He gave him a hard time once in SA1. Amy is annoying, she won’t take no for an answer it’s either run or be married. It’s a joke but when it counts they team up effectively.
Tails just seems like he’s there to be there. The writers don’t have a clue what to do with him. He barely speaks compared to everyone else.
Man youare passing judment on these characters entire personalities off of sound bites. Sonic rolls his eyes once now hes a total asshole? Your making mountains out of molehills.
I’ve seen other scenes. He’s definitely more modern day snarky hero who’s always right.
Also the shit they say in gameplay is like stuff written by autistic minecraft players so that’s one hell of a disconnect.
Rivals counts? I thought that was more of a licensed product than an actual canon game. Regardless it’s called “rivals” so you have to see that coming.
Rivals counts for several reasons. It’s technically Sliver’s first game meeting the cast since Sonic 06 retconned itself. It also has the canon backstory for Eggman Nega. The game is called Rivals because the entire premise of the game built itself on the 2 player competitive race mode from Sonic 2.
That is what everyone needs to keep in mind. Sonic has a lot of older adult fans, but the LIFEBLOOD of the franchise will be using the cartoony designs and characters to hook the little bastards while they’re young.
I don’t really have a stock in this franchise; I don’t care if this game or show does well or not. But justifying bad writing by saying “it’s just for kids” is the reason why so many terrible kids’ media gets created.
It’s a very slippery slope. On one hand I do have stake in this somehow and I want it to be enjoyable, but on the other hand I wonder if being critical of it will even make a difference when I’m not even the focus for Sega. You have a point, just because it’s for kids, doesn’t mean we should expect less of it. I get the feeling that Sega does have the ability to make it completely enjoyable for all ages, just hire the right writers. But I don’t think they’ll do that, cause the possible fans they could get from making it smarter could just alienate the kids that they want to pull. And they don’t want adolescents, they want snot nosed elementary schoolers, so I imagine it’d be easy to lose them.
