I understand perfectly well that this new sonic will sell well. It’s hitting all the right spots for that, that someone who doesn’t care can look and say “it’s Sonic” is all they need.
That being said, a lot of people who do like Sonic that aren’t sheep with internet access do not particularly care for Dopey the Hedgehog, Roids the Echidna, Miles “Stereotype” Prower and Edgy Rose.

You and everyone peddling the same exact bullshit sound like children. “Oh no Sonics slightly different from before now hes ruined!!!” Same childish bullshit when he went through the Adventure redesign, and same childish bullshit when people where crying about his green eyes.
I need more gameplay on Sonic Boom before I can pass judgement.
Designs look terrible, imo, but the game could be what Sonic needs to get back in the spotlight.

I’ve already expressed my thoughts on the most of the characters redesigns but we’ve only been shown a small bit of gameplay for the game…which is going to have the most pull on whether this game is gonna be good or not. Regardless of how distracting Knux looks, if they actually make the gameplay great then most will get over it.
I’m not the throwing a fit over small changes to a character when the core designs wasn’t changed. Wanna act like Knux being huge is a design overall in the vein of DmC Dante. Get over yourself
Sonic Boom looks like a Sonic game to me.
Damn I thought the Sonic whiners don’t really exist. I saw some o. Gamefaqs damn near hanging themselves over Sonic Boom but everyone is negative on Gamefaqs. Sonic Boom looks great and Big Knuckes isn’t even a painful design and its its own universe. So if people act like Sonic Boom existence is gonna end the world they can just ignore it

Going from the 90’s to the Adventure designs was a change I really liked. It had it’s own charm and I still like it a lot.

Well it wasn’t done with malice like that one but it was definitely done in a “we know better” kinda way.
It’s not gonna destroy anything and I’m not telling anyone what to do I’m just saying it seems like most people just go with whatever in franchises they like.
Think about it a little more. You don’t need to like everything with the word Sonic on it.
Obviously, we have close to 10 years worth of Sonic content that sucks ass and isn’t worth liking at all and certainly not for silly ass reasons like hes wearing a scarf.
True Sonic has been woozy on quality. I haven’t played the last few sonic games but after adventure 2 the ones I played and thought were garbage were Heroes, Shadows game(if it counts) and that Brotherhood game on ds. Shit was awful. But it seems this gen only solid Sonics were generations and colors.
So I mean the fanbase does have a right to whine. But somestimes it just over the top. But I do think Sonic Boom looks very promising and will be a solid 3d sonic games
Don’t make me out to be a Sonic stan. There’s plenty of Sonic stuff I hate (Sonic 06, Sonic 4, Archie’s Sonic Comic, the last two Sonic animated adaptions). I genuinely like the design changes from Boom. Even if I didn’t like them I’m not going to act like the sky is falling because Sonic as a scarf now.
Personally I’m looking forward to the TV show more so than the game. I don’t own a Wii U and nothing been revealed about the 3DS version. Sonic is long overdue for a good animated series
@Hawkingbird Since you seem like a knowledgeable Sonic fan, can you explain why Sonic X is so hated? Mind you when I was watching it I was a kid and didn’t really I guess critique shows, I just saw it as a Sonic cartoon.
Since Hulu had the uncut version up I was gonna rewatch it very soon to see if my opinion would change since I never watched it start to end
From what I recall, Sonic X was hated because it focused too much on the human characters. It was bad enough that their were human characters to began with but Chris received a lot of focus. Series centered more around him than Sonic himself. I quit the series halfway through the Chaos Emerald arc. I couldn’t stand how the show kept shoehorning that kid into the plots.
Yea, it was like those Transformers Cartoons where the kids teamed up with the Transformers got more shine then the robots did when really everyone wanted to just see the robots beat each other up an shit. Same deal with Sonic X. We where all there for Sonic and crew yet somehow they got less screen time then everyone else. Still it;s not terrible, it’s pretty decent in fact if you watch it subbed (4Kid dub bleh) but still your enjoyment will be deterimed based on how much you like end up liking Chris and his friends and if Sonic and his friends being kind of back burnered bothers you a lot or not.
Ah if thats the main reason then I understand. I didn’t mind them being in “our world” but I really didn’t like Chris much as well. He was kinda pointless and what I do remember is that he was sboehorned into shit that is obviously meant to be for Sonic and Co.
I will give it another shot, I needed an intelligent opinion because when I look elsewhere I see Chris complaints which is understandable, complaints about just the dub and of course the “AHH OMG SONIC X RUINED SONIC FOREVER” type of shit
I quit Sonic X before it got it to adapt the stories of SA and SA2. I’m curious to see how well the show adapted those games but I dread how they changed it to fit Chris in.
I heard the last season had like 4 arcs and it was only 26 eps. So im not to sure how that worked out, and I believe 2 of those arcs were the Adventure games lol
