-when you really get down to it, only about 25% of the games levels are actually any good (sonic, SA1 tails,possibly amy,shadow) and the rest are just about passable or awful (knuckles, rouge, SA2 tails, robotnik, E102, Big)
the real reason you will keep playing is to get more stuff in the chao garden and get the special chao.
also im really glad they didnt fix the voices overlapping each other in custscenes like they did in the original. it was annoying as fuck back then and its annoying as fuck now.

SA2 is a guilty pleasure for sure, a lot of mistakes but the things they did get right are gold. Imagine a full 3d Sonic game with the design philosophy of Sonic/Shadow SA2 levels? Generations and Colors where great games but the scripted segments are something they need to do away with.
From what I see from mostā¦it just seems obvious to never make a SA game again since there are a LOT more negatives than positives. Just take some design philosophy from the SA Sonic/Shadow Levels, get rid of boosting, make a game around that. Wouldnāt be a SA game really since thereās none of the extras. Just give it a different name, and done. Not a SA game, but an improvement over what we have now (though, remember Grinding in of itself is essentially a scripted segment too, so I assume that has to be done away with as well).
I like the grinds in some of Sonicās levels. For the most part they are few,short and optional. The space levels and that one shadow level with pure grinding and bumpers I agree is pretty scripted.
it might be triggered by getting the chao key but the guy doesnt really state what he did prior toā¦he got there finishing eggmanās cosmic wall in story modeā¦

Playing in Egg Quarters as Rouge looking for the second key and the detector is beeping above the statue of what I think is a fish. Try digging around its head because I canāt see the key anywhere on the screen, and after about 15 minutes of searching around this statue I realize itās across from it on the upper wall with the painting hanging from it. This would have been much less frustrating and time consuming if the camera wasnāt so shitty. How was I supposed to figure out there was a key were Rouge was facing if the camera is on the opposite sideā¦ If it wasnāt for the exclamation mark hinting I was close I would have never figured out.
I like the idea of the treasure hunting levels with Knuckles/Rouge but the shitty camera and the badly placed emeralds just ruin all the chances of fun.
My nephew was playing on the massive space level with Knuckles and he was there for over a half hour searching for one emerald. I tried to help him find it but that map was just far too big and it wasnāt easy getting around it.
hmmmā¦For Meteor Herd one of the first things I try to do is go to the highest point in the stageā¦more than likely Iāll end up catch a hint as to where 1 or 2 of them are in the process and usually thereās always at least one of those shards WAAAAY up there.
Yeah kind of works for pumpkin hill as well. Meteor Herd is dope with all the gliding and drillclaw to reach lower levels from the sky at a faster rate. Once you get the hang of it you can beat Knuckles levels under 2 minutes with no hints. Maybe if Tails and Robotnik were some how as fast as E-102 I wouldnāt hate em so much.
-The characters had the best voices in history in SA2
-The music is fine, it fits and a lot of them are songs I genuinely enjoy.
-Knucklesā music is. He is not.
I hate that damn Chao bullshit, I wanna run around levels not raise my stupid tamogachi, I felt this way as a kid and it hasnāt changed now, stupid trophies that require it. I 100%ed DX and the worst part was the tedious Chao bullshit. Itās just busywork!
oh man you must be the only guy in the world who actually likes the voices then in this game. holy shit they are so freaking bad. luckily the music drowns it out most of the time unless its amys theme. like holy shit is that ever bad.
i think you maybe took my list a little too personally to then go and disagree with each point individually. it was (kind of) a joke.
also why is it that whenever you want to represent someone as a bad ass in games, just put some shitty rap music playing in the background. the fight night games got real bad for that as well.
clears his throatā¦then raises his hand Iām one of those people who liked Ryan Drummondās Sonic more so than Jason Griffithās. I also liked Mr. Humphreyās Shadow over Griffithās as well. I think the only VA I can say now the only one I hold with higher regard in the current ones (Generationās, Free Riderās) is Tailās current VA. Most of the current VAās I hold at the same level as SA/SA2ās if not slightly lessā¦Theyāre definitely better than 4kids VAās at least imo.
