The Sonic the hedgehog thread V.3-2012 Sonic 4: Episode 2

Yeah, but the Metal Sonic that we see in modern Sonic games is the one from Sonic CD, so I just assumed that that one was the final version.

As far as who is the most powerful robot Sonic, it goes in this order.
Metal Sonic > Mecha Sonic > Silver Sonic

I do have to say though, Mecha Sonic going super in Knuckles storyline was so awesome.

This man is insane.

i been having this theroy going on in my head that the sonic from the older titles is the younger version of sonic while the older moderen version is his teenage/adult self. its a lil dumb thought but i like to think that when i hear about the timelines and stuff.

im at like 201 of the archie comics…they need to make this shit in the video games or make another damn cartoon based on it

I always thought that was a no brainer.

That’s pretty much the premise of Sonic Generations. I’m anxious to see if they continue to use young/classic Sonic in anything else. Probably not a main game, but at least in all the guaranteed spinoffs Sonic has his hands in. I wonder if he’ll become Sega’s “young Link.”

Back on the timeline discussion I think it’s safe to say that CD happens before 2 since 3 takes place pretty much immediately after 2 ends. My memory is rusty on the exact dialogues in Sonic Adventure 1, but didn’t they seem surprised when Eggman returned as if he had gone missing after the Death Egg incident?

It just seems like the perfect time for him to change to the modern Eggman body rather than after CD. When he’s defeated in CD he just gets exposed to the usual type of explosions he’s used to at that point, whereas plummeting through the atmosphere in an exploding Death Egg Robot seems more life threatening.

Just wondering, anyone else besides me assume that Eggman in Sonic Adventure 1 came back in a new body rather than just growing older? </nerd>

This isn’t Generations but I’m just gonna leave this here for you. You should check out the YT pages that belongs to this guy and the one who did that Green Hill run if you haven’t already.

I don’t really like these kinds of speed runs, they don’t feel…legit to me. Even still, seen no one do this yet and thought it was kinda cool.

Yeah, I agree. It’s like they aren’t actually playing the stage.
Is neat though.

Thanks for clearing it up guys =)

Sorry for the late reply, I needed to go back and read issues featuring Finitevus. Put simply he wants to cleanse the world since he sees it corrupt and in chaos, and wants to see a new better world its place. …and he’ll do ANYTHING to achieve his goals.
In the comics, he uses warp rings to travel around and deal with his enemies-

Will write about Mogul later, but Archie recently released a new TPB collecting 4 stories starring Shadow, recommend you guys pick it up, you might like it.

lol! how the hell do people find these things?

Video response.

That is just too amazing to me, it feels like the real sonic is running around, too damn fast

I think one thing (the only thing actually) I like about Unleashed over Generations is this: Although some of the day levels in Unleashed HD were a frustrating trial and error even if you weren’t trying to boost, once you learn the stages, you’re rewarded with this amazing sense of speed. To some extent, I’m convinced that Sonic was faster in Unleashed HD than he currently is in Generations, even if I disregard the drifting in Unleashed that made Sonic (as shown in that video) do some amazing things. However, modern Sonic in Generations does have speed boosting power ups…

This is funny to me.

http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?387504-Stolen-video-for-contest

Basically, a contest was held for some kind of speed run.
Someone accused of cheating, person says he didn’t cheat.
Person who won contest is now selling the item he won on Ebay, good shit.

Thaaaat’s pretty fucked.

What a fucking shitty ass individual. I hope someone hacks his youtube account.

Wow what an asshole. I’ll bet Sega doesn’t do anything about it. I don’t know what they can do about it anyway. The worst thing would probably be a banning of his Ebay account I’d wager.

I guess they could report it as stolen property, but they did declare him the winner after all. Sega just needs to do a better job in the future.

I felt like I should post my opinion of the game as though I owe you guys for calling out modern sonic games earlier.

I love the game a lot. I was honestly quite surprised by the presentation. There were some parts that made me cringe as well as some glitches that reminded me of 06 but overall I felt like it was a huge step in the right direction. Some examples of glitches: I was running on planet wisp, and I randomly got stuck in a tree and couldn’t move at all. I was running on a loop in crisis city, same deal. Also, there are multiple glitched spots in the perfect chaos fight where you can’t move if you fall down. The remake of seaside hill was my favorite stage, and it made me feel like I was playing sonic heroes without the frustration of playing the actual “heroes.” I hope they add dlc levels because this game is fantastic. The video above of the speed high way speed run also made me happy. Those kind of speed runs bring me back to the days of sa/sa2 speed runs. Some of the side missions were interesting although I despised helping out sonic’s friends. The boss battle remakes were great, and I like how they pimped out perfect chaos. I felt like the sonic vs shadow battle was a little cheesy with the transformation parts, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I would give this game a solid 9.2/10. I look forward to future sonic games from now on. Don’t let me down sega!

Just now checking out Sonic Underground tonight as it’s on the Netflix instant queue. It’s all very awkward, like some really bad fan fiction brought to life. I can’t believe they had Jaleel White do a higher pitch for Sonia, it sounds terrible. I’m done with it.
