the projector room. By the end of the night most of the seats were filled and every one was just passing the controller back and forth. Much fun was had that night. Only thing that could have made that night better were drinks.
